The pandemic situation in 2020 brought about a‘digitized new normal’and created various issues within the current education *** of the issues is the monitoring of students during online examination situations.A system to determine the student’s eye gazes during an examination can help to eradicate *** this work,we track the users’eye gazes by incorporating twelve facial landmarks around both eyes in conjunction with computer vision and the HAAR *** aim to implement eye gaze detection by considering facial landmarks with two different Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)models,namely the AlexNet model and the VGG16 *** proposed system outperforms the traditional eye gaze detection system which only uses computer vision and the HAAR classifier in several evaluation metric *** proposed system is accurate without the need for complex ***,it can be implemented in educational institutes for the fair conduct of examinations,as well as in other instances where eye gaze detection is required.

Development of a set of SSR markers for genetic polymorphism detection and interspecific hybrid jute breeding

Corchorus capsularis(white jute) and C. olitorius(dark jute) are the two principal cultivated spedes of jute that produce natural bast fiber of commercial importance. We have identified 4509 simple sequence repeat(SSR) loci from 34,163 unigene sequences of C. capsularis to develop a non-redundant set of 2079 flanking primer pairs. Among the SSRs, trinudeotide repeats were most frequent(60%) followed by dinucleotide repeats(37.6%). Annotation of the SSR-containing unigenes revealed their putative functions in various biological and molecular processes, including responses to biotic and abiotic signals. Eighteen expressed gene-derived SSR(eSSR) markers were successfully mapped to the existing single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) linkage map of jute,providing additional anchor points. Amplification of 72% of the 74 randomly selected primer pairs was successful in a panel of 24 jute accessions, comprising five and twelve accessions of *** and C. olitorius, respectively, and seven wild jute spedes. Forty-three primer pairs produced an average of 2.7 alleles and 58.1% polymorphism in a panel of 24 jute accessions. The mean PIC value was 0.34 but some markers showed PIC values higher than 0.5, suggesting that these markers can efficiently measure genetic diversity and serve for mapping of quantitative trait loci(QTLs) in jute. A primer polymorphism survey with parents of a wide-hybridized population between a cultivated jute and its wild relative revealed their efficacy for interspecific hybrid identificatioii. For ready accessibility of jute eSSR primers, we compiled all information in a user-friendly web database, JuteMarkerdb(http://***/) for the first time in *** eSSR resource in jute is expected to be of use in characterization of germplasm, interspecific hybrid and variety identification, and marker-assisted breeding of superior-quality jute.

Background： The Y chromosome in mammal is paternally inherited and harbors genes related to male fertility and spermatogenesis. The unique intra-chromosomal recombination pattern of Y chromosome and morphological difference of this chromosome between Bos taurus and Bos indicus make it an ideal model for studying structural variation, especially in crossbred （Bos taurus x Bos indicus） bulls. Copy Number Variation （CNV） is a type of genomic structural variation that gives information complementary to SNP data. The purpose of this study was to find out copy number differences of four Y chromosomal spermatogenesis-related candidate genes in genomic DNA of crossbred and purebred Indicine bulls. Result： Four Y chromosomal candidate genes of spermatogenesis namely, sex determining gene on Ychromosome （SRY）, DEAD box po/ypeptide 3-Y chromosome （DDX3 Y）, Ubiquidn specific peptidase 9, Y-linked （ usPgY）, testis-specific protein on Y chromosome （TSPY） were evaluated. Absolute copy numbers of Y chromosomal genes were determined by standard curve-based quantitative real time PCR. Copy numbers of SRYand TSPYgenes per unit amount of genomic DNA are higher in crossbred than Indicine bulls. However, no difference was observed in DDX3Yand usPgYgene copy numbers between two groups. Conclusion： The present study demonstrates that the structural organization of Y chromosomes differs between crossbred and Indicine bulls which are reproductively healthy as observed from analysis of semen attributes. The absolute copy numbers of SRY and TSPY genes in unit mass of genomic DNA of crossbred bulls are significantly higher than Indicine bulls. No alteration in absolute copies ofDDX3Yand usPgYgene was found between the genome of crossbred and Indicine bulls. This study suggests that the DDX3Yand USPgYare likely to be single copy genes in the genome of crossbred and Indicine bulls and variation in Y chromosome length between crossbred and Indicine bulls may be due to the copy number variation of

This work investigates the degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid(2,4-D)using UV irradiation and the UV-H_(2)O_(2) advanced oxidation process(AOP).For UV irradiation at 253.7 nm,~66%degradation was observed for a fluence of 20 J cm^(-2) and the apparent fluence-based,pseudo-first-order rate constant for 2,4-D was 5.77(±0.66)×10^(-5) cm^(2) mJ^(-1).With the UV-H2O2 AOP,approximately 97%degradation was observed for a fluence of 700mJ cm^(-2).Due to production of hydroxyl radicals,the apparent fluencebased rate constant was 100 times higher than that for direct UV *** effects of H2O2 dose,initial 2,4-D concentration,and water quality parameters,including pH(4e8),alkalinity(0e5mM HCO3),nitrate concentration(0e1mMas NO3),and ionic strength(0e17mM as NaCl),were *** observed rate constants were dependent on pH,alkalinity,and nitrate *** degradation of 2,4-D by the UV-H2O2 systemwas also examined in a real surface *** observed fluence-based rate constant in the surface water matrix was 2.6(±0.3)×10^(-3) cm^(2) mJ^(-1),and this value was similar to a distilled water matrix containing the same alkalinity and *** addition,the biodegradability of UV and UV-H_(2)O_(2) treated wastewater increased with irradiation time,suggesting that transformation products can be degraded by biological *** on this study,the UV-H_(2)O_(2) process represents a viable treatment method to transform 2,4-D into benign products.

Large-area polycrystalline diamond(PCD)coatings are important for fields such as thermal management,optical windows,tribological moving mechanical assemblies,harsh chemical environments,biological sensors,*** plasma chemical vapor deposition(MPCVD)is a standard technique to grow high-quality PCD films over large area due to the absence of contact between the reactive species and the filament or the chamber ***,the existence of temperature gradients during growth may compromise the desired uniformity of the final diamond *** the present work,a thick PCD coating was deposited on a 100-mm silicon substrate inside a 915-MHz reactor;the temperature gradient resulted in a non-uniform diamond *** attempt was made to relate the local temperature variation during deposition and the different properties of the final *** was found that there was large instability inside the system,in terms of substrate temperature(as high asΔT=212℃),that resulted in a large dispersion of the diamond coating’s final properties:residual stress(-15.8 GPa to+6.2 GPa),surface morphology(octahedral pyramids with(111)planes to cubo-octahedrals with(100)flat top surfaces),thickness(190μm to 245μm),columnar growth of diamond(with appearance of variety of nanostructures),nucleation side hardness(17 GPa to 48 GPa),quality(Raman peak FWHM varying from 5.1 cm^(-1) to 12.4 cm^(-1) with occasional splitting).This random variation in properties over large-area PCD coating may hamper reproducible diamond growth for any meaningful technological application.

A compliant tower is modeled as a partially dry, partially tapered, damped Timoshenko beam with the superstructure modeled as an eccentric tip mass, and a non-classical damped boundary at the base. The foundation is modeled as a combination of a linear spring and a torsional spring, along with parallel linear and torsional dampers(Kelvin-Voigt model). The superstructure adds to the kinetic energy of the system without affecting the potential energy, thereby reducing the natural frequencies. The weight of the superstructure acts as an axial compressive load on the beam, reducing its natural frequencies further. The empty space factor due to the truss-type structure of the tower is included. The effect of shear deformation and rotary inertia are included in the vibration analysis; with the non-uniform beam mode-shapes being a weighted sum of the uniform beam mode-shapes satisfying the end condition. The weights are evaluated by the Rayleigh-Ritz(RR) method, and verified using finite element method(FEM). The weight of the superstructure acts as an axial compressive load on the beam. Kelvin-Voigt model of structural damping is included.A part of the structure being underwater, the virtual added inertia is included to calculate the wet natural frequencies. A parametric study is done for various magnitudes of tip mass and various levels of submergence. The computational efficiency and accuracy of the Rayleigh-Ritz method, as compared to the FEA, has been demonstrated. The advantage of using closed-form trial functions is clearly seen in the efficacy of calculating the various energy components in the RR method.

AIM:To investigate the changing pattern of different histological parameters occurring in the stomach tissue of Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) infected tribal populations and duodenal ulcer patients among ethnic Bengalis and correlation of the genotypes of H pylori with different histological *** enrolled into this study between 2002 and 2004. Among them,72 had clinical features of duodenal ulcer (DU) from ethnic Bengali population and 40 were asymptomatic ethnic tribals. Endoscopic gastric biopsy samples were processed for histology,genotyping and rapid urease test. Histologically,haematoxylin and eosin staining was applied to assess the pathomorphological changes and a modified Giemsa staining was used for better detection of H pylori. For intestinal metaplasia,special stainings,i.e. Alcian blue periodic acid-Schiff and high iron diamine-Alcian blue staining,were performed. PCR was performed on bacterial DNA to characterize the presence or absence of virulence-associated genes,like cagA,and distribution of different alleles of vacA and iceA. RESULTS:Intraglandular neutrophil infiltration,a hallmark of activity of gastritis,was present in 34 (94%) of tribals (TRs) and 42 (84%) of DU individuals infected with H pylori. Lymphoid follicles and aggregates,which are important landmarks in H pylori infection,were positive amongst 15 (41%) of TRs and 20 (40%) of DU subjects. Atrophic changes were observed in 60% and 27.7%,respectively,among DU cases and tribals (P > 0.003). Metaplastic changes were detected in low numbers in both groups. Moderate to severe density distribution of H pylori in the gastric mucosa was 63% among TRs,whereas it was 62% in DU subjects. There were no significant differences in the distribution of virulence-associated genes like cagA,vacA and iceA of H pylori strains carried by these two populations.
