Impacts of Water-Sediment Regulation Scheme on Chromophoric Dissolved Organic Matter in the Lower Yellow River

As a river with more than 3000 reservoirs in its watershed,the Yellow River has been affected by dams not only on the sediment load,but also on the water ***-sediment regulation scheme(WSRS),which has been carried out annually in the Yellow River since 2002,is a typical human activity affecting river water *** dissolved organic matter(CDOM)in river is susceptible to changes in ecological and environmental conditions as well as human ***,we report variations in dissolved organic carbon concentrations,compositions and sources of CDOM in time series samples in the lower Yellow River during *** addition,a parallel factor fluorescence analysis(PARAFAC)method is applied to identify different fluorescent components in water samples during WRSR,showing four major components including tryptophan-like component(C1),microbial humic-like component(C2),terrestrial humic-like component(C3)and tyrosine-like component(C4).In general,C1 increased after water regulation,while C2 and C3 increased after sediment regulation,indicating that the water and sediment released by the dam have different effects on CDOM *** the impacts of the dam,source of CDOM in the lower Yellow River is mainly autochthonous related to microbial activities,and is regulated by the terrestrial input during WSRS *** resuspension inhibits microbial activities and reduces the production of autochthonous ***,human activities especially WSRS,as exemplified here,significantly alter the quality and quantity of CDOM in the lower Yellow River,affecting CDOM dynamics and biogeochemical processes in the estuarine environment.

This paper investigates the cooperative adaptive optimal output regulation problem of continuous-time linear multi-agent *** the multi-agent system dynamics are uncertain,solving regulator equations and the corresponding algebraic Riccati equations is challenging,especially for high-order *** this paper,a novel method is proposed to approximate the solution of regulator equations,i.e.,gradient descent *** is worth noting that this method obtains gradients through online data rather than model information.A data-driven distributed adaptive suboptimal controller is developed by adaptive dynamic programming,so that each follower can achieve asymptotic tracking and disturbance ***,the effectiveness of the proposed control method is validated by simulations.

Data-Driven Learning Control Algorithms for Unachievable Tracking Problems

For unachievable tracking problems, where the system output cannot precisely track a given reference, achieving the best possible approximation for the reference trajectory becomes the objective. This study aims to investigate solutions using the Ptype learning control scheme. Initially, we demonstrate the necessity of gradient information for achieving the best ***, we propose an input-output-driven learning gain design to handle the imprecise gradients of a class of uncertain systems. However, it is discovered that the desired performance may not be attainable when faced with incomplete *** address this issue, an extended iterative learning control scheme is introduced. In this scheme, the tracking errors are modified through output data sampling, which incorporates lowmemory footprints and offers flexibility in learning gain *** input sequence is shown to converge towards the desired input, resulting in an output that is closest to the given reference in the least square sense. Numerical simulations are provided to validate the theoretical findings.

Linear-fitting-based recursive filtering for nonlinear systems under encoding-decoding mechanism

This paper deals with a recursive filtering problem for a class of discrete time-varying nonlinear networked systems with the encoding-decoding mechanism. The linear fitting method is introduced to handle the nonlinearity. An encoding-decoding mechanism is constructed to describe the data transmission process in wireless communication networks(WCNs). To be specific, the measurement outputs are mapped by a quantizer to unique codewords for transmission in WCNs. Then, the codewords are decoded by the decoder to recover the measurement outputs which are sent to the filter. The processing/encoding delay and network delay have been considered. Firstly, on the premise that the upper bound of the filtering error covariance is minimum, the appropriate filtering gain is calculated. Then, the mean square exponential boundedness of the filtering error is analyzed. Finally, two simulation examples are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Discovering Latent Variables for the Tasks With Confounders in Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning

Efficient exploration in complex coordination tasks has been considered a challenging problem in multi-agent reinforcement learning(MARL). It is significantly more difficult for those tasks with latent variables that agents cannot directly observe. However, most of the existing latent variable discovery methods lack a clear representation of latent variables and an effective evaluation of the influence of latent variables on the agent. In this paper, we propose a new MARL algorithm based on the soft actor-critic method for complex continuous control tasks with confounders. It is called the multi-agent soft actor-critic with latent variable(MASAC-LV) algorithm, which uses variational inference theory to infer the compact latent variables representation space from a large amount of offline ***, we derive the counterfactual policy whose input has no latent variables and quantify the difference between the actual policy and the counterfactual policy via a distance function. This quantified difference is considered an intrinsic motivation that gives additional rewards based on how much the latent variable affects each agent. The proposed algorithm is evaluated on two collaboration tasks with confounders, and the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of MASAC-LV compared to other baseline algorithms.

Apoptosis of Human Pancreatic Carcinoma Cells Induced By All-Trans Retinoic Acid and Interferon

Objective： To investigate the apoptosis of human pancreatic carcinoma PC3 cells induced by the combination of all-trans retinoic acid （ATRA） with interferon alpha （IFN-α）. Methods： PC3 cells were treated with ATRA and IFN-α. The inhibitory rate of PC3 cell proliferation was detected using MTT method. Cellular apoptosis was determined with flow cytometry. The percentage of PC3 cell apoptosis was assayed using TUNEL methods. Results： ATRA and IFN-α could inhibit cellular proliferation and induces cellular apoptosis of PC3 cells. The inhibitory effect was stronger when the ATRA and IFN-α were combined as a therapy. Conclusion： ATRA inhibits the proliferation of PC3 cells and induce the apoptosis of PC3 cells. The combination of IFN-α with ATRA may enhance these effects on PC3 cells.

Research on the Dynamic Compressibility of Polyurethane Microcellular Elastomer and its Application for Impact Resistance

The packaging materials with cushioning performance are used to prevent the internal contents from being damaged by the impact and vibration of external forces. The polyurethane microcellular elastomers (PUMEs) can absorb energy through cell collapse and molecular chain creep. In this study, PUMEs with different densities were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, dynamic mechanical analysis and dynamic compression tests. PUMEs exhibited significant impact resistance and the maximum peak stress attenuation ratio reached 73.33%. The protective equipment was made by PUME with the optimal density of 600 kg/m3, and then the acceleration sensing device installed with the same protective equipment fell from a height of 3, 5 and 10 m to evaluate the energy-absorbing property and reusability of PUMEs. The results showed that PUMEs equipment reduced the peak acceleration of the device by 93.84%, with a maximum deviation of 9% between actual test and simulation, and shortened the impact time of first landing by 57.39%. In addition, the equipment PUMEs equipment could effectively reduce the stress on the protected items.
