Echinatin inhibits tumor growth and synergizes with chemotherapeutic agents against human bladder cancer cells by activating p38 and suppressing Wnt/β-catenin pathways

Bladder cancer (BC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in the urinary *** to the poor prognosis and high mortality rate of the disease,it is urgent to develop new drugs with high efficacy and low toxicity to treat *** (Ecn) is a bioactive natural flavonoid oflicorice that has attracted special attention for its promising anti-tumor ***,we explored the inhibitory effects of Echinatin on BC cells and probed the possible molecular *** found that Ecnin vitro inhibited the proliferation,migration,and invasion,arrested the cell cycle at the G2/M phase,and promoted apoptosis in BC ***,Ecn had no notable cytotoxicity towards human normal *** subsequently confirmed that Ecn restrained xenograft tumor growth and metastasis of BC cells in vivo .Mechanistically,Ecn activated the p38 signaling pathway but inactivated the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,while over-expression of β-catenin and the p38 inhibitor both attenuated the inhibitory effects of Ecn on BC ***,Ecn combined with cisplatin (DDP) or gemcitabine (Gem) had synergistic inhibitory effects on BC *** summary,our results validate that Ecn inhibits the tumor growth of human BC cells via p38 and Wnt/β-catenin signaling *** meaningfully,our results suggest a potential strategy to enhance DDP- or Gem-induced inhibitory effects on BC cells by combining with Ecn.

Tetracycline repressor(TetR)family regulators(TFRs)are the largest group of DNA-binding transcription factors and are widely distributed in bacteria and *** play vital roles in controlling the expression of various genes and regulating diverse physiological ***,a TFR protein Pseudomonas virulence regulator A(PvrA),was identified from Pseudomonas aeruginosa as the transcriptional activator of genes involved in fatty acid utilization and bacterial ***,we show that PvrA can simultaneously bind to multiple pseudo-palindromic sites and upregulate the expression levels of target ***-electron microscopy(cryo-EM)analysis indicates the simultaneous DNA recognition mechanism of PvrA and suggests that the bound DNA fragments consist of a distorted B-DNA double *** crystal structure and functional analysis of PvrA reveal a hinge region that secures the correct domain motion for recognition of the promiscuous ***,our results showed that mutations disrupting the regulatory hinge region have differential effects on biofilm formation and pyocyanin biosynthesis,resulting in attenuated bacterial ***,these findings will improve the understanding of the relationship between the structure and function of the TetR family and provide new insights into the mechanism of regulation of *** virulence.

Incidence and mortality of liver cancer in Henan province in 2015

The development of ultrafine particles provided a new way to solve problems in the fields of energy,environment,and medicine,and had become one of the most promising ***,the application of ultrafine particles required the development of cleaner,greener,and more efficient preparation *** new freeze-dissolving technology has been applied in manufacturing of KHCO_(3)ultrafine particles,with an aqueous solution of 0.02-0.1 g KHCO_(3)/g *** ice particles were formed after dripping the solution into liquid *** antisolvent ethanol was used to dissolve the ice spherical template at a temperature below 273.15 K,and the pre-formed KHCO_(3)ultrafine particles inside the ice template remained in the ethanol aqueous *** ice particles were put into the freeze dryer to isolate the ultrafine KHCO_(3)*** with the particles produced with traditional freeze-drying technology,the ultrafine powder/particles produced by the freeze-dissolving technology were smaller with narrower size *** freeze-dissolving technology has demonstrated a much more sustainable and efficient manufacturing process than the traditional freeze-drying *** addition,the influence of the concentrations of KHCO_(3)and the sizes of ice particles were investigated with the discussions of mechanisms.

Industrial Carbon Emission Distribution and Regional Joint Emission Reduction:A Case Study of Cities in the Pearl River Basin,China

China’s low-carbon development path will make significant contributions to achieving global sustainable development *** to the diverse natural and economic conditions across different regions in China,there exists an imbalance in the distribution of car-bon ***,regional cooperation serves as an effective means to attain low-carbon *** study examined the pattern of carbon emissions and proposed a potential joint emission reduction strategy by utilizing the industrial carbon emission intens-ity(ICEI)as a crucial *** utilized social network analysis and Local Indicators of Spatial Association(LISA)space-time trans-ition matrix to investigate the spatiotemporal connections and discrepancies of ICEI in the cities of the Pearl River Basin(PRB),China from 2010 to *** primary drivers of the ICEI were determined through geographical detectors and multi-scale geographically weighted *** results were as follows:1)the overall ICEI in the Pearl River Basin is showing a downward trend,and there is a significant spatial imbalance.2)There are numerous network connections between cities regarding the ICEI,but the network structure is relatively fragile and unstable.3)Economically developed cities such as Guangzhou,Foshan,and Dongguan are in the center of the network while playing an intermediary role.4)Energy consumption,industrialization,per capita GDP,urbanization,science and techno-logy,and productivity are found to be the most influential variables in the spatial differentiation of ICEI,and their combination in-creased the explanatory power of the geographic variation of ***,through the analysis of differences and connections in urban carbon emissions under different economic levels and ICEI,the study suggests joint carbon reduction strategies,which are centered on carbon transfer,financial support,and technological assistance among cities.

The reaction order plays a crucial role in evaluating the response rate of ***,the conventional two-scale model typically assumes that the reaction order is constant as one,which can lead to significant deviations from *** address this issue,this study proposes a novel multi-order dynamic model for acid-rock reaction by combining rotating disk experimental data with theoretical *** numerical simulations,this model allows for the investigation of the impact of acidification conditions on different orders of reaction,thereby providing valuable insights for on-site *** analysis reveals that higher response orders require higher optimal acid liquid flow rates,and lower optimal H+diffusion coefficients,and demonstrate no significant correlation with acid ***,it is recommended to increase the displacement and use high-viscosity acid for reservoirs with high calcite content,while reducing the displacement and using low-viscosity acid for reservoirs with high dolomite content.

High performance photodegradation resistant PVA@TiO_(2)/carboxyl-PES self-healing reactive ultrafiltration membrane

The occurrence of ultrafiltration(UF)membrane fouling frequently hampers the sustainable advancement of UF *** self-cleaning UF membranes can effectively alleviate the problem of membrane ***,the self-cleaning process may accelerate membrane *** these concerns,we present an innovative design concept for composite self-healing materials based on self-cleaning UF *** begin,TiO_(2)nanoparticles were incorporated into the polymer molecular structure via molecular design,resulting in the synthesis of TiO_(2)/carboxyl-polyether sulfone(PES)hybrid ***,the nonsolvent-induced phase inversion technique was employed to prepare a novel of UF ***,a polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)hydrogel coating was applied to the hybrid UF membrane surface to create PVA@TiO_(2)/carboxyl-PES self-healing reactive UF *** establishing a covalent bond,the TiO_(2)nanoparticles were effectively and uniformly dispersed within the UF membrane,leading to exceptional self-cleaning ***,the water-absorbing and swelling properties of PVA hydrogel,along with its capacity to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules,resulted in UF membranes with improved hydrophilicity and active self-healing *** results demonstrated that the water contact angle of PVA@5%TiO_(2)/carboxyl-PES UF membrane was 43.1°.Following a 1-h exposure to simulated solar exposure,the water flux recovery ratio increased from 48.16%to 81.03%.Moreover,even after undergoing five cycles of 12-h simulated sunlight exposure,the UF membranes exhibited a consistent retention rate of over 97%,thus fully demonstrating their exceptional self-cleaning,antifouling,and selfhealing *** anticipate that the self-healing reactive UF membrane system will serve as a pioneering and comprehensive solution for the self-cleaning antifouling challenges encountered in UF membranes while also effectively mitigating the aging effects of reactive

Nucleophilic amino acids as a renewable alternative to petrochemically-derived amines in glycerol epoxy resins

The standard epoxy resin curing agents revealed are from unsustainable petroleum-based sources,which produce poisonous exhaust when *** acids,a bio-based epoxy curing agent with amino and carboxyl groups,are another potential curing ***-soluble epoxy resins cured with lysine(Lys),glutamic acid(Glu),leucine(Leu),and serine(Ser)as amino acids were *** results showed that the water-soluble epoxy resin(glycerol epoxy resins,GER)was cured with Lys and Glu after *** transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopic analysis of the GER-Lys showed that the amino and carboxyl groups of Lys primarily reacted with the epoxy groups of *** elongation at break of Lys-cured GER(GER-Lys)cured at 70℃ with a molar ratio of 1꞉0.75 was 75.32%.The fact that elongations at break of GER-Lys(79.43%)were higher than those of GER-Glu(17.33%),respectively supports the decrease of crosslinking density by the amino acid-cured GER *** potential of Lys and Glu alternatives for petrochemical amines is demonstrated and provides promising opportunities for industrial application.
