p-capture reaction cycles in rotating massive stars and their impact on elemental abundances in globular cluster stars: A case study of O, Na and Al

Elemental abundance patterns of globular cluster stars can provide important clues for understanding cluster formation and early chemical *** origin of the abundance patterns,however,still remains poorly *** have studied the impact of p-capture reaction cycles on the abundances of oxygen,sodium and aluminium considering nuclear reaction cycles of carbon-nitrogenoxygen-fluorine,neon-sodium and magnesium-aluminium in massive stars in stellar conditions of temperature range 2×107to 10×107K and typical density of 102gm *** have estimated abundances of oxygen,sodium and aluminium with respect to Fe,which are then assumed to be ejected from those stars because of rotation reaching a critical *** ejected abundances of elements are then compared with their counterparts that have been observed in some metal-poor evolved stars,mainly giants and red giants,of globular clusters M3,M4,M13 and NGC *** observe an excellent agreement with[O/Fe]between the estimated and observed abundance values for globular clusters M3 and M4 with a correlation coefficient above 0.9 and a strong linear correlation for the remaining two clusters with a correlation coefficient above *** estimated[Na/Fe]is found to have a correlation coefficient above 0.7,thus implying a strong correlation for all four globular *** far as[Al/Fe]is concerned,it also shows a strong correlation between the estimated abundance and the observed abundance for globular clusters M13 and NGC 6752,since here also the correlation coefficient is above 0.7 whereas for globular cluster M4 there is a moderate correlation found with a correlation coefficient above *** sources of these discrepancies are discussed.

Ocular manifestation and visual outcomes in herpes zoster ophthalmicus:a prospective study from a tertiary hospital of Eastern India

AIM:To estimate the magnitude of different ocular manifestation in clinically established herpes zoster ophthalmicus(HZO)patients and assessment of the visual outcome after two months of initial ***:An observational prospective study was conducted on 42 clinically diagnosed Tzanck smear positive cases HZO to observe the occurrence and frequency of different ocular manifestation and their visual outcome in 10-month period with 2mo follow *** ophthalmological examination using slit lamp,non-contact tonometry,applanation tonometry,direct and indirect ophthalmoscope were ***:Out of 42 patients of HZO,33 had one or more type of ocular manifestation staring from lid skin involvement to conjunctivitis,keratitis,uveitis,increased intraocular pressure(IOP)and optic neuritis but no retinal *** number of HZO cases and ocular manifestation were found with advancement of *** HZO patients were more associated with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)infection and HIV infected people with HZO infection had more ocular *** to female ratio was 2:1 among HZO cases but ocular manifestation occurred more among *** with advanced age were involved *** involvement(73.81%),conjunctivitis(69.05%),and keratitis(59.52%)were most common ocular manifestation followed by anterior uveitis(30.95%)and episcleritis(11.90%).Ocular hypertension(42.86%)was associated with almost every ocular *** the cases of more than 45 years of age,9.52%patients acquired 6/6 vision compared to 7.14%patients at and below 45 years of age after 8wk of follow ***:The visual outcomes are poor in HZO with advanced age *** outcome of the affected eyes is poor than unaffected *** loss of vision is mainly due to keratitis,anterior uveitis,posterior uveitis,and optic neuritis.

Evolution of landscape in a piedmont section of Eastern Himalayan foothills along India-Bhutan border: A tectono-geomorphic perspective

The present study area involves part of a deformed coalesced fan located along the Himalayan Frontal Thrust(HFT)on the east of river Tista near the India-Bhutan *** area is marked by two spectacular E-W trending south-sloping scarps namely the Matiali(ca.60 m)and Chalsa(ca.90 m)Scarps and a north-sloping E-W trending Thaljhora(ca.80 m)*** work comprises of a comparative study of geomorphology and geologic history in the adjacent interfluves of Jaldhaka-Gathia and Neora-Murti rivers to understand the tectonic history of the *** mapped the Jaldhaka-Gathia river interfluve at a 1:25,000 scale and report a hitherto unidentified northerly sloping small scarp of ca.5 m height named the Nagrakata *** scarp was identified using satellite images,DEMs,and total station *** interpret that the two northsloping,E-W trending scarps(Thaljhora and Nagrakata Scarps)are manifestations of steep limbs of anticlines over blind south-dipping back *** they form a wrinkle-ridge pair behind the north-dipping HFT,which is manifested by south-sloping Chalsa *** propose a plausible geomorphic model interpreting that deformation along the small fan in the Jaldhaka-Gathia interfluves is younger compared to fan deposition and deformation in the adjacent Mal-Murti *** most recent geomorphology of the Jaldhaka-Gathia interfluve is controlled by tectonism associated with the thrust below the Nagrakata Scarp where the youngest deformation episode is recorded to at around^6 ka and is likely related to motion on a splay off of the thrust beneath the Thaljhora Scarp.

We propose a dynamic threshold voltage j unctionless tunnel FET （DT-JLTFET） in wnlcn me mresnolu voltage can be dynamically adjusted, resulting in higher ON-current. Through 2D numerical simulations, it is presented that the threshold voltage in the DT-JLTFET can be adjusted by applying a voltage to the adjust gate. The impact of the threshold voltage shift on the overall performance of the device is also studied. A comparison is made between the dynamic threshold voltage characteristics of a silicon JLTFET and a Sio.7Geo.3 source JLTFET.

The volatility of returns from commodity futures:evidence from India

Background:This paper examines the pattern of the volatility of the daily return of select commodity futures in India and explores the extent to which the select commodity futures satisfy the Samuelson ***:One commodity future from each group of futures is chosen for the *** select commodities are potato,gold,crude oil,and mentha *** data are collected from MCX India over the period 2004–*** study uses several econometric techniques for the *** GARCH model is introduced for examining the volatility of commodity *** of the key contributions of the paper is the use of theβterm of the GARCH model to address the Samuelson ***:The Samuelson hypothesis,when tested by daily returns and using standard deviation as a crude measure of volatility,is supported for gold futures only,as per the value ofβ(the GARCH effect).The values of the rolling standard deviation,used as a measure of the trend in the volatility of daily returns,exhibits a decreasing volatility trend for potato futures and an increasing volatility trend for gold futures in all contract *** result of the GARCH(1,1)model suggests the presence of persistent volatility and the prevalence of long memory for the select commodity futures,except potato ***:The study sheds light on significant characteristics of the daily return volatility of the commodity futures under *** results suggest the existence of a developed market for the gold and crude oil futures(with volatility clustering)and show that the maturity effect is only valid for the gold futures.

Fresh and salted Tenualosa ilisha is very popular among the common people of Tripura,North-eastern part of *** the present study,nutritional value of fresh and salted *** and the effects of different cooking methods such as boiling and frying on them were *** differences were detected in proximate composition as well as in mineral,amino acid and fatty acid *** increased amount of protein,ash,dry matter and mineral content was observed in salted *** but reverse was observed in case of amino acid and fatty acid *** sample of both fresh and salted *** contained more amount of protein,fat,dry matter,ash,minerals and fatty acids than the boiled fish which play an important role in human *** conclusion,frying process for preparation of fish is found to be good for cooking.

Converting ultrafine silver nanoclusters to monodisperse silver sulfide nanoparticles via a reversible phase transfer protocol

To achieve better control of the formation of silver sulfide （Ag2S） nanoparticles, ultrasmall Ag nanoclusters protected by thiolate ligands （Ag44（SR）30 and Agla（GSH）9） are used as precursors, which, via delicate chemistry, can be readily converted to monodisperse Ag2S nanoparticles with controllable sizes （4-16 nm） and switchable solvent affinity （between aqueous and organic solvents）. This new synthetic protocol makes use of the atomic monodispersity and rich surface chemistry of Ag nanoclusters and a novel two-phase protocol design, which results in a well-controlled reaction environment for the formation of Ag2S nanopartides.

Diabetes is a burning issue in the whole *** is the imbalance between body glucose and *** study of this imbalance is very much needed from a research point of *** this reason,Bergman gave an important model named-Bergman *** the present work,using Caputo-Fabrizio(CF)fractional derivative,we generalize Bergman’s minimal blood glucose-insulin ***,we modify the old model by including one more component known as diet D(t),which is also essential for the blood glucose *** solve the modified modelwith the help of Sumudu transformand fixed-point iteration ***,using the fixed point theorem,we examine the existence and uniqueness of the results along with their numerical and graphical ***,the comparison between the values of parameters obtained by calculating different values of t with experimental data is also ***,we draw the graphs of G(t),X(t),I(t),andD(t)for different values ofτ.It is also clear from the obtained results and their graphical representation that the obtained results of modified Bergman’s minimal model are better than Bergman’s model.
