Nature experience promotes preference for and willingness to coexist with wild animals among urban and suburban residents in Malaysia

Introduction:A decline in direct experience with nature can lead to disaffection of natural environments,wildlife,and public indifference towards biodiversity *** study measured on affective attitude towards wildlife(i.e.,preferences for and willingness to coexist with 22 animal species)and examined the relationships between these attitudes and childhood experiences with ***:A face to face interview was carried out in rapidly urbanizing Malaysia for both urban and suburban 357 adults(age>20 years old).Results:It found that Malaysian people liked several insects and squirrels,but disliked mammals *** analysis,with controlling sociodemographic factors(gender,age and ethnicity),showed that childhood nature experience was positively associated with preference for wild animals(standardized path coefficient=0.18;p<0.001),and the preference had a strong correlation with willingness to coexistence(standardized path coefficient=0.61;p<0.001)with the *** nature experience,however,had limited effects on willingness to coexist with the animals via the preference,particularly for unfavourable *** results suggest that preference and willingness scores,even though they were significantly correlated,were different sides of affective attitudes toward ***:Therefore,to promote biodiversity conservation programs,we need strategies to increase acceptance of wild animals via relevant environmental education and public communication,as well as opportunities for nature activities for children.

We study the origin of baryon resonances which are dynamically generated in the chiral unitary approach. We propose a natural renormalization scheme for the dynamical generation of resonances using the low energy chiral interaction and a general feature of the scattering theory. A deviation of a phenomenological scattering amplitude from the natural one is interpreted by an effective pole term interaction of genuine nature which can not be described by the meson-baryon dynamics,reminiscent of the CDD pole. Applying the present method to physical meson-baryon scatterings,we find that the Λ(1405) resonance is dominated by a meson-baryon component forming a KN-πΣ molecular-like structure,while the N(1535) resonance requires some pole contribution.

We develop a new framework for the study of the nuclear matter based on the linear sigma model. We introduce a completely new viewpoint on the treatment of the nuclear matter with the inclusion of the pion. We extend the relativistic chiral mean field model by using the similar method in the tensor optimized shell model. We also regulate the pion-nucleon interaction by considering the form-factor and short range repulsion effects. We obtain the equation of state of nuclear matter and study the importance of the pion effect.

Hyperthermia-induced decline in cognitive performance is a moderate complication that poses challenges to the maintenance of safety. Although the underlying mechanism can be attributed to the disruption of brain networks, the propensity remains unclear. This study aimed to test the hypothesis that the extent of the alterations in cognitive performance is governed by the activity of deep brain structures, including monoaminergic neural systems. A decline in cognitive performance during mild hyperthermia and the beneficial effects of neck cooling were demonstrated using the Continuous Performance Test as a battery of cognitive tasks. Aspects of cognitive performance were characterized using the deep-brain activity (DBA) index as a neural activity parameter and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory to assess the extent of alterations in cognitive performance as an individual measure. It was found that a higher average DBA index during tasks is essential for high cognitive performance in the heat. This beneficial effect of DBA is governed by the upper brainstem. This DBA benefit is more significant for individuals with higher average DBA indices at rest in a normal environment. Individual differences in cognitive performance in the heat are governed by differences in DBA. In addition, the beneficial effect of DBA on cognitive performance in heat only applies under conditions including neck cooling. This limited neck-cooling effect is attributed to anti-homeostatic thermoregulatory responses to cognitive tasks regulated by DBA.

The study of exotic structure of hadrons is fully achieved when reaction dynamics of the associated hadron productions is well understood. We employ as the standard mechanism the effective Lagrangian method and investigate several physical observables within the framework. The parameters are constrained by microscopic description of hadrons. We discuss photoproductions of kaon associated with the ground state A（1116） and its resonances A（1405） and A（1520）. In the former example we emphasize the meson cloud effect which significantly renormalizes the phenomenological parameters, while in the latter we discuss the features of the standard method. Finally we discuss briefly the N（1535） for the study of chiral symmetry of baryons. production of ηπ associated with the nucleon resonance

Colorectal neuroendocrine carcinoma: A case report and review of the literature

BACKGROUND Colorectal neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) is a rare tumor that demonstrates aggressive growth pattern with ingrowth into the tract, metastasis to the other organs, and invasion to the surrounding organs;these clinical characteristics result in poor prognosis. Surgical resection appears as an effective approach;however, because it is difficult to accurately diagnose NEC during the early stage and owing to its aggressive growth pattern, development of a reliable standard chemotherapy regimen and management strategies are essential. CASE SUMMARY Here, we report the case of patient with NEC showing an aggressive growth pattern that resulted in the rupture of the tumor to the outside the colon after stenting of the internal colonic stenosis. In addition, the tumor invaded into the duodenum, thereby causing duodenal stenosis that required an additional stent in the duodenum. This aggressive growth pattern is one of the main features of the NEC that is different from adenocarcinoma. To clarify the clinical characteristics, we reviewed 60 recently reported cases, including data on tumor location, size, treatment, and prognosis. CONCLUSION We consider that the information presented here is of great significance for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of symptoms of the patients with NEC.

The influence of adiponectin G276T gene polymorphism on changes in total and high molecular weight adiponectin levels by exercise training

Adiponectin is an adipocyte-secreted hormone and regulates the metabolism of lipid and glucose. We examined the influence of adiponectin G276T gene polymorphism on changes in total or high molecular weight adiponectin levels by exercise training. A randomized parallel-design study (n = 53;40 women and 13 men;age range, 32 - 65 years) was conducted. Participants were randomly assigned to the exercise (n = 26) or control (n = 27) group and received exercise training for 70 min 2 times per week for 12 weeks and exercise advice at the baseline, respectively. Blood sample were obtained before and after the intervention. The primary outcomes were changes in total adiponectin and high molecular weight adiponectin levels. At the baseline, the participants with and without 276G allele did not differ with the total and high molecular weight adiponectin levels in the entire study population. No significant difference in the change in the total and high molecular weight adiponectin levels between the subjects with the G276G genotype and 276T allele carriers were found. This study provides evidence that the G276T polymorphism of the adiponectin gene is not associated with the magnitude of the effect of twice-weekly exercise training on the total and high molecular weight adiponectin levels.
