BACKGROUND Low back pain(LBP)is a prevalent issue that orthopedic surgeons frequently address in the outpatient *** can arise from various causes,with stiffness in the paraspinal muscles being a notable *** administration of Botulinum toxin type A(BoNT-A)has been found to alleviate back pain by relaxing these stiff *** BoNT-A is approved for use in numerous conditions,a limited number of randomized clinical trials(RCTs)validate its efficacy specifically for treating *** To study the safety and the efficacy of BoNT-A in minimizing pain and improving functional outcomes in patients of chronic LBP(CLBP).METHODS In this RCT,adults aged 18-60 years with mechanical LBP persisting for at least six months were *** were allocated to either the Drug group,receiving 200 Ipsen Units(2 mL)of BoNT-A,or the Control group,which received a 2 mL *** a 2-month follow-up period,both groups were assessed using the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)for pain intensity and the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)for disability at the start and conclusion of the study.A decrease in pain by 50%was deemed clinically *** The study followed 40 patients for two months,with 20 in each group.A clinically significant reduction in pain was observed in 36 *** was a statistically significant decrease in both VAS and ODI scores in the groups at the end of two ***,when comparing the mean score changes,only the reduction in ODI scores(15 in the placebo group vs 16.5 in the drug group,clinically insignificant)was statistically significant(P=0.012),whereas the change in mean VAS scores was not significant(P=0.45).CONCLUSION The study concludes that BoNT-A does not offer a short-term advantage over placebo in reducing pain or improving LBP scores in CLBP patients.

In this paper a novel,compact,microstrip-fed,quad-band monopole antenna is presented for the application of Global System for Mobile communication(GSM 900),Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access(WiMAX)and Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN).The proposed antenna comprises of a sickle-shaped structure with four circular arc strips,and a modified rectangular ground *** four strips of the antenna are independently responsible for the four different resonant frequencies of the operating bands and can be tuned separately to control the radiation *** proposed quad-band antenna is designed to resonate at 940 MHz for GSM 900,2.5 and 3.5 GHz for WiMAX and 5.85 GHz for WLAN *** the four intended operating bands,the antenna exhibits impedance bandwidth of 60 MHz(905–965MHz),80 MHz(2.45–2.53 GHz),110 MHz(3.48–3.59 GHz)and 2.39 GHz(4.82–7.21 GHz),*** the resonance frequency of the four bands,the gain of the proposed antenna is obtained as 4.2,2.5,1.7 and 1.9 dBi,respectively.A prototype of the designed antenna is fabricated and a good agreement between simulated and measured results is ***,the proposed antenna shows good radiation characteristics and gains at all the four operating bands.

Volume instability of expansive soils due to moisture fluctuations is often disastrous,causing severe damages and distortions in the supported *** is,therefore,necessary to adequately improve the performance of such soils that they can favorably fulfil the post-construction stability *** can be achieved through chemical stabilization using additives such as lime,cement and fly *** this paper,suitability of such additives under various conditions and their mechanisms are reviewed in *** is observed that the stabilization process primarily involves hydration,cation exchange,flocculation and pozzolanic *** degree of stabilization is controlled by several factors such as additive type,additive content,soil type,soil mineralogy,curing period,curing temperature,delay in compaction,pH of soil matrix,and molding water content,including presence of nano-silica,organic matter and sulfate *** of nano-silica not only improves soil packing but also accelerates the pozzolanic ***,presence of deleterious compounds such as sulfate or organic matter can turn the treated soils unfavorable at times even worser than the unstabilized ones.

Wind load and response are the major factors that govern the most critical condition for designing tall buildings. This study discusses the variability of wind load and pressure on a Y plan shaped tall building due to the change in the building side ratio. The length to width ratio is changed keeping the total plan area same. The numerical study is done by ANSYS CFX. Two turbulence models, k-epsilon and shear stress transport (SST), are used for doing the numerical simulation and the results are compared with the previous wind tunnel results in a similar flow condition. Sample points were selected based on Audze–Eglais Uniform Latin Hypercube (AELH) method and the analytical expressions of force, moment and torsional coefficients of Y plan shaped tall building are proposed. These expressions are fitted very well and the AELH method has given a great set of sample points that have significantly decreased the total computational time. The graphical representations of these expressions for various coefficients are presented and discussed. Then pressure distributions on three different models are compared and the pros and cons of higher and lower values of side ratios are discussed.
