＜正＞ Aim was to compare medication lists in hospital files and discharge letters with information on prescription only medication （POM） use collected during home visits among recently hospitalised patients. Patients were visited within one week after discharge from hospital and interviewed about POM use. Stored drugs were inspected. We compared drug lists in hospital files and discharge letters to the list obtained during the home visit. 83 surgical and 117 medical patients were included （median age 75 years）. 6 patients stored no POM. 194 patients stored 1189 POM. Among the 954 POM reported used at discharge 768 POM （81 % ） were registered in hospital files. Only 453 （47 % ） of used POM were registered in discharge letters. 66 POM users had no medication list in their discharge letter. 63 POM were used in obvious disagreement with prescribed regimen. Patients knew little about side effects and drug interactions. Approximately 1/5 of used POM are unknown to the hospital and half of used POM are not registered in discharge letters. Lack of communication between health care sectors may cause inappropriate drug therapy.

Hepatitis B among Inuit: A review with focus on Greenland Inuit

Hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection is a disease with a highly variable course. Chronic HBV infection may cause end-stage liver disease including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, which is the 3rd most common cause of cancer related death due to the poor prognosis. The prevalence of HBV infection is low in many countries. Still, it remains important due to the potential consequences of the disease. HBV is endemic in the Arctic with serologic markers of chronic HBV infection in up to 29% of the population in some areas in Greenland. Interestingly, Inuit populations rarely show signs of liver disease despite the fact that around half of all Inuit has been exposed to HBV and around 8% of Inuit are chronically infected with HBV. These findings have been consistent in surveys conducted for more than four decades among Arctic Inuit. We thus review HBV infection in the Arctic with focus on Greenland Inuit and compared with Inuit in Canada, Alaska and Siberia. The aspects described include epidemiology and monitoring of the disease, as well as treatment and the risk of liver cancer.

The classic phytohormonescytokinin and auxin play essential roles in the maintenance of stem-cell systems embedded in shoot and root meristems,and exhibit complex functional *** we show that the activity of both hormones directly converges on the promoters of two A-type ARABIDOPSIS RESPONSE REGULATOR(ARR) genes,ARR7 and ARR15,which are negative regulators of cytokininsignalling and have important meristematic *** ARR7 and ARR15 expression in the shoot apical meristem (SAM) is induced by cytokinin,auxin has a negative effect,which is,at least in part, mediated by the AUXIN RESPONSE FACTOR5/MONOPTEROS(MP) transcription factor. Our results provide a mechanistic framework for hormonal control of the apical stem-cell niche and demonstrate how root and shoot stem-cell systems differ in their response to phytohormones.
