Objective:To investigate the antioxidant properties of starfish Luidia ***:The crude ethanol extract was partially purified using liquid-liquid partition and size exclusion *** antioxidant properties of partially purified fractions were determined using the following methods:determination of total phenolic content,DPPH radical scavenging assay,hydrogen peroxide radical scavenging assay and reducing power ***:Among the five fractions,collected fraction 3,4 and 5 exhibited antioxidant *** phenolic content was high(360μg GAE/g)in fraction *** DPPH assay,fraction 3 showed the highest IC_(50)value 0.27 mg/mL and hydrogen peroxide scavenging assay showed the highest IC_(50)value of 0.07 mg/mL in fraction ***,fraction 3 showed the highest absorbance(0.3)in reducing power assay when compared to fraction 4 and ***:In conclusion,the present study shows the extract of starfish Luidia maculata(F3)possesses good antioxidant activity.

Integration of fuel cell stack with an inverter is complex in nature. A number of factors have to be taken into account in designing the inverter as well as during the integration. One of these factors is ripple current which could affect the life of the fuel cell stack if there is fuel and/or oxidant starvation. In this paper an inverter topology is investigated which significantly reduces or even nullifies the ripple content in the fuel cell system. The investigations have been carried out using indigenously developed 1 KW PEMFC stack and a 4 kW PEMFC stack with single and multi phase inverter. The results are presented here.

An organic material, namely, ethyl p-dimethylamino benzoate was crystallized for the first time by solution growth technique using pure and mixed solvents. Growth kinetics and morphology changes with solvents were investigated based on solute –solvent interactions of pure and mixed solvents. An appropriate mixed solvent for high quality crystals with well-defined morphology is reported. The absence of solvent molecules and the presence of various functional groups of the grown sample were qualitatively confirmed by FTIR spectroscopic studies. Thermal properties of the grown sample were analyzed by TG and DTA analysis. Mechanical properties of the EDMAB crystal were investigated by micro hardness studies. Moreover, the grown crystal shows high transparency in the visible and near IR regions. The material shows relatively high SHG efficiency than that of KDP.

Palladium-catalyzed carboxylative Suzuki coupling reactions of benzyl chlorides with allyl pinacol-borate were successfully conducted in the absence of any extra ligand to produce β,γ-unsaturated esters in satisfactory to good yields. The carboxylative Suzuki coupling reaction proceeded smooth-ly under mild conditions in the presence of palladium nanoparticles generated in situ through the formation of a π-benzylpalladium chloride intermediate.

Doped lead-zirconate-titanate(PZT)thin films are preferred for the development of micro-electro-mechanical systems(MEMS)-based acoustic sensors because of their inherent higher dielectric and piezoelectric *** process is used to develop such MEMS devices which is highly complex even for undoped PZT thin films;therefore,the problem is further cumbersome for doped PZT thin films due to the presence of added dopant elements and their associated *** paper presents patterning of strontium(Sr)and lanthanum(La)co-doped PZT thin film(PSLZT)deposited on platinized silicon substrate using wet and dry etching processes for fabricating a diaphragm structure with thickness of 15-25μm and diameter of 1.4-2 mm,suitable for acoustic sensing *** effects of various etching conditions have been studied and the results are *** is found that the dry etching is the most suited process for realizing the piezoelectric MEMS structure due to its higher etching *** appreciable etching rate of 260-270 nm/min with smooth vertical sidewalls is *** silicon diaphragm with patterned PSLZT thin film is found to retain more than 80%of its dielectric and piezoelectric coefficients and has a resonance of 1.43 MHz.

As per the entail in wireless communication, the ever increasing switching speeds of digital devices pose significant challenges. Signal quality is more important for high speed products and the signal integrity must ensure reliable transmission where signal integrity is a measure of the quality of an electrical signal. A high speed differential signal will result in signal integrity issues such as crosstalk and radiated emission. One of the solutions to suppress radiated emission is defected ground pattern. This paper introduces a novel trident incurvature shaped defected ground structure to suppress radiated emission that arises in high speed differential signal. The proposed defected ground structure is implemented using Ansoft HFSS simulation tool and its performance is quantified in terms of scattering parameters. The proposed trident incurvature shaped defected ground pattern reduces near end coupling and far end coupling by more than 6 dB and 2 dB respectively. It also provides better return loss and insertion loss in the frequency range 1 - 6 GHz.

＜正＞ This paper demonstrates the implementation of field-oriented control and rotor current estimation of an induction machine. A mathematical model was developed in Matlab/Simulink. A control system was implemented on a three-phase wound field induction motor to confirm the proposed method and estimated rotor currents. A dSPCAE embedded real time controller is used to implement the control and experimental results have been obtained to confirm the proposed method.

Background: Era of contraception, abortions, [20th, 21st centuries] implemented as family welfare schemes, witnessed increased global incidence of Type 2 diabetes mellitus, systemic hypertension. Objectives: Altruistic association of contraception [if any], with increasing diabetes mellitus, systemic hypertension, was sought after. Methods: In 2012, retrospective analysis of, prevalence of diabetes mellitus, systemic hypertension, in 350 patients of 20 - 35 years, 35 - 50 years, >50 years, age groups, data collected by convenient, stratified random sampling, from different geographical locations, between 2003-2012 and its association with presence, absence of contraception, abortion was undertaken;simultaneously, serum estrogen levels obtained from 105 patients, were also analysed. Results: 10 - 45 fold increase in Type 2 diabetes mellitus was seen in contraceptive users of >20 years to >50 years;15 - 50 fold increase in incidence of systemic hypertension was seen in contraceptive users of >20 years to >50 years. Endogenous estrogen was reduced below normal in 75% of contraceptive users, and 25% of contraceptive users had low normal serum estrogen. Cholesterol deprived diet, due to decreased synthesis of endogenous estrogen, androgen also was associated with 50% increase in diabetes mellitus, systemic hypertension. Conclusion: Concept is acquired contraception, abortion status, with smashed fragmentation of germ cells, reduced endogenous estrogen, androgen, results in defaulted genomic repertoire, deranged cell metabolism, increased incidence of diabetes mellitus, systemic hypertension as part of metabolic syndrome. Contraception reversal declined the diseases as a cause and effective phenomenon.

15 patients after the middle of 2018, during the initial onset of the epidemic of identified Nipah viral infection (fruits borne virus) in adjacent state, presented with fever, acute coma, delirium, movement disorders, required referral to district headquarters hospital, for virology confirmation, and management. 135 mostly afebrile patients, who refused referral to government hospital, for virology confirmation, presented with symptoms of mainly subacute pan encephalitis, over the past 14 months;90% presented with conglomeration of vertigo, staring, personality changes, imbalance in gait, difficulty to walk, bilateral drooling of saliva, tremors, confusion, altered sensorium, nausea, vomiting;83% presented with dysarthria, 28% presented with symptoms of raised intracranial pressure-mimicking accelerated, malignant hypertensive emergencies, bradycardia, vomiting;decreased vision in 4.6%, myoclonic jerks in 58%, choreoathetosis in 8%. All of them could not afford INR 10000 for virology confirmation. Fruits borne viral subacute pan encephalitis, can present as subacute neurovascular syndrome, simulating ischemic stroke, mediated by Hapten triggered autoimmune angiopathy (blood borne) with resultant bilateral, asymmetrical multifocal, infarcts, cerebritis with consequent edema, requiring recognition, successful treatment with acyclovir, antiedema, antiepileptic measures and not antiplatelets, since the etiology is inflammatory and not degenerative. Promoting awareness to steam cook, pressure cook, cook with coconut oil (pie) fruits, steaming fresh fruit juices, before consumption will prevent incidence of fruits borne, tobacco leaves borne, and endemic viral infection. Economical screening card tests for Nipah fruits borne virus, will enable early detection, authenticate notification, early recognition treatment of subacute pan encephalitis presenting as neurovascular syndrome, mimicking ischemic stroke Global aborted blood pollution, contraceptive menstrual blood poll
