Background.Chronic pancreatitis(CP)is characterized.by chronic abd.minal pain and.functional ***,a small subset of patients with prior acute pancreatitis(AP)and.or und.rlying risk factors for d.veloping CP may be pain-free at d.agnosis and.may have a d.fferent clinical *** aimed.to compare the clinical characteristics,outcomes,and.healthcare utilization between CP patients with and.without ***:Reviewed.patients with established.CP were followed.in our Pancreas Center between January 2016 and.April *** without risk factors for d.veloping CP and.or without AP prior to their d.agnosis and.only with incid.ntal rad.ologic features of CP were exclud.d.so as tominimize confound.ng factors of pancreatopathy unrelated.to *** were d.vid.d.into painful and.pain-free groups to analyze d.fferences in d.mographics,outcomes,and.healthcare ***:Of 368 CP patients,49(13.3%)were pain-free at d.agnosis and.had.remained.so for>9 *** were no significant d.fferences in bod. mass ind.x,race,sex,or co-morbid.ties between the two ***-free patients were old.r at d.agnosis(53.9 vs 45.7,P=0.004)and.had.less recurrent AP(RAP)(43.8%vs 72.5%,Pd.less exocrine pancreatic insufficiency(EPI)(34.7%vs 65.7%,Pd.less d.sability(2.2%vs 22.0%,P=0.003),mental illness(20.4%vs 61.0%,Pd.therapeutic interventions(0.0%vs 16.4%,P=0.005)for ***:We d.scribed.a unique subset of patients with und.rlying risk factors for CP and.or prior AP who were painfree at *** were old.r at d.agnosis,had.less EPI and.RAP,and.overall favorable outcomes with minimal resource utilization.

We present a stud. of the pre-protostellar core (PPC) L1498. A series of self-consistent, three-d.mensional continuum rad.ative transfer mod.ls are constructed. The outputs of these mod.ls are convolved.with appropriate telescope beam responses, includ.ng the effect of beam chopping to simulate SCUBA observations. The simulated.observations are compared.with existing observational d.ta. An automated.search is cond.cted.in the multi-d.mensional parameter space to id.ntify the best-fit mod.l. Grid. of mod.ls are constructed.in the vicinity of the best fit in ord.r to und.rstand.the sensitivity/uncertainty of the results. We find.that the source is well fit by a prolate spheroid.of cutoff (and.thus approximately outer) rad.us rcut = 0.073 ± 0.005 pc, axis ratio q = 2.0 ± 0.2, a central luminosity L* -3 Lsun, and.an optical d.pth in the visible of τv = 20 ± 5. We find.that the PPC is illuminated.by two external rad.ation field.: a uniform ISRF of strength sISRF= 0.5 ± 0.25 and.a local plane-parallel rad.ation field.sPPRF = 1.0 ± 0.5. Both of these rad.ation field. are locally attenuated. with τISRF = 1.0 ± 0.25, and.τPPRF = 1.25 ± 0.75, consistent with the fact that L1498 is embed.ed.in a larger cloud. Most interestingly, the d.nsity fall-off at the outer ed.e is extremely steep, having a power law of m > 10. This is effectively a “sharp ed.e” to the PPC, and.together with the constant d.nsity interior, is interpreted.as potential signs of a pressure-confined.core.

Purpose: To examine possible association between heart irradiation and Overall Survival (OS) in lung SBRT patients and to compare observed associations with cardiac toxicity models previously derived in LA-NSCLC patient studies. Materials and Methods: 197 Patients treated with lung SBRT at Mayo Clinic Arizona were selected for this IRB-approved study.
