Physical exercise is recognized as an effective intervention to improve mood,physical performance,and general *** achieves these benefits through cellular and molecular mechanisms that promote the release of neuroprotective ***,reduced levels of physical exercise have been implicated in several central nervous system diseases,including ocular *** evidence has suggested that physical exercise levels are significantly lower in individuals with ocular diseases such as glaucoma,age-related macular degeneration,retinitis pigmentosa,and diabetic *** exercise may have a neuroprotective effect on the ***,the association between reduced physical exercise and ocular diseases may involve a bidirectional causal relationship whereby visual impairment leads to reduced physical exercise and decreased exercise exacerbates the development of ocular *** this review,we summarize the evidence linking physical exercise to eye disease and identify potential mediators of physical exercise-induced retinal ***,we discuss future directions for preclinical and clinical research in exercise and eye health.

Aims We analyze two continental data sets of forest communities from across the New World to examine the latitudinal gradients of beta diversity after accounting for gamma diversity and the latitudinal gradient of gamma diversity after accounting for beta *** Correlation and regression analyses were used to relate beta and gamma diversity to latitude along two latitudinal gradients in the New World(one including 72 forest sites located south of the equator and the other including 79 forest sites located north of the equator).Important Findings Beta diversity and gamma diversity were negatively correlated with *** diversity was strongly and positively correlated with gamma diversity(Pearson’s correlation coefficient:0.783 for New World North and 0.848 for New World South).When beta diversity was regressed on latitude and gamma diversity,69.8 and 85.7%of the variation in beta diversity were explained,respectively,for New World North and New World *** gamma diversity was regressed on latitude and beta diversity,81.8 and 84.3%of the variation in gamma diversity were explained,respectively,for New World North and New World *** statistically removing the relationship between beta and gamma diversity,latitude has weak or no relationships with beta and gamma ***,strong positive correlations between beta and gamma diversity may not be considered as evidence of one driving the other along a latitudinal gradient.

Graphene quantum dots(GQDs)/Ni(OH)_(2) composites on carbon cloth(G-NH//CC) are prepared through simple hydrothermal reactions. The resulting G-NH//CC is employed as a binder-free electrode of supercapacitors. Due to the enhanced electrical conductivity and efficient ion transport by the addition of GQDs, the G-NH//CC electrode exhibits enhanced electrochemical performances. Specifically, the GNH//CC delivers a maximum specific capacitance of 1825 F g^(-1) at a current density of 1 A g^(-1) as well as a good cycle stability of 83.5 % capacity retention after 8000 cycles. Additionally, all-solid-state symmetric supercapacitor(SSC) is assembled with G-NH//CC composites as both positive and negative *** fabricated SSC exhibits a high energy density of 80.8 Wh kg^(-1)at a power density of 2021 W kg^(-1). The present study provides a facile and efficient strategy to prepare high-performance electrode materials for advanced electrochemical energy storage devices.

The onset of the Cambrian witnessed the diversification of ＂small shelly fossils （SSF）＂, which affected carbonate depositional system. One of the problematic SSF, chancelloriids, are common components of the early to middle Cambrian carbonate and shale, and their contributions toward Cambrian carbonates are not yet fully understood. This study assesses distribution patterns of chancelloriid sclerites in the Cambrian Series 3 Daegi Formation based on microfacies analysis and discusses their sedimentologic implications. In the lower part of the formation, partially articulated chancelloriid sclerites occur mainly in bioclastic packstone and grainstone facies, with isolated sclerite rays in nodular packstone to grainstone facies. In the middle part of the formation, chancelloriid fragments occur only sporadically in bioclastic wackestone to packstone, bioclastic grainstone and oolitic packstone to grainstone facies, whereas boundstone facies are nearly devoid of their fragments. There are no chancelloriid fragments in the upper part of the formation, which consists of oolitic packstone to grainstone facies. Chancelloriids are interpreted to have primarily occupied platform margin shoal environments, shedding their sclerites to surrounding areas, and thus contributed as sediment producers. The distribution of Daegi chancelloriid sclerites is similar to other Cambrian examples, with the exception of common chancelloriids in Cambrian Series 2 reefs and their apparent near absence in the Daegi and other Cambrian Series 3 reefs. This disparity resulted from changes in the ecologic niche of chancelloriids after the end-Cambrian Series 2 reef crisis, coupled with an overall decline of chancelloriids in the middle Cambrian.

The yield strength of commercially pure(CP) Ti of ASTM grade 4, the strongest among all the CP-Ti grades, is too low for structural applications that require high-strength materials. Here, we demonstrate the strengthening of grade-4 CP Ti by cryogenic-temperature rolling(CTR), which enables deformation twinning in grade-4 CP Ti to achieve twinning-induced grain refinement. CTR activated {11.22} twinning and {10.12} twinning, which are the most common twinning systems in pure Ti, whereas room-temperature rolling(RTR) did not activate any twinning system. CTR with imposing an area reduction of just 30% significantly increased the yield strength of the CP Ti to 946 MPa, which is not achievable through typical processes performed at or above room temperature and is comparable to that of commercial Ti-6 Al-4 V. The significant increase in strength was due to microstructural strengthening caused by twinning-induced grain refinement, combined with dislocation accumulation. In contrast to RTR, CTR greatly increased the stress concentration at grain boundaries(GBs), which caused the unusual activation of twinning in the grade-4 CP Ti by facilitating twin nucleation at GBs. The stress concentration increased because CTR activated the slip to a lesser extent compared to RTR, thereby reducing the strain compatibility between neighboring grains. These results will contribute to development of ultrahigh-strength CP Ti and may thereby extend its use to structural applications that require high-strength materials.

Photodynamic therapy(PDT) is an emerging, non-invasive therapeutic strategy that involves photosensitizer(PS) drugs and external light for the treatment of diseases. Despite the great progress in PS-mediated PDT, their clinical applications are still hampered by poor water solubility and tissue/cell specificity of conventional PS drugs. Therefore, great efforts have been made towards the development of nanomaterials that can tackle fundamental challenges in conventional PS drug–mediated PDT for cancer treatment. This review highlights recent advances in the development of nano-platforms, in which various functionalized organic and inorganic nanomaterials are integrated with PS drugs, for significantly enhanced efficacy and tumor-selectivity of PDT.

Risk stratification for disease progression in pT3 prostate cancer after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy

The aim of this study is to identify optimal patients for adjuvant radiation therapy （ART） in pT3 prostate cancer. The role of ART for patients with adverse pathologic features after radical prostatectomy （RP） has been demonstrated, but over- or under-treatment remains a significant concern. Two-hundred and five patients with pT3NOMO who underwent robot-assisted RP without ART were analyzed. Multivariate Cox proportional regression analyses were used to identify predictors of biochemical recurrence （BCR） and clinical progression （CP）. The estimated 5-year BCR-free survival （BCRFS） and CP-free survival （CPFS） were 52.8% and 85.6%, respectively. Preoperative prostate-specifc antigen （PSA）：〉10 ng m1-1 （hazard ratio [HR]： 3.288-6.027; P = 0.003）, pathologic Gleason score （pGS）：〉8 （HR： 4.146; P = 0.014）, and lymphovascular invasion （LVI）（HR： 2.167; P = 0.026） were associated with BCR. Based on these factors, a risk stratification tool was developed. Patients with no risk factors （PSA 〈10 ng m1-1, pGS 6, and absent LVI） showed excellent BCRFS and CPFS at 5 years （91.9% and 100.0%, respectively）, but those with two or more risk factors （PSA ：〉10 ng ml-1, pGS ≥8, or present LVI） had poor BCRFS and CPFS （12.1% and 54.6%, respectively）. In addition, the multivariate analysis revealed that pathologic stage pT3b （HR： 5.393; P = 0.025） was the only predictor of CP. Our study demonstrated the heterogeneity of oncologic outcomes in patients with pT3 prostate cancer. The proposed risk stratification can be used to identify patients who are at risk for disease progression and may aid in identifying the best patients for ART.
