Asymmetric patchy Ag/Cu Janus nanoparticles(NPs)were synthesized via a“seed-mediated”*** is the first report of synthesis of nanometer sized metal-based Janus NPs without using complicated *** adsorption of the surfactant onto the seed NPs leads to the formation of Janus type *** the reduction potential of Ag+/Ag0 and Cu2+/Cu0 systems directs the formation of the“patch”.The patchy Janus NPs show significant antifungal activity towards a potent rice pathogen thus offering the prospect of future application in crop protection.

Neck injuries are significant causes of morbidity and mortality, and their chronic forms due to repetitive or sustained physical acts(e.g., prolonged use of mobile phone with a dropped head) are becoming increasingly more prevalent. Many injuries are preventable but the prevention and control requires a clear basic understanding of the neck biomechanics. In this paper, we describe a first-of-its-kind study that integrates a gamut of state-of-the-art imaging modalities(dynamic radiography, computed tomography(CT), and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)) and biodynamic measurements(motion capture, electromyography(EMG), force sensing), thereby investigating holistically the in vivo responses of the neck and its various interconnected musculoskeletal components during functional activities. We present a sample of findings to illustrate how the integrations at multiple levels can enable creating truly subject-specific neck musculoskeletal models and attaining novel insights that otherwise would be unattainable by a singular or subset of approaches.

Palaeocene-Eocene carbonates of shallow marine sequence belonging to Shella Formation of Jaintia Group are well developed in the south of the Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya and represent an excellent outcrop of shelf sediments in North Eastern Himalaya, India. These outcrops are exposed along the southern fringe of Shillong Plateau. The Prang Limestone is the uppermost lithostratigraphic unit of the Shella Formation within the Jaintia Group. It is overlain by sand-shale alternation of the Kopili Formation and underlain by the Narpuh Sandstone. A rich assemblage of larger foraminifera including Nummulites, Discocyclina etc. has been recorded earlier from the Prang Limestone and based on the foraminiferal assemblage, a Middle Eocene to Early Late Eocene age has been assigned to the Prang Limestone. Thin section analysis of the Prang Limestone revealed the abundance of well preserved coralline red algae along with other well preserved and significant biogenic elements. Morpho-taxonomical study reveals that the algal flora is represented by seven species belonging to the families Hapalidiaceae(Subfamily: Melobesioideae), Corallinaceae(Subfamily: Mastophoroideae) and Sporolithaceae. The dominance of melobesioid and mastophoroid forms is the characteristic feature of this algal assemblage. Coralline algae occur mostly in encrusting growth form with orbitoid foraminifera and occasionally the coralline algae form rhodoliths. On this basis of algal forms it can be inferred that they thrived in a shallow, warm, shelf environment of normal salinity.

We report the case of a young male who presented with features of aseptic meningitis and elevated serum liver enzymes,hut no symptoms or signs suggestive of an acute hepatitis. Subsequently,he was diagnosed with dual infection with hepatitis A and E viruses,and recovered completely with symptomatic *** aseptic meningitis,unaccompanied by hepatitic features is an unusual presentation of a hepatotrophic viral infection,and is yet to be reported with hepatitis A and E virus co-infection.

In this paper,an optimal secondary control strategy is proposed for islanded AC microgrids considering communi-cation *** proposed method is designed based on the data-driven principle,which consists of an offine training phase and online application *** offline training,each control agent is formulated by a deep neural network(DNN)and trained based on a multi-agent deep reinforcement learning(MA-DRL)framework.A deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG)algorithm is improved and applied to search for an optimal policy of the secondary control,where a global cost function is developed to evaluate the overall control *** addition,the communication time-delay is introduced in the system to enrich training scenarios,which aims to solve the time-delay problem in the secondary *** the online stage,each controller is deployed in a distributed way which only requires local and neighboring information for each *** on this,the well-trained controllers can provide optimal solutions under load variations,and communication time-delays for online *** case studies are conducted to validate the feasibility and stability of the proposed secondary *** Terms-Communication time-delay,global cost function,islanded AC microgrid,multi-agent deep reinforcement learning(MA-DRL),secondary control.

Prediction of the residual strength of clay using functional networks

Landslides are common natural hazards occurring in most parts of the world and have considerable adverse economic effects. Residual shear strength of clay is one of the most important factors in the determination of stability of slopes or landslides. This effect is more pronounced in sensitive clays which show large changes in shear strength from peak to residual states. This study analyses the prediction of the residual strength of clay based on a new prediction model, functional networks（FN） using data available in the literature. The performance of FN was compared with support vector machine（SVM） and artificial neural network（ANN） based on statistical parameters like correlation coefficient（R）, Nash–Sutcliff coefficient of efficiency（E）, absolute average error（AAE）, maximum average error（MAE） and root mean square error（RMSE）. Based on R and E parameters, FN is found to be a better prediction tool than ANN for the given data. However, the R and E values for FN are less than SVM. A prediction equation is presented that can be used by practicing geotechnical engineers. A sensitivity analysis is carried out to ascertain the importance of various inputs in the prediction of the output.

The availability of better economic possibilities and well-connected transportation networks has attracted people to migrate to peri-urban and rural neighbourhoods,changing the landscape of regions outside the city and fostering the growth of physical *** multi-temporal satellite images,the dynamics of Land Use/Land Cover(LULC)changes,the impact of urban growth on LULC changes,and regional environmental implications were investigated in the peri-urban and rural neighbourhoods of Durgapur Municipal Corporation in *** study used different case studies to highlight the study area’s heterogeneity,as the phenomenon of change is not *** TM and OLI-TIRS satellite images in 1991,2001,2011,and 2021 were used to analyse the changes in LULC *** used the relative deviation(RD),annual change intensity(ACI),uniform intensity(UI)to show the dynamicity of LULC types(agriculture land;built-up land;fallow land;vegetated land;mining area;and water bodies)during *** study also applied the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory(DEMATEL)to measure environmental sensitivity zones and find out the causes of LULC *** to LULC statistics,agriculture land,built-up land,and mining area increased by 51.7,95.46,and 24.79 km^(2),respectively,from 1991 to *** results also suggested that built-up land and mining area had the greatest land surface temperature(LST),whereas water bodies and vegetated land showed the lowest ***,this study looked at the relationships among LST,spectral indices(Normalized Differenced Built-up Index(NDBI),Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),and Normalized Difference Water Index(NDWI)),and environmental *** results showed that all of the spectral indices have the strongest association with LST,indicating that built-up land had a far stronger influence on the *** spectral indices indicated that the decreasing trends of vegetated land and water bodies were 4.26
