BACKGROUND Fibrous dysplasia(FD)is a developmental hamartomatous bone disease characterized by a blend of fibrous and osseous *** rarely malignant,the tumor can vary from being small and asymptomatic,to a fairly large sized lesion,progressing gradually,compromising occlusion and facial *** approach depends on the stage of skeletal *** primarily involves surgical management for stabilizing the disease ***-surgical comprehensive dental treatment is necessary for restoring form and function of the jaws and *** article describes comprehensive orthodontic management of severe malocclusion in a surgically operated case of FD *** SUMMARY A 19-year female presented with a chief complaint of excessive gingival display when *** history included swelling of gums around the upper right front teeth,diagnosed at the age of 15 as FD of the right anterior maxillary segment and treated with surgical recontouring of the dysplastic *** clinical and radiological examinations showed adequate post-surgical *** surgically treated dysplastic area presented with right canting of the maxillary anterior occlusal *** maxillary teeth were torqued palatally,with the root of the right maxillary canine exposed *** discuss sequential management of the associated malocclusion with comprehensive fixed orthodontics,along with special precautions taken to prevent reactivation of the quiescent and healed *** The adequate healing of fibro-dysplastic bone post-surgery must be allowed before initiating orthodontic tooth movement in the dysplastic *** follow-ups are needed to monitor stability of occlusion and any relapse of the lesion.

The polycrystalline Na_(2)SmV_(5)O_(15)(NSV),a new member of the tungsten bronze(TB)family,was prepared by a mixed-oxide *** room-temperature X-ray diffraction(XRD)confirmed the formation of single phase compound with orthorhombic crystal *** scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis indicated that the compound has homogeneous micrograph with a uniform distribution of small grains over the entire surface of the *** analysis of impedance spectra of NSV in a low-temperature range(-100℃to 100℃)at different frequencies exhibited interesting electrical properties like the contribution of bulk effect in conduction *** study of imaginary part of the impedance at different temperatures showed existence of relaxation peak with its shift towards higher frequency on increasing *** suggested the presence of frequency and temperature dependent relaxation process in the *** loss peak spectra were found to abide by Arrhenius law with small activation energy of 0.12 *** temperature dependence of AC and DC electrical conductivity(σ_(AC) and σ_(DC))was also obtained.

We carried out an ethno-medico-biological investigation in the interior of Bhadrak district, Odisha, India to explore the therapeutic use of traditional plants/animals by local inhabitants. The villagers and rural people used plant and animal species as medicine. We recorded therapeutic use of 18 plant species of 13 families and 12 animal species of seven taxonomic categories. Different plant/animal parts like bark, leaf, flower, seed, stem, root, whole plant, oil, blood, milk, urine and flesh were reported as used in raw or cooked form against 17 specific diseases. Prominent diseases treated by plant/animal remedies were asthma, cardiovascular ailments, diabetes, epilepsy, jaundice, malaria, skin disorder and rheumatism. This study provides a better database for future studies.

Influence of Temperature on Equilibrium, Kinetic and Thermodynamic Parameters of Biosorption of Cr(VI) onto Fish Scales as Suitable Biosorbent

In this work the potential of fish scales as a suitable biosorbent for removal of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solutions was investigated at various temperatures. The influence of temperature on equilibrium, kinetics as well as thermodynamic parameters was investigated. Various isotherm models such as Langmuir, Freundlich, R - P, D - R, Temkin and Halsey were used for the mathematical description of the biosorption of Cr(VI) ions onto fish scales. It was observed that Freundlich model exhibited the best fit to experimental data. Amongst the various kinetic models tested, the pseudo-first-order kinetic model represented the best correlation for the biosorption of Cr(VI) onto fish scales at various temperatures. In addition, various thermodynamic parameters such as ?Go, ?Ho and ?So were also determined. The biosorption of Cr(VI) was found to be a spontaneous and endothermic process.

The evolution of the earth is marked by development of more than 70% of the present day continents during Archean. The Archean - Proterozoic boundary is characterized by continental amalgamation, and subsequent breaking and development of worldwide glaciations. The Paleoproterozoic time is characterized by change in atmospheric oxygen and intense biogenic activity during the early part, and amal- gamation of the continents to form the supercontinent ＂Columbia＂, development of sulphidic ocean chemistry and disappearance of major BIF deposit formation towards the later part.

A study of flow characteristics of blast furnace slag helps determine its softening and flow (liquid-mobility) temperatures. The slag with a narrow difference between the two temperatures is termed a “Short Slag”. Its formation ensures higher rates of slag-metal reactions with the trickle of the slag soon after its formation exposing fresh mass for faster reactions, the trickling slag, creating fresh interfaces facilitating slag-metal exchanges. In the present work, a novel technique is adopted to determine the flow characteristics of blast furnace slag obtained from different industrial blast furnaces. It is seen that the results so obtained agree very closely with the values obtained from adopting conventional methods of determining the liquidus temperature using “slag atlas”. It is observed that under the range of compositions studied a high C/S ratio combined with a high MgO content in the slag is beneficial to the B.F. process as it renders a “short slag”.

Smart city-aspiring urban areas should have a number of necessary elements in place to achieve the intended *** controlling and management of traffic conditions,increased safety and surveillance,and enhanced incident avoidance and management should be top priorities in smart city *** the same time,Vehicle License Plate Number Recognition(VLPNR)has become a hot research topic,owing to several real-time applications like automated toll fee processing,traffic law enforcement,private space access control,and road traffic *** VLPNR is a computer vision-based technique which is employed in the recognition of automobiles based on vehicle number *** current research paper presents an effective Deep Learning(DL)-based VLPNR called DLVLPNR model to identify and recognize the alphanumeric characters present in license *** proposed model involves two main stages namely,license plate detection and Tesseract-based character *** detection of alphanumeric characters present in license plate takes place with the help of fast RCNN with Inception V2 ***,the characters in the detected number plate are extracted using Tesseract Optical Character Recognition(OCR)*** performance of DL-VLPNR model was tested in this paper using two benchmark databases,and the experimental outcome established the superior performance of the model compared to other methods.

The R-spondin family of proteins are Wnt agonists, and the complete embryonic disruption of Rspo2 results in skeletal developmental defects that recapitulate the phenotype observed with Lrp5/6 deficiency. Previous work has shown that R-spondin-2(Rspo2, RSPO2) is both highly expressed in Wnt-stimulated pre-osteoblasts and its overexpression induces osteoblast differentiation in the same cells, supporting its putative role as a positive autocrine regulator of osteoblastogenesis. However, the role of Rspo2 in regulating osteoblastogenesis and bone formation in postnatal bone has not been explored. Here we show that limb-bud progenitor cells from Rspo2 knockout mice undergo reduced mineralization during osteoblastogenesis in vitro and have a corresponding alteration in their osteogenic gene expression profile. We also generated the first Rspo2 conditional knockout(Rspo2 floxed) mouse and disrupted Rspo2 expression in osteoblast-lineage cells by crossing to the Osteocalcin-Cre mouse line(OcnCre + Rspo2 ^(f/f)). Ocn-Cre + Rspo2 f/fmale and female mice at 1, 3, and 6 months were examined. Ocn-Cre + Rspo2 f/fmice are decreased in overall body size compared to their control littermates and have decreased bone mass. Histomorphometric analysis of1-month-old mice revealed a similar number of osteoblasts and mineralizing surface per bone surface with a simultaneous decrease in mineral apposition and bone formation rates. Consistent with this observation, serum osteocalcin in 3-month-old Ocn-Cre +Rspo2 f/fwas reduced, and bone marrow-mesenchymal stem cells from Ocn-Cre + Rspo2 f/fmice undergo less mineralization in ***, gene expression analysis and immunohistochemistry of mature bone shows reduced beta-catenin signaling in Ocn-Cre +Rspo2 f/f. Overall, RSPO2 reduces osteoblastogenesis and mineralization, leading to reduced bone mass.
