Colloidal quantum-dot(QD)light-emitting diodes(QLEDs)have been in the forefront of future display devices due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties.However,a complicated solution-process for patterning the red,green,and blue QDs deteriorates the QLED performance and limits the resolution of full-color displays.Herein,we report a novel concept of QD–organic hybrid light-emitting diodes by introducing an organic blue common layer(BCL)which is deposited through a common mask over the entire sub-pixels.Benefitted from the optimized device structure,red and green QLEDs retained their color coordinates despite the presence of the BCL.Furthermore,adopting the BCL improved the external quantum efficiency of green and red QLEDs by 38.4%and 11.7%,respectively,due to the Förster resonance energy transfer from the BCL to the adjacent QD layers.With the BCL structure,we could simply demonstrate a full-color QD-organic hybrid device in a single substrate.We believe that this device architecture is practically applicable for easier fabrication of solution-processed,highresolution,and full-color displays with reduced process steps.

There have been numerous works proposed to merge augmented reality/mixed reality(AR/MR)and Internet of Things(IoT)in various ways.However,they have focused on their specific target applications and have limitations on interoperability or reusability when utilizing them to different domains or adding other devices to the system.This paper proposes a novel architecture of a convergence platform for AR/MR and IoT systems and services.The proposed architecture adopts the oneM2M IoT standard as the basic framework that converges AR/MR and IoT systems and enables the development of application services used in general-purpose environments without being subordinate to specific systems,domains,and device manufacturers.We implement the proposed architecture utilizing the open-source oneM2M-based IoT server and device platforms released by the open alliance for IoT standards(OCEAN)and Microsoft HoloLens as an MR device platform.We also suggest and demonstrate the practical use cases and discuss the advantages of the proposed architecture.

Design and synthesis of low bandgap(LBG) polymer donors is inevitably challenging and their processability from a non-halogenated solvent system remains a hurdle to overcome in the area of highperformance polymer solar cells(PSCs).Due to a high aggregation tendency of LBG polymers,especially diketopyrrolopyrrole(DPP)-based polymers coupled with bithiophenes in the polymer backbones,their widespread adoption in non-ha logena ted solvent-processed PSCs has been limited.Herein,a novel LBG DPP-based polymer,called PDPP4 T-1 F with asymmetric arrangement of fluorine atom,has been successfully synthesized and showed an outstanding power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 10.10% in a singlejunction fullerene-based PSCs.Furthermore,an impressive PCE of 13.21% has been achieved in a tandem device from a fully non-halogenated solvent system,which integrates a wide bandgap PDTBTBz-2 F polymer in the bottom cell and LBG PDPP4 T-1 F polymer in the top cell.The achieved efficiency is the highest value reported in the literature to date in fullerene-based tandem PSCs.We found that a uniformly distributed interpenetrating fibril network with nano-scale phase separation and anisotropy of the polymer backbone orientation for efficient charge transfer/transport and suppressed charge recombination in PDPP4 T-1 F-based PSCs led to outstanding PCEs in single and tandem-junction PSCs.

The construction of a homojunction is an effective approach for addressing issues such as slow charge separation and charge-transfer kinetics in photoanodes.In the present work,we designed a gradient Si-and Ti-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) homojunction photoanode to improve the photoelectrochemical(PEC)performance of a Ti-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) photoanode.Ti-FeOOH nanocorals were synthesized using a hydrothermal process,and Si-FeOOH was grown on Ti-FeOOH nanocorals using a rapid and facile microwaveassisted(MW)technique.By varying the MW irradiation time,the thickness of the Si/Ti:Fe_(2)O_(3) photoanode was adjusted and an optimized 3-Si/Ti:Fe_(2)O_(3) photoelectrode was achieved with a significantly enhanced photocurrent density(1.37 mA cm^(-2) at 1.23 V vs.RHE)and a cathodic shift of the onset potential(150 mV)compared with that of bare Ti-Fe_(2)O_(3).This enhanced PEC performance can be ascribed to homojunction formation and Si gradient doping.The Si dopant increased the donor concentration and the formation of a homojunction improved the intrinsic built-in electric field,thereby promoting charge separation and charge transfer.Furthermore,the as-formed homojunction passivated the surfacetrapping states,consequently improving the charge transfer efficiency(60%at 1.23 VRHE)at the photoanode/electrolyte interface.These findings could pave the way for the microwave-assisted fabrication of diverse efficient homojunction photoanodes for PEC water splitting applications.

Neurodegenerative diseases,a group of disorders associated with advanced age,are typified by the disease-specific accumulation of mutant proteins and neuroinflammation.For decades,treatment modalities for these disorders have focused on addressing neuronal malfu nction,which has resulted in the failure of therapies.Recent studies have identified the crucial role of glial cells in exacerbating neurodegenerative processes via the release of neuroinflammatory mediators.Glia,the major immune component of the central nervous system (CNS),undergo numerous phenotypic transitions and regulate the outcomes of various pathologies (Afridi et al.,2022).

BACKGROUND Combined tumors comprising large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma have been rarely reported in the literature.CASE SUMMARY We report a case of a 73-year-old woman with chronic hepatitis B suspected to have a malignant hepatic mass(segment 3;size,4.5 cm)and lymph node metastasis based on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.Despite being Child-Pugh class A,esophageal varices were present.She underwent left lateral sectionectomy and lymph node dissection.Pathological examination revealed a collision tumor consisting of large-cell neuroendocrine(90%)and hepatocellular(10%)carcinomas.The combined carcinoma had metastasized to one of the three lymph nodes excised.The patient recovered without any postoperative complications and was discharged in good condition on postoperative day 13.Adjuvant chemotherapy was not performed.No recurrence occurred during a follow-up period of 24 mo.CONCLUSION To improve the therapeutic management of combined tumors in the liver,it is necessary to discuss each clinical experience and consider an appropriate method for the preoperative diagnosis and treatment.

BACKGROUND Aortic intramural hematoma(IMH) associated with aortic branch tear and intramurally located pseudoaneurysm after blunt trauma has not been reported.Here,we report a case of progressive type A aortic IMH associated with a pseudoaneurysm arising from the injured proximal renal artery after blunt trauma.CASE SUMMARY During logging operations,a 66-year-old man experienced blunt force trauma after being injured by a fallen tree.He arrived at our trauma center with a left flank pain complaint.Computed tomography(CT) revealed a pseudoaneurysm arising from the proximal renal artery(localized within the aortic media) and Stanford type A IMH.A covered stent was deployed along the left main renal artery,bridging the pseudoaneurysm and covering the parent artery,successfully excluding the pseudoaneurysm as confirmed using aortography.However,although the degree of the pseudoaneurysm decreased,follow-up CT revealed remnant pseudoaneurysm,likely caused by an endoleak.Subsequently,a covered stent was additionally installed through the previously deployed covered stent.Successful exclusion of the pseudoaneurysm was confirmed using final aortography.In the 7-mo follow-up CT scan,the IMH and pseudoaneurysm completely disappeared with no evidence of stent-related complications.CONCLUSION Endovascular treatment such as stent-graft placement can be an effective and safe treatment for traumatic renal artery injury.

OBJECTIVE:Chemotherapeutic agents such as docetaxel(DTX)can trigger chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN),which is characterized by unbearable pain.This study was designed to investigate the analgesic effect and related neuronal mechanism of low-frequency median nerve stimulation(LFMNS)on DTX-induced tactile hypersensitivity in mice.METHODS:To produce CIPN,DTX was administered intraperitoneally 4 times,once every 2 d,to male ICR mice.LFMNS was performed on the wrist area,and the pain response was measured using von Frey filaments on both hind paws.Western blot and immunofluorescence staining were performed using dorsal root ganglion and spinal cord samples to measure the expression of brainderived neurotrophic factor(BDNF).RESULTS:Repeated LFMNS significantly attenuated the DTX-induced abnormal sensory response and suppressed the enhanced expression of BDNF in the DRG neurons and spinal dorsal area.CONCLUSIONS:LFMNS might be an effective nonpharmaceutical option for treating patients suffering from CIPN via regulating the expression of peripheral and central BDNF.

Neuroinflammation,an intricate inflammatory process occurring in the central nervous system(CNS),plays an important role in host defense.Glial cells,including astrocytes and microglia,along with cytokines,chemokines,and the complement system are important components of neuroinflammation.A low level of neuroinflammation is associated with and contributes to various homeostatic and neuroprotective processes,such as removing pathogens or cellular debris and promoting tissue repair after brain injury.
