Diabetes melli.us considerably affects bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs),for example,by inhibiting their proli.eration and differentiation potential,which enhances the difficulty in endogenous bone ***,effective strategies for enhancing the functions of BMSCs in diabetes have farreaching consequences for bone heali.g and regeneration in diabetes *** framework nucleic acids(tFNAs)are nucleic acid nanomaterials that can autonomously enter cells and regulate their *** this study,we evaluated the effects of tFNAs on BMSCs from diabetic *** found that tFNAs could promote the proli.eration,migration,and osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs from rats with type 2 diabetes melli.us,and inhibited cell senescence and ***,tFNAs effectively scavenged the accumulated reactive oxygen species and activated the suppressed protein kinase B(Akt)signali.g ***,we show that tFNAs can recover the proli.eration and osteogenic potential of diabetic BMSCs by alleviating oxidative stress and activating Akt *** study provides a strategy for endogenous bone regeneration in diabetes and also paves the way for exploiting DNA-based nanomaterials in regenerative medicine.

As a river with more than 3000 reservoirs in its watershed,the Yellow River has been affected by dams not only on the sediment load,but also on the water ***-sediment regulation scheme(WSRS),which has been carried out annually in the Yellow River since 2002,is a typical human activity affecting river water *** dissolved organic matter(CDOM)in river is susceptible to changes in ecological and environmental conditions as well as human ***,we report variations in dissolved organic carbon concentrations,compositions and sources of CDOM in time series samples in the lower Yellow River during *** addition,a parallel factor fluorescence analysis(PARAFAC)method is appli.d to identify different fluorescent components in water samples during WRSR,showing four major components including tryptophan-li.e component(C1),microbial humic-li.e component(C2),terrestrial humic-li.e component(C3)and tyrosine-li.e component(C4).in general,C1 increased after water regulation,while C2 and C3 increased after sediment regulation,indicating that the water and sediment released by the dam have different effects on CDOM *** the impacts of the dam,source of CDOM in the lower Yellow River is mainly autochthonous related to microbial activities,and is regulated by the terrestrial input during WSRS *** resuspension inhibits microbial activities and reduces the production of autochthonous ***,human activities especially WSRS,as exempli.ied here,significantly alter the quali.y and quantity of CDOM in the lower Yellow River,affecting CDOM dynamics and biogeochemical processes in the estuarine environment.

This study aimed to investigate the previously unexplored effects of ice cover and submerged vegetation on flow *** were undertaken under both open channel and ice-covered flow *** bed material consisted of three non-uniform *** findings revealed that when vegetation patches were present on the bed and an ice cover was present,the velocity profiles exhibited a distinctive pattern with two peak *** kinetic energy(TKE)also exhibited two peaks,one above the vegetation bending height and another at the sheath section,with a decreasing trend towards the ice ***,quadrant analysis showed that when the flow surface is covered by an ice cover,the contributions of inward and outward events increased compared with those observed in an open channel *** most cases,these contributions surpassed the sweep and ejection *** findings enhance our understanding of vegetation’s response to diverse surface conditions and have practical impli.ations for river management and environmental engineering.

Differences in spring precipitation over southern China associated with multiyear La Ni?a events

Composite analyses were performed in this study to reveal the difference in spring precipitation over southern China during multiyear La Ni?a events during 1901 to 2015. it was found that there is significantly below-normal precipitation during the first boreal spring, but above-normal precipitation during the second year. The difference in spring precipitation over southern China is correlative to the variation in western North Pacific anomalous cyclone(WNPC), which can in turn be attributed to the different sea surface temperature anomaly(SSTA) over the Tropical Pacific. The remote forcing of negative SSTA in the equatorial central and eastern Pacific and the local air-sea interaction in the western North Pacific are the usual causes of WNPC formation and *** in the first spring is stronger than those in the second spring. As a result, the intensity of WNPC in the first year is stronger, which is more li.ely to reduce the moisture in southern China by changing the moisture transport, leading to prolonged precipitation deficits over southern China. However, the tropical SSTA signals in the second year are too weak to induce the formation and maintenance of WNPC and the below-normal precipitation over southern China. Thus, the variation in tropical SSTA signals between two consecutive springs during multiyear La Ni?a events leads to obvious differences in the spatial pattern of precipitation anomaly in southern China by causing the different WNPC response.

Constructing robust surface and bulk structure is the prerequisite for reali.ing high performance high voltage li.oO2（LCO）.Herein,we manage to synthesize a surface Mg-doping and bulk Al-doping coreshell structured LCO,which demonstrates excellent cycli.g ***-cell shows 94.2% capacity retention after 100 cycles at 3.0-4.6 V（***/li.） cycli.g,and no capacity decay after 300 cycles for fullcell test（3.0-4.55 V）.Based on comprehensive microanalysis and theoretical calculations,the degradation mechanisms and doping effects are systematically *** the undoped LCO,high voltage cycli.g induces severe interfacial and bulk degradations,where cracks,stripe defects,fatigue H2 phase,and spinel phase are identified in grain *** the doped LCO,Mg-doped surface shell can suppress the interfacial degradations,which not only stabili.es the surface structure by forming a thin rock-salt layer but also significantly improves the electronic conductivity,thus enabli.g superior rate *** Al-doping can suppress the lattice "breathing" effect and the detrimental H3 to H1-3 phase transition,which minimizes the internal strain and defects growth,maintaining the layered structure after prolonged *** theoretical calculations,this work deepens our understanding of the doping effects of Mg and Al,which is valuable in guiding the future material design of high voltage LCO.

in this work,C@Fe_(3)O_(4) composites were prepared through a typical template method with emulsified asphalt as carbon source,ammonium ferric citrate as transition metal oxide precursor,and NaCl as *** an anode for li.hium-ion batteries,the optimized C@Fe_(3)O_(4)-1:2 composite exhibits an excellent reversible capacity of 856.6 mA·h·g^(-1)after 100 cycles at 0.1A·g^(-1)and a high capacity of 531.1mA·h·g^(-1)after 300 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1),much better than those of bulk carbon/Fe_(3)O_(4) prepared without *** remarkable cycli.g performance mainly benefits from its well-designed structure:Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles generated from ammonium ferric citrate during pyrolysis are homogenously encapsulated in graphitized and in-plane porous carbon nanocages derived from petroleum *** carbon nanocages not only improve the conductivity of Fe_(3)O_(4),but also suppress the volume expansion of FesO4 effectively during the charge discharge cycle,thus deli.ering a robust electrochemical *** work reali.es the high value-added utili.ation of low-cost petroleum asphalt,and can be extended to appli.ation of other transition-metal oxides-based anodes.

Effect of Ball Milli.g Time on Microstructure and Hydrogen Storage Properties of Nd_(5)Mg_(41)Ni Alloy

Mg-based alloys must be dehydrogenated at high pressure and temperatures, li.iting their practical appli.ation. in this paper, Nd_(5)Mg_(41)Ni alloy was prepared by vacuum melting, and the as-cast alloy was ball milled for 5 h, 10 h, 15 h, and 20 h. The effect of ball milli.g time on the microstructure and hydrogen storage properties of the alloy was systematically studied. The alloy comprises Nd_(5)Mg_(41), NdMg_(12), NdMg_(3), and Mg_(2)Ni phases. The Nd_(5)Mg_(41)Ni alloy milli.g for 10 h can reach 95% of the saturated hydrogen absorption at 553 K by 40 s, and the alloy can desorb hydrogen only by 20 min. The dehydrogenation activation energy is only 99.9 kJ/mol H_(2). Ball milli.g makes the alloy produce many nanocrystalli.e and amorphous structures. The nano-grain boundary provides a channel for the diffusion of hydrogen atoms, and the high energy at the grain boundary provides energy for the phase deformation nucleus. Ball milli.g leads to the refinement of alloy particles and shortens the diffusion distance of hydrogen atoms to the interior of alloy particles. Defects such as twins and dislocations generated by milli.g provide energy for the phase deformation nucleus during the hydrogen absorption and desorption.
