In this paper,we review the development of a phase theory for systems and networks in its first five years,represented by a trilogy:Matrix phases and their properties;The MIMO LTI system phase response,its physical interpretations,the small phase theorem,and the sectored real lemma;The synchronization of a multi-agent network using phase *** the end,we also summarize a list of ongoing research on the phase theory and speculate what will happen in the next five years.

The ancient crop broomcorn millet(Panicum miliaceum L.)is an indispensable orphan crop in semi-arid regions due to its short life cycle and excellent abiotic stress *** advantages make it an important alternative crop to increase food security and achieve the goal of zero hunger,particularly in light of the uncertainty of global climate ***,functional genomic and biotechnological research in broomcorn millet has been hampered due to a lack of genetic tools such as transformation and genome-editing ***,we successfully performed genome editing of broomcorn *** identified an elite variety,Hongmi,that produces embryogenic callus and has high shoot regeneration ability in in vitro *** established an Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated genetic transformation protocol and a clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/Cas9-mediated genome-editing system for *** these techniques,we produced herbicide-resistant transgenic plants and edited phytoene desaturase(Pm PDS),which is involved in chlorophyll *** facilitate the rapid adoption of Hongmi as a model line for broomcorn millet research,we assembled a near-complete genome sequence of Hongmi and comprehensively annotated its ***,our results open the door to improving broomcorn millet using biotechnology.

This study employs a linear inversion algorithm to retrieve volume emission rates(VERs)of molecular O_(2) nightglow at 1.27μm,utilizing Limb-Viewed spectra obtained from the SCanning Imaging Absorption spectroMeter for Atmospheric for CHartographY(SCIAMACHY)payload on board the Envisat *** retrieved results are compared with VERs data from the SABER payload on the Thermosphere Ionosphere Mesosphere Energetics and Dynamics(TIMED)satellite,exhibiting *** will help to facilitate accurate revelation of spatial distribution and periodic variation in O_(2) *** are extracted monthly within the altitude range of 75-110 km from 2002 to 2012,yielding a climatology of spatial and temporal *** meridional structure exhibits two maxima,at the equator and at 45°*** August and October,the VERs exhibit a meridional bimodal structure,with the weaker one above the equator and the stronger one above 45°*** April,the VERs reach their annual ***,harmonic analysis reveals significant temporal variations on different *** emission shows characteristics of annual and semi-annual variation,and a non-linear long-term trend associated with solar cycle activity.

Background and Aims:Intra-abdominal visceral fat accumulation and patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 3(PNPLA3)rs738409 G/C gene polymorphism confer a greater susceptibility to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).We examined whether the relationship between visceral fat accumulation and liver disease severity may be influenced by PNPLA3 rs738409 ***:The variant of PNPLA3 rs738409 was genotyped within 523 Han individuals with biopsy-confirmed *** fat area(VFA)was measured by bioelectrical *** liver fibrosis(SF),defined as stage F≥2 on histology,was the outcome measure of ***:The distribution of PNPLA3 genotypes was CC:27.5%,CG:48.2%,and GG:24.3%.Higher VFA was associated with greater risk of having SF(adjusted-odds ratio[OR]:1.03;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.02–1.04,p<0.05),independent of potential *** subjects with the same VFA level,the risk of SF was greater among carriers of the rs738409 G genotype than among those who did *** analysis showed that PNPLA3 rs738409 significantly influenced the association between VFA and *** remained significantly associated with SF only among the rs738409 G-allele carriers(adjusted-OR:1.05;95%CI:1.03–1.08 for the GG group;and adjusted-OR:1.03;95%CI:1.01–1.04 for the GC group).There was a significant interaction between VFA and PNPLA3 rs738409 genotype(Pinteraction=0.004).Conclusions:PNPLA3 rs738409 G allele has a moderate effect on the association between VFA and risk of SF in adult individuals with biopsy-proven *** of the PNPLA3 rs738409 G allele and VFA interact to increase risk of SF。

Low-densityδ-quenching and partitioning(δ-QP)steels with excellent strength and ductility have been recently ***,there are still rare reports on the formability of δ-QP steels,which are critical for satisfying the manufacture of structural parts during the application in automotive *** the present work,an 1180 MPa Fe–Mn–Al–C–Nbδ-QP steel with a high ductility was adopted for the stretch–flangeability ***δ-QP steel was developed by separated quenching and partitioning processes.A good hole expansion ratio(HER)of 34.9±0.9%was obtained in the quenched steel,but it has been further increased to 52.2%by the tempering *** improved stretch–flangeability was attributed to the enhanced austenite stability and deformation *** the one hand,the stability of austenite was increased by carbon partitioning during tempering,which reduced crack possibility via the suppression of the fresh martensite *** the other hand,the tempering treatment released the internal stress caused by martensitic transformation and reduced the difference in strength among different phases,resulting in an increase in the resistance to crack initiation and propagation.

Background:Animal organ meat(offal)is a food with high nutrient density that is popular in different parts of the world,but its relationship with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)is *** aimed to examine whether daily animal organ meat consumption is associated with the presence of NASH in individuals with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods:A total of 136 Chinese adults with biopsy-proven NAFLD were *** NASH was defined as NAFLD activity score≥4 and at least one point for steatosis,ballooning,and lobular *** animal organ meat consumption was estimated using a self-administered validated food frequency *** regression analysis was performed to assess the association between animal organ meat intake and liver disease ***:The 136 participants(80.9%men)of the study had a mean±standard deviation(SD)age of 39.0±12.5 years and body mass index of 27.4±3.6 kg/*** of definite NASH was 65.4%.Daily median organ meat consumption was 1.30 g/1,000 *** organ meat consumption was inversely associated with the presence of NASH even after adjustment of demographics,lifestyle variables,metabolic and dietary factors,as well as liver fibrosis stage;adjusted-odds ratios(95%confidence intervals)for NASH were 0.15(0.03,0.69)for the highest tertile and 0.18(0.05,0.70)for the medium tertile,compared to the lowest(reference)tertile of animal organ meat intake(P value for trend=0.024).Conclusions:Our results suggest for the first time that higher animal organ meat consumption is associated with a lower prevalence of NASH in Chinese individuals with biopsy-proven NAFLD.

The microscopic global nucleon–nucleus optical model potential(OMP)proposed by Whitehead,Lim,and Holt,the WLH potential(Whitehead et al.,Phys Rev Lett 127:182502,2021),which was constructed in the framework of many-body per-turbation theory with state-of-the-art nuclear interactions from chiral effective field theory(EFT),was tested with(p,d)transfer reactions calculated using adiabatic wave *** target nuclei included both stable and unstable nuclei,and the incident energies reached 200 *** results were compared with experimental data and predictions using the phenomenological global optical potential of Koning and Delaroche,the KD02 ***,we found that the micro-scopic WLH potential described the(p,d)reaction angular distributions similarly to the phenomenological KD02 potential;however,the former was slightly better than the latter for radioactive *** average,the obtained spectroscopic factors(SFs)using both microscopic and phenomenological potentials were similar when the incident energies were below approxi-mately 120 ***,their difference tended to increase at higher incident energies,which was particularly apparent for the doubly magic target nucleus 40Ca.

AIM:To define the predictive factors of severe retinopathy of prematurity(ROP)and develop a nomogram for predicting severe ROP in southeast ***:Totally 554 infants diagnosed with ROP hospitalized in the Second Affiliated Hospital and Yuying Children’s Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and hospitalized in Taizhou Women and Children’s Hospital were *** data and 43 candidate predictive factors of ROP infants were collected *** regression model was used to identify predictive factors of severe ROP and to propose a nomogram for individual risk prediction,which was compared with WINROP model and Digirop-Birth ***:Infants from the Second Affiliated Hospital and Yuying Children’s Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University(n=478)were randomly allocated into training(n=402)and internal validation group(n=76).Infants from Taizhou Women and Children’s Hospital were set as external validation group(n=76).Severe ROP were found in 52 of 402 infants,12 of 76 infants,and 7 of 76 infants in training group,internal validation group,and external validation group,*** weight[odds ratio(OR),0.997;95%confidence interval(CI),0.996-0.999;P<0.001],multiple births(OR,1.885;95%CI,1.013-3.506;P=0.045),and non-invasive ventilation(OR,0.288;95%CI,0.146-0.570;P<0.001)were identified as predictive factors for the prediction of severe ROP,by univariate analysis and multivariate *** predicting severe ROP based on the internal validation group,the areas under receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)was 78.1(95%CI,64.2-92.0)for the nomogram,32.9(95%CI,15.3-50.5)for WINROP model,70.2(95%CI,55.8-84.6)for Digirop-Birth *** external validation group,AUC of the nomogram was also higher than that of WINROP model and Digirop-Birth model(80.2 versus 51.1 and 63.4).The decision curve analysis of the nomogram demonstrated better clinical efficacy than that of WINROP model and Digirop-Birth *** calibration curves demonst
