Aim: To determine the seminal concentrations of copper, zinc, iron, cadmium, lead and nickel in bulls, rams, boars, stallions and foxes and study their correlations. Methods: Semen samples were obtained, digested and analyzed by means of the atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Data were analyzed statistically with the student's t-test and Scheffe's test using PC programs SAS and Excel. Results: The seminal copper concentration was significantly higher in ram [(2.49±0.18) mg/kg] and fox [(2.16±0.53) mg/kg] than that in bull [(1.64±0.21) mg/kg], boar [(1.64±0.28) mg/kg] and stallion (0.86 mg/kg). In boar a significantly higher seminal zinc concentration (171.74±65.72) mg/kg] was found in comparison with stallion [(86.20±45.88) mg/kg], bull [(83.15±61.61) mg/kg], ram [( 60.46±35.37) mg/kg] and fox (13.09±5.22) mg/kg]. The iron concentration in semen was significantly higher in ram [(40.32±10.81) mg/kg), bull [(38.04±22.07) mg/kg] and fox [(33.16±24.36) mg/kg] than that in boar [(16.14±10.35) mg/kg] and stallion (12.68 mg/kg). The seminal cadmium concentration was relatively low [(0.05-0.12) mg/kg] in all studied species. The seminal lead concentration was the highest in ram [(0.35±0.68) mg/kg], which was much higher than in fox [(0.08±0.06) mg/kg], bull [(0.06±0.04) mg/kg], stallion [(0.05±0.05) mg/kg] and boar [0.02±0.03) mg/kg]. The level of seminal nickel was significantly higher in fox [(0.35±0.24) mg/kg] and ram [(0.31±0.19) mg/ kg] in comparison with bull [(0.12±0.07) mg/kg] and boar [(0.06±0.08) mg/kg]. The concentration of nickel in the semen of stallion was (0.20±0.24) mg/kg. There was a high positive correlation between seminal iron and zinc in bull (r=0.723) and stallion (r=0.723), between cadmium and lead in ram (r=0.976) and boar (r=0.973) and between iron and cadmium (r=0.783) and iron and lead (r=0.791) in boar. A high negative correlation between seminal nickel and copper in ram (r=-0.709) and between seminal copper and lead in fox (r=-0.854) was found

Objective： Sit-stand desks have been designed to address high daily sitting in work and school environments. The purpose was to determine the daily pattern of use and overall likeability of sit-stand desk over the course of a semester. Participants： A total of 18 subjects （12 standing） completed the 11-week study （week 5-15 of the semester） from january-April, 2016. Methods： Each student in the standing group was given a sit-stand desk to use as they desired. Results： Individual daily standing time ranged from 0-100% of daily attendance time and the daily group average ranged from 2.1-38.4%. Two-thirds of the standing bouts were ≤ 2 min. Perception questionnaire answers were positive for using the desk and their effect on students’ ability to work in class. Conclusions： The results indicate the sit-stand desks were utilized at low levels and for short durations for most participants, but perceptions of desk use remained positive.

The Potential of Simulation to Enhance Nursing students’ Preparation for Suicide Risk Assessment: A Review

Suicide risk assessment is a critical skill in preventing suicide. Yet most nurses do not feel confident in assessing suicide risk. Development of this potentially life-saving skill needs to begin at the undergraduate nursing level. As simulation is an effective pedagogical tool utilised within nursing education, the aim of this paper was to explore the potential of simulation in preparing student nurses’ for suicide risk assessment. Literature was examined to identify what simulation modalities were employed within nursing education and the outcomes associated with these. The findings suggest that to varying degrees all simulation modalities have the potential to decrease student anxiety, and increase student confidence, knowledge and communication skills when working with people at risk of suicide. However the use of Standardised Patient (SP) simulation adds an authenticity to the experience and allows for the assessment of a wider range of human responses, including key nonverbal communication skills. The sense of realism provided by SP allows for more in-depth understanding into the person’s experiences, which is critical in the assessment of a person’s mental health needs and risk of suicide. The majority of simulations identified were located within a mental health setting. Given that student nurses may encounter a person who is suicidal in any clinical setting, further research is needed on simulation which integrates mental health assessments and suicide risk assessment into a variety of clinical areas.

Limiting climate change to 1.5℃ and achieving net-zero emissions would entail substantial carbon dioxide removal(CDR) from the atmosphere by the mid-century,but how much CDR is needed at country level over time is *** purpose of this paper is to provide a detailed description of when and how much CDR is required at country level in order to achieve 1.5℃ and how much CDR countries can carry out *** allocate global CDR pathways among 170 countries according to 6 equity principles and assess these allocations with respect to countries’ biophysical and geophysical capacity to deploy *** global CDR to countries based on these principles suggests that CDR will,on average,represent～4% of nations’ total emissions in 2030,rising to ～17% in ***,equitable allocations of CDR,in many cases,exceed implied land and carbon storage *** estimate～15 % of countries(25)would have insufficient land to contribute an equitable share of global CDR,and ～40% of countries(71)would have insufficient geological storage *** more diverse CDR technologies are developed,the mismatch between CDR liabilities and land-based CDR capacities will lead to global demand for six GtCO2carbon credits from 2020 to *** demonstrates an imperative demand for international carbon trading of CDR.

This paper compares four different power system stabilizers(PSS).The purpose of power system stabilizers is to enhance the damping of low frequency oscillations in power *** conventional power system stabilizer(CPSS)utilizes the rotor speed while the optimal power system stabilizer(OPSS)utilizes the full states of the machine *** sub-optimal power system stabilizer(SOPSS)utilizes partial states of the machine *** fuzzy power system stabilizer(FPSS)uses fuzzy logic theory to provide the required control *** effectiveness of these four different power system stabilizers are compared through the simulation of a single machine connected to an infinite bus.

Introduction: Education and skill enhancement in palliative and end of life care is rarely part of the foundational medical education curriculum. The progress of student physicians tends to be measured by their ability to synthesize and demonstrate basic medical knowledge and clinical skills but offers little assessment of the maturation of attitudes or their values. The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM), immerses second year medical students in a hospice home for 48 hours to enhance students’ perspectives in interprofessional palliative and end of life care. Methods: This project utilized qualitative ethnographic and autobiographic research designs. Two female second year medical students (27 y/o & 26 y/o) were immersed for 48 hours into a local hospice home, sleeping in a bed where others had died, to answer the question: “What is it like for ME to live in the Hospice Home for 48 hours and how does this contribute to my future as a practitioner?” Data were collected in the form of journal notes for pre-fieldwork, fieldwork, and post-fieldwork and included subjective and objective reporting of observations, experiences, and patient/family encounters. Analyses included journal review and thematic categorization and coding through content analysis. Results: Themes common to both students that factored in the research question and their prior stated interest areas of medical humanities and person-centered care at end of life were identified. Three themes were selected for this article: 1) Person-Centered Experiences, 2) Spectrum of Communication, and 3) Introspection: Attitudes and Values. The process of living in the hospice home for 48 hours revealed students’ attitudes about various disease processes, their personal experiences with death and dying, and their assumptions about how patients approach death. Conclusion: This Hospice Home Immersion project provided both an educational approach and learning environment that was effective

Surat city is continuously expanding with industrial development. Despite several flyovers, traffic congestion continues in the heart of city. Therefore, fresh transportation planning is at anvil. Simultaneously, further expansion plan is under consideration to create yet another, the 10th industrial zone. Purpose of this paper is to explore lean management based sustainable transport system for meeting the increasing needs of people and supply-chain. The research examines different mode of transportation like; vehicles on road, rail on the land, and steamers through the sea route to provide connectivity. This study may support the planners of the smart city. The study intends to find how lean management can be integrated to sustainable transport system meeting objectives of lean and sustainability both. Lean management system claims to be capable of eliminating all type of wastes including those associated with transport system. On the other hand, sustainable transport claims to meet the needs of people in personal economic lives, importantly respecting the need of future generations. Therefore, this applied research aims to find a lean and sustainable transport solution. This research work can be seen as descriptive type as it includes survey of location and fact finding enquiries.
