Studying nucleon-nucleon （NN） correlated pairs will teach us a great deal about the high momentum part of the nuclear wave function,the short range part of the NN interaction,and the nature of cold dense nuclear *** correlations are similar in all nuclei,differing only in *** momentum nucleons,p 〉p fermi,all have a correlated partner with approximately equal and opposite *** pair relative momenta of 300 〈prel 〈500 MeV/c,these correlated pairs are dominated by tensor *** is shown by the dominance of pn over pp pairs at pair total momentum and by the parity of pn to pp pairs at large pair total momentum.

Despite decades of research, at present there is no curative therapy for Alzheimer＇s disease. Changes in the way new drugs are tested appear to be necessary. Three changes are presented here and will be discussed. The first change is that Alzheimer＇s disease must be considered a disease of four major pathological processes, not one. The four processes are： 1） vascular hy- poperfusion of the brain with associated mitochondrial dysfunction, 2） destructive protein inclusions, 3） uncontrolled oxidative stress, and 4） proinflammatory immune processes second- ary to microglial and astrocytic dysfunction in the brain. The second change recommended is to alter the standard cognitive measurement tools used to quantify mental decline in test patients. Specifically the Dementia Severity Rating Scale （DSRS） should supersede Mini-Mental State Examination （MMSE） and other popular tests, and a measurement scale developed in research should be used to produce a linear and non-irregular baseline. Finally, accepting the concept that four etiologies cause Alzheimer＇s disease leads to the last necessary change, that new thera- pies must be employed directed against all four causes, likely as a combination. There are drugs ready to be employed in such a combinations which are available and used clinically for other purposes so can be used ＂offlabel＂ and one such combination is suggested.

In the last years, sugar beet pectins have been the subject of several investigations involving extraction methodologies, chemical composition and functional properties. The structure of pectins, which depends on the extraction method, is decisive in their capacity to induce apoptosis on several cancer cell lines like colon, prostate and breast. In this work, sugar beet pectin extraction was performed in the following steps： lipid extraction with hexane, removal of soluble complex carbohydrates and proteins, and enzymatic treatment with amyloglucosidase, protease, and pectinase. The enzymatic treatment was carried out with Rohapect DA6L under the following conditions： 50℃, pH 4.0, 2% enzyme/substrate （E/S） ratio, 15 h, and a solid to liquid ratio of 1 ： 10. The pectic extract showed a degree of polymerization （DP） profile of 55.8% with DP≥7; 4.9% with DP6; 5.8% between DP2 and DP6 ; 4.7% with DP2; and 28.8% with DP1. The pectic extract was examined for its antiproliferative activity on the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. At a concentration range of 12.5-25 mg/mL the pectic extract killed 80.6% of the cells, exhibiting a higher antiproliferative activity than 4-hydroxytamoxifen （4- OHT）, a classical anticancer drug, which killed 56.5% of the cells.

BACKGROUND： Spring water therapies have been used since at least 1550 BC. Despite the growing body of evidence supporting these therapies for a range of conditions, including musculoskeletal, dermatological, respiratory and cardiovascular conditions, they do not currently form part of mainstream healthcare in many countries. The protocol established in this paper aims to support systematic reviews that examine the health outcomes associated with human exposure to regional spring waters, using the Australia and New Zealand context as a case study. METHODS/DESIGN： The protocol searches for studies in eight health/medical databases, searches three local health/medical journals, and includes forwards and backwards searching. Standard systematic review methods are used including： specifying pre-deterrnined inclusion criteria and data management plans, appraising the studies for bias, and allocation to a hierarchy of evidence. DISCUSSION： The protocol supports a review and comprehensive synthesis of the current evidence regarding the health effects of natural spring water, and can be adapted for reviews in other regions. From this evidence, recommendations regarding practice and future research can be made on the therapeutic role of spring water.

The mechanisms of fatigue in the group of people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis are protean. The liver is central in the pathogenesis of fatigue because it uniquely regulates much of the storage, release and production of substrate for energy generation. It is exquisitely sensitive to the feedback controlling the uptake and release of these energy generation substrates. Metabolic contributors to fatigue, beginning with the uptake of substrate from the gut, the passage through the portal system to hepatic storage and release of energy to target organs (muscle and brain) are central to understanding fatigue in patients with chronic liver disease. Inflammation either causing or resulting from chronic liver disease contributes to fatigue, although inflammation has not been demonstrated to be causal. It is this unique combination of factors, the nexus of metabolic abnormality and the inflammatory burden of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis that creates pathways to different types of fatigue. Many use the terms central and peripheral fatigue. Central fatigue is characterized by a lack of self-motivation and can manifest both in physical and mental activities. Peripheral fatigue is classically manifested by neuromuscular dysfunction and muscle weakness. Therefore, the distinction is often seen as a difference between intention (central fatigue) versus ability (peripheral fatigue). New approaches to measuring fatigue include the use of objective measures as well as patient reported outcomes. These measures have improved the precision with which we are able to describe fatigue. The measures of fatigue severity and its impact on usual daily routines in this population have also been improved, and they are more generally accepted as reliable and sensitive. The motivation for continuous columnar pinning centers has been to provide maximum Upin. It has been assumed that this provides the best Jc and Bpin. Limitations on Jc and Spin observed for columnar pinning have been attributed to degradation of the order parameter and Tc. We examine columnar pinning by ionic damage and conclude instead that geometrical effects of columnar pinning on percolation path and on the number of pinning centers are the dominant limitations of columnar pinning, leading to a limit of Bpin- 4 T. Evidence suggests that multiple-in-line-defects (MILD) are far better suited to increase Jc and Bpin. The morphology of MILD pinning is reviewed. Ion energy loss per unit distance, Se, is found to be most promising in a regime almost diametrically opposite to that sought to maximize Upin. We expect Jc - 106 A/cm2 and Bpin > 40T from MILD pinning, despite sharply decreased Upin. Experimental confirmation is proposed.

Sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 1 （S1PR1）, a G protein-coupled recep （GPCR）. controls vasct stability by stabilizing vascular endothelial （VE）-cadherin junctional localization and inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2（VEGFR2） signaling. However, the molecular mechanisms that link S1PR1 signaling to intracellular effectors remain *** this study,we demonstrate that the heterotrimeric G protein subfamily member Gαs, encoded by GNAS,acts as a relay mediator of S1PR1 signaling to control vascular integrity by stabilizing VE-cadherin at endothelial junctions. The endothelial cell -spectific deletion of Gαs in mice causes early embryonic lethality with massive hemorrhage and a disorganized *** immunostaining results revealed that Gαs deletion remarkably reduces the junctional localization of VE-cadherin, whereas the mull cell coverage of the vessels is not *** addition, we found-that Gαs depletion blocks the S1PR1-activation induced VE-cadherin stabilization at junctons,supporting that Gαs acts downstream of S1PR1 signaling ThuS, our results demonstrate that Gαs is an essential mediator to relay S1PR1 signaling and maintain vascular integrity.
