Objectives:Pesticide toxicity has become one of the major environmental menaces affecting all types of life forms of the *** get washed off from agricultural fields into nearby water bodies and enter the aquatic *** bio-accumulated form finally reaches the human race,through consumption of pesticide infested aquatic animals,causing several physiological *** it becomes necessary to find a therapeutic cure/a preventive measure to stop the health hazard issues of *** this projection a search for a phyto-based-product was made whose primary objective would be to lower the pesticidal toxicity in fish and simultaneously in the human ***:In this study we tried to check whether the phyto-chemical,Chlorophyllin(CHL),known for its anti-genotoxic,anti-oxidant activities,could render any kind of protection against Cypermethrin(CM)induced-toxicity in fish model and mammalian cell line *** the model L6 and fish were pre-treated with CHL prior to exposure of *** scientific parameters like%cellular cytotoxicity,reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation,nuclear condensation,etc were checked to validate the possibility of CHL in protecting CM-induced ***:The overall results revealed that pre-treatment with CHL could restrict the ROS generation leading to modulation in associated cytokine proteins expression NFkβand IFNγ.Further,CHL lowered nuclear condensation and elevated expression of DNA repair proteins p53 and PARP,showing a kind of pre-activation of signalling cascades for overall protection against the severity of pesticidal ***:Thus,this phyto-based preventive approach would possibly solve many areas of human health issues related to pesticide toxicity in future.

Marcus-Gunn Jaw Winking Syndrome and Gustatory Sweating in Long Standing Poorly Controlled Diabetes: A Case Report

Introduction: Marcus Gunn jaw winking syndrome (MGJWS) is a rare congenital disorder belonging to the synkinetic eye movement group of disorders observed in children. It occurrence in adults and patients with diabetes has not been reported. Material and Methods: A 64 year man with poorly controlled diabetes of 18 years presented with 3 month history of jaw winking on the left side along with gustatory sweating, which was managed conservatively. There was spontaneous improvement in jaw wink at 4 months of follow up. Conclusions: Acquired causes of MGJWS are not known. This is probably the first report of this syndrome occurring at such a late age. Long standing poorly controlled diabetes may have had some role in the development of jaw winking in this patient.

Structural and electrical transport properties of a rare earth double perovskite oxide:Ba_2ErNbO_6

The double perovskite oxide barium erbium niobate, Ba2ErNbO6 （BEN） was synthesized by solid state reaction technique. Rietveld refinement of the X-ray diffraction pattern of the sample showed cubic （Fm3m） phase at room temperature. Fourier trans-form infrared spectrum showed two primary phonon modes of the sample at around 387 and 600 cm-1. Raman spectrum of the sam-ple taken at 488 nm excitation wavelength showed four primary strong peaks at 106, 382, 747 and 814 cm-1. Lorentzian lines with 10 bands were used to fit the Raman spectrum. A group theoretical study was performed to assign all the Raman modes. Impedance spectroscopy was applied to investigate the ac electrical conductivity of BEN in a temperature range from 303 to 673 K and in a fre-quency range from 100 Hz-1 MHz. The dielectric relaxation mechanism was discussed in the frame work of permittivity, conduc-tivity, modulus and impedance formalisms. The complex plane plot of the impedance data was modeled by an equivalent circuit con-sisting of two serially connected R-CPE units, （one for the grain and the other for the grain boundary）, each containing a resistor （R） and a constant phase element （CPE）. The R-CPE units were used to incorporate the non-ideal character of the polarization phenome-non instead of an ideal capacitive behaviour. The relaxation time corresponding to dielectric loss was found to obey the Arrhenius law with activation energy of 0.85 eV. The frequency dependent conductivity spectra followed the Jonscher power law. The Cole-Cole model was used to investigate the dielectric relaxation mechanism in the sample.
