The Commutator of the Kato Square Root for Second Order Elliptic Operators on R^n

Let L = -div（AV） be a second order divergence form elliptic operator, and A be an accretive, n × n matrix with bounded measurable complex coefficients in R^n. We obtain the Lp bounds for the commutator generated by the Kato square root v/L and a Lipschitz function, which recovers a previous result of Calderon, by a different method. In this work, we develop a new theory for the commutators associated to elliptic operators with Lipschitz function. The theory of the commutator with Lipschitz function is distinguished from the analogous elliptic operator theory.

Rapid maxillary expansion(RME),as a common treatment for craniomaxillofacial deformity,faces the challenge of high relapse rates and unsatisfactory therapeutic *** this study,a standardized Sprague-Dawley(SD)rat RME model was first established with a modified expander as well as retainer design and optimized anterior maxillary expanding force of 100 g which exerted the most synchronized mobility of mid-palatal suture and *** the standardized model,the high relapse rate was proven to be attributed to insufficient osteogenesis in expanded suture,requiring long-term retainer wearing in clinical *** reduce the relapse rate,mesoporous bioactive glass/fibrin glue(MBG/FG)composite hydrogels were developed for an in situ minimal invasive injection that enhance osteogenesis in the expanded *** component of 1 wt%MBG was adopted for enhanced mechanical strength,matched degradation rate and ion dissolution,excellent in vitro biocompatibility and *** of 1%MBG/FG composite hydrogel on osteogenesis in expanded mid-palatal sutures with/without retention were evaluated in the standardized *** results demonstrated that injection of 1%MBG/FG composite hydrogel significantly promoted bone formation within the expanded mid-palatal suture,inhibited osteoclastogenesis and benefited the balance of bone remodeling towards *** of retainer and injectable biomaterial was demonstrated as a promising treatment to reduce relapse rate and enhance osteogenesis after *** model establishment and the composite hydrogel development in this article might provide new insight to other craniomaxillofacial deformity treatment and design of bone-repairing biomaterials with higher regenerative efficiency.

Compacted graphite iron-A material solution for modern diesel engine cylinder blocks and heads

The demands for improved fuel economy,performance and emissions continue to pose challenges for engine designers and the materials they choose. This is particularly true for modern diesel engines,where the primary path to achieving improved engine performance and emissions is to increase the Peak Firing Pressure in the combustion chamber. The resulting increase in thermal and mechanical loading has required a change from conventional grey cast iron to Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) in order to satisfy durability requirements without increasing the size or the weight of the engines. With at least 75% higher tensile strength,45% higher stiffness and approximately double the fatigue strength of conventional grey cast iron,CGI satisfies durability requirements and also provides the dimensional stability required to meet emissions legislation throughout the life of the engine. Currently,there are no CGI diesel engines running on the roads in North America. This is set to change considerably as new commercial vehicle and pick-up SUV diesel engines are launched with CGI cylinder blocks in 2008 and 2009. These initial programs will provide over 2 million CGI diesel engines when ramped to mature volume,potentially accounting for 10%-15% of the North American passenger vehicle fleet within the next four years.

High-speed polarization management is highly desirable for many applications,such as remote sensing,telecommunication,and medical ***,most of the approaches for polarization management rely on bulky optical components that are slow to respond,cumbersome to use,and sometimes with high drive ***,we overcome these limitations by harnessing photonic integrated circuits based on thin-film lithium niobate *** successfully realize a portfolio of thin-film lithium niobate devices for essential polarization management functionalities,including arbitrary polarization generation,fast polarization measurement,polarization scrambling,and automatic polarization *** present devices feature ultra-fast control speeds,low drive voltages,low optical losses and compact *** these devices,we achieve high fidelity polarization generation with a polarization extinction ratio up to 41.9 dB and fast polarization scrambling with a scrambling rate up to 65 Mrad s−1,both of which are best results in integrated *** also demonstrate the endless polarization state tracking operation in our *** demonstrated devices unlock a drastically new level of performance and scales in polarization management devices,leading to a paradigm shift in polarization management.

Safety and feasibility of same day discharge after per oral endoscopic pyloromyotomy in refractory gastroparesis: a pilot study

Background:Gastroparesis is a debilitating medical condition with limited treatment *** per-oral pyloromyotomy(G-POEM)has emerged as a promising treatment option with remarkable short-term clinical success shown in multiple *** the post-procedure protocol is not standardized across many centers,the majority of the centers observes these patients in the hospital after the procedure for *** this single-center prospective study,we evaluated the safety and feasibility of same day discharge after the G-POEM ***:All the patients with refractory gastroparesis undergoing G-POEM from October 2019 to March 2020 were enrolled.A total of 25 patients were enrolled in the *** on the pre-defined criteria,patients were either discharged on the same day after the procedure or admitted to the hospital for further *** patient and procedure-related data were extracted from the chart *** analysis was performed(chi-squared test)on categorical variables after organizing categorical variables as numeric counts or *** student t test was performed on continuous variables after reporting as mean and standard *** analysis with a smaller sample size,Fisher exact and Mann–Whitney tests were ***:A total of 25 patients were *** technical success of G-POEM was 100%and clinical success was 80%(20/25)at 1-month *** the 25 patients,9 patients(36%)were discharged on the same day according to the procedure from the recovery *** the remaining 16 patients who were admitted to the hospital post-procedure,10(40%)were admitted due to procedure-related causes while other admissions were either pre-planned or due to social *** average Charlson comorbidity index was lower in the same day discharge group(P<0.05).The number of patients requiring double myotomy was higher in the same day discharge group(P<0.05).The overall complication rate of G-POEM in the study cohort w
