BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pneumonia with severe septic shock and acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)are critical illnesses for patients following *** immunoglobulin(IVIG)plays a role in both immune support and inflammation control,especially in immunocompromised *** case report describes the first successful experience using IVIG and pulse steroids to manage this critical condition following lung *** SUMMARY A 65-year-old male patient reported a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and poor lung function and received bilateral sequential lung ***,he developed COVID-19 pneumonia,severe septic shock,and *** recovered from this critical condition after empirical antibiotics administration and veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation,in addition to IVIG and pulse *** IVIG is a valuable adjunct in managing severe sepsis in lung transplant recipients after COVID-19 *** aim,for the first time,to report the success of such a management approach for COVID-19 ARDS and sepsis in the post-lung transplant *** further investigations,this is a starting point for wider analysis of such an approach in this setting and consequently helps guide clinical practice for such a challenging patient population moving forward.

High ammonia-nitrogen digestate has become a key bottleneck limiting the anaerobic digestion of organic solid *** ammonia stripping can simultaneously remove and recover ammonia nitrogen,which has attracted a lot of attention in recent *** investigate the parameter effects on the efficiency and mass transfer,five combination conditions(53℃ 15 kPa,60°C 20 kPa,65°C 25 kPa,72°C 35 kPa,and 81°C 50 kPa)were conducted for ammonia stripping of sludge *** results showed that 80%of ammonia nitrogen was stripped in 45 min for all experimental groups,but the ammonia transfer coefficient varied under different conditions,which increased with the rising of boiling point temperature,and reached the maximum value(39.0 mm/hr)at 81°C 50 *** ammonia nitrogen removal efficiency was more than 80%for 30 min vacuum stripping after adjusting the initial pH to above 9.5,and adjustment of the initial alkalinity also affects the pH value of liquid *** was found that pH and alkalinity are the key factors influencing the ammonia nitrogen dissociation and removal efficiency,while temperature and vacuum mainly affect the ammonia nitrogen mass transfer and removal *** terms of the mechanism of vacuum ammonia stripping,it underwent alkalinity destruction,pH enhancement,ammonia nitrogen dissociation,and free ammonia *** this study,two-stage experiments of alkalinity destruction and ammonia removal were also carried out,which showed that the two-stage configuration was beneficial for ammonia *** provides a theoretical basis and practical technology for the vacuum ammonia stripping from liquid digestate of organic solid waste.

BACKGROUND Aseptic meningitis is defined as meningeal inflammation caused by various etio-logies with negative cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)bacterial *** most common etiologies are viruses[enteroviruses,arboviruses,and herpes simplex virus type 2(HSV-2)].Aseptic meningitis can have various presentations,including sensori-neural *** sensorineural deafness from mumps meningoencephalitis has been reported,cases of HSV-2-induced hearing loss are ***,we re-port a case of HSV-2-induced meningitis that presented with sudden *** SUMMARY A 68-year-old man experienced a profound sudden onset of left-sided hearing loss for one ***-tone audiograms demonstrated sudden left-sided sensorineural hearing loss(thresholds 80-90 dB).After treatment with high-dose steroids for 1 week,he experienced an acute consciousness change with left *** laboratory data showed no significant *** computed tomography without contrast and magnetic resonance imaging revealed no intracranial hemo-rrhage or obvious brain *** CSF analysis and the Multiplex PCR panels showed HSV-2 ***,under the diagnosis of herpes meningoenceph-alitis,acyclovir was prescribed and his symptoms gradually *** This case report further demonstrates that a viral infection could be a cause of sudden sensorineural hearing loss.

Phosphorus-based anode is a promising anode for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to its high specific capacity,however,suffers from poor electronic conductivity and unfavorable electrochemical *** metals such as copper(Cu)into phosphorus has been demonstrated to not only improve the electronic conductivity but also accommodate the volume change during cycling,yet the underline sodiation mechanism is not ***,take a copper phosphide and reduced graphene oxide(CuP_(2)/C)composite as an example,which delivers a high reversible capacity of>900 mAh/***,it is revealed that the native oxidation PO_(x)components of the CuP_(2)/C composite show higher electrochemical reversibility than the bulk Cu P_(2),based on a quantitative analysis of high-resolution solid-state^(31)P NMR,ex-situ XPS and synchrotron X-ray diffraction characterization *** sodiation products Na_(3)PO_(4) and Na_(4)P_(2)O_(7) derived from PO_(x) could react with Na-P alloys and regenerate to PO_(x) during charge process,which probably accounts for the high reversible capacity of the Cu P_(2)/C *** findings also illustrate that the phosphorus transforms into nanocrystalline Na_(3)P and Na_(x)P alloys,which laterally shows crystallization-amorphization evolution process during cycling.

Increasing nitrogen and phosphorus discharge and decreasing sediment input have made silicon(Si)a limiting element for diatoms in *** in nutrient structure and salinity fluctuation can greatly affect metal uptake by estuarine ***,the combined effects of Si and salinity on metal accumulation in these diatoms have not been *** this study,we aimed to investigate how salinity and Si availability combine to influence the adsorption of metals by a widely distributed diatom Phaeodactylum *** data indicate that replete Si and low salinity in seawater can enhance cadmium and copper adsorption onto the diatom *** the single-cell level,surface potential was a dominant factor determining metal adsorption,while surface roughness also contributed to the highermetal loading capacity at lower *** a combination of noninvasive micro-test technology,atomic force microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,we demonstrate that the diversity and abundance of the functional groups embedded in diatom cell walls vary with salinity and Si *** results in a change in the cell surface potential and transient metal *** study provides novel mechanisms to explain the highly variable metal adsorption capacity of a model estuarine diatom.

The effects of austenite grain size on the deformed microstructure and mechanical properties of an Fe-20Mn-6Al-0.6C-0.15Si(wt.%)low-density steel were *** microstructure of the experimental steel after solution treatment was single austenitic *** austenite grain size increased with solution temperature and time.A model was established to show the relationship between temperature,time and austenite grain size for the experimental *** addition,as the solution temperature increased,the strength decreased,while the elongation first increased and then *** decrease in elongation after solution treatment at 1100℃ for 90 min is contributed to the over-coarse austenite ***,after solution treatment at 900℃ for 90 min,the strength-elongation product reached the highest value of 44.4 GPa%.As the austenite grain size increased,the intensity of//tensile direction fiber *** was accompanied by a decrease in dislocation density,resulting in a lower fraction of low-angle grain boundaries and a lower work hardening ***,the austenite grain size has a critical influence on the mechanical properties of the low-density *** grains lead to a lower yield strength due to the Hall-Petch effect and a lower tensile strength because of lower dislocation strengthening.

Mining Subsidence Based on Integrated SBAS-InSAR and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Technology

The Small Baseline Subset InSAR(SBAS-InSAR)and unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)as common ocean-land technologies,have been extensively applied in subsidence,glacial movement,surface deformation,and maritime positioning and navigation.A novel method integrating SBAS-InSAR and UAV photogrammetry is used to analyze ground subsidence deformation in the Gesar gold mine located in Maqu,Northwest *** approach uses SBAS-InSAR to calculate two-dimensional deformation data for capturing ascending and descending *** method can provide precise information on small-sized deformations within mining *** deformation data obtained from UAVs and the vertical deformation data derived from InSAR are integrated to generate comprehensive and accurate ground subsidence data from the mining *** demonstrate that using a combined InSAR(vertical)and UAV technique to analyze surface subsidence in mining districts resolves inconsistency between the line-of-sight and deformation ***,the incoherence issue of InSAR in regions with large deformation gradients is addressed,while the inherent errors of UAV monitoring of mining surface subsidence are *** genetic algorithm(GA)-backpropagation(BP)neural network algorithm is combined with InSAR data to predict subsidence in collapsed *** observed,the GA-BP algorithm has the smallest residual under the same training ***,the GA-BP neural network model can effectively predict surface subsidence in mining areas and can be used for subsequent subsidence prediction.

This work investigated the microstructure,magnetic properties,and crystallization kinetics of the as-spun and annealed alloy ribbons of(Fe_(40-x)Co_xNi_(40)Si_(6.33)B_(12.66)Cu_1)_(0.97)Nb_(0.03),where x=0,6,7,8,9,prepared using the meltspinning *** results show that adding a moderate amount of Co can improve the glass forming ability(GFA),the first peak crystallization temperature,and thermal stability of the as-spun alloy *** x=7,the two-stage crystallization temperature interval△Tx=90 exhibits optimal thermal stability,and the alloy annealed at 673 K for 10 minutes shows the favorable combined magnetic properties,with H_(c)=0.12 A/m,M_(s)=88.7 A·m^(2)/kg,andμ_(e)=*** magnetic domain results show that annealing removes numerous pinning points in the magnetic domains of the alloy ribbons,making the domain walls smoother and effectively reducing the pinning effect.
