This study is aimed at the development of a statistical model for forecasting heavy rain in South Korea. For the 3-hour weather forecast system, the 10 km×10 km area-mean amount of rainfall at 6 stations （Seoul, Daejeon, Gangreung, （Jwangju, Busan, and Jeju） in South Korea are used. And the corresponding 45 synoptic factors generated by the numerical model are used as potential predictors. Four statistical forecast models （linear regression model, logistic regression model, neural network model and decision tree model） for the occurrence of heavy rain are based on the model output statistics （MOS） method. They are separately estimated by the same training data. The thresholds are considered to forecast the occurrence of heavy rain because the distribution of estimated values that are generated by each model is too skewed. The results of four models are compared via Heidke skill scores. As a result, the logistic regression model is recommended.

Background Understanding and patterning the possible causal variables of global warming is attributed to the development of effective prevention and mitigation strategies for climate ***,we aimed to pattern and visualize the possible causal variables of global warming and measure the causality between *** We patterned and visualized the time series(103 years,from 1918 to 2020)of global surface temperature(GTemp)data with the gross domestic product(GDP)per capita,human population(Pop),and carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emissions of South Korea using a self-organizing map(SOM)and examined the causable local feature of global warming using the Granger causality(GC)*** time-series data were trained and mapped in 4×4 SOM grids,and causality networks between variables were examined using multivariate Granger test *** SOM patterned 103 years of data,and a dominant cluster contained continuous time-series data from 2007 to ***,the CO_(2)emissions of South Korea were obtained as a predictable unidirectional causal variable for GTemp from GC *** on data from the past 34 years,significant causality(p-value=0.01)was observed with the integrated effect of Pop,GDP,and CO_(2)on *** This study patterned the time-series data using SOM and examined the causal relationship between variables using the GC *** study framework could be used as a reference by future scholars,ecologists,and the United Nations sustainable Development Goals.

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to determine the optimal dietary protein level for juvenile marbled *** semi-purified test diets were formulated to contain different protein levels(CP)including 42.7%,47.4%,53.3%,58.8%,and 64.5%(dry matter),named as CP42.7,CP47.4,CP53.3,CP58.8,and CP64.5,*** hundred and twenty-five juveniles(6.0±0.1 g)were randomly distributed into 15 tanks(300 L tanks),resulting in 35 fish per tank(n-3 tanks).Fish were fed the test diets 5 times per day until *** CP58.8 resulted in the highest gain in weight and the best efficiency in feed utilization among the tested protein levels(Psults of the thermal growth coefficient and feed conversion ratio indicated that the estimated optimum dietary protein level was 58.8%.Taken together,it is suggested that the dietary protein level of 58.8%is optimal for better growth and high efficiency in feed utilization for the juvenile marbled flounder.

Cu/Al bar clad material was fabricated by a drawing process and a subsequent heat *** these processes,intermetallic compounds have been formed at the interface of Cu/Al and have affected its bonding *** of Cu/Al interfaces were observed by OM,SEM and EDX Analyser in order to investigate the bonding properties of the *** to the microstructure a series of diffusion layers were observed at the interface and the thicknesses of diffusion layers have increased with aging time as a result of the diffusion *** interfaces were composed of 3-ply diffusion layers and their compositions were changed with aging time at 400 °*** compositional compounds were revealed to be η2,(θ+η2),(α+θ) intermetallic *** is evident from V-notch impact tests that the growth of the brittle diffusion layers with the increasing aging time directly influenced delamination distance between the Cu sleeve and the Al *** is suggested that the proper holding time at 400 °C for aging as post heat treatment of a drawn Cu/Al bar clad material would be within 1 h.

Mg-Al-Zn-Ca-Y alloys with excellent ignition and corrosion resistances—termed SEN alloys(where the letters"S,""E,"and"N"stand for stainless,environmentally friendly,and non-flammable,respectively)—have been developed *** this study,the microstructure,tensile properties,and high-cycle fatigue properties of an extruded Mg-9.0Al-0.8Zn-0.1Mn-0.3Ca-0.2Y(SEN9)alloy are investigated and compared with those of a commercial Mg-9.0Al-0.8Zn-0.1Mn(AZ91)alloy extruded under the same *** the extruded SEN9 alloy and the extruded AZ91 alloy have a fully recrystallized structure comprising equiaxed grains,but the former has a smaller average grain size owing to the promoted dynamic recrystallization during *** extruded AZ91 alloy contains coarse Mg_(17)Al_(12) discontinuous precipitate(DP)bands parallel to the extrusion direction,which are formed during its cool down after *** contrast,the extruded SEN9 alloy contains relatively fine undissolved Al_(2)Ca,Al_(8)Mn_(4)Y,and Al_(2)Y second-phase particles,which are formed during the solidification stage of the casting *** tensile strength of the extruded SEN9 alloy,which has finer grains and more abundant particles,is slightly higher than that of the extruded AZ91 ***,the difference in their strengths is relatively small because the stronger solid-solution hardening and precipitation hardening effects in the extruded AZ91alloy offset the stronger grain-boundary hardening and dispersion hardening effects in the extruded SEN9alloy to some *** tensile elongation of the extruded AZ91 alloy is significantly lower than that of the extruded SEN9 alloy because the large cracks formed in the DP bands in the former cause its premature *** the extruded SEN9 alloy has higher tensile properties than the extruded AZ91alloy,the high-cycle fatigue life and fatigue strength of the former are shorter and lower,respectively,than those of the *** DP bands in the extruded

The buckling behavior of single layer space structure is very sensitive. The joint rigidity, moreover, is one of the main factors of stability which may determine the entire failure behavior. Thus, the reasonable stiffness of joint system, which is neither total pin assumption nor perfect fix condition, is very important to apply to the real single layer space one. Therefore, the purpose of this work was to investigate the buckling behavior of single layer space structure, using the development of the upgraded stiffness matrix for the joint rigidity. To derive tangential stiffness matrix, a displacement function was assumed using translational and rotational displacement at the node. The geometrical nonlinear analysis was simulated not only with perfect model but also with imperfect one. As a result, the one and two free nodal numerical models were investigated using derived stiffness matrix. It was figured out that the buckling load increases in proportion to joint rigidity with rise-span ratio. The stability of numerical model is very sensitive with the initial imperfection, responding of bifurcation in the structure.

Multicast technology application has been widely utilized in broadband internet. Source authentication is one of the most needs for many multicast applications transferring real-time information such as stream video and online news. Because multicast current services provided to the group members are changed dynamically, data transferring by a group member is not used by the recipient. In order to verify the identity of the sender who sent the packet and to make sure that the data have not been tampered, an optimized source authentication scheme has been proposed to transfer the authentication information not to the next-door packet. The proposed method for multiple packets authenticates the source with a limited number of electronic signatures. The proposed method can reduce overhead compared to the method by adding a digital signature for every packet. In addition, by sending the generated electronic signature to the first packet and the last packet, it prevents the loss of consecutive packets, as well as a source authentication can be provided in real-time services.
