Several risk factors,which include heredity,ultra-violet (UV) light and chronic inflammation,contribute to pterygium ***,there is no report integrating these factors in the pathogenesis of *** aim of this review is to describe the connection between heredity,UV,and inflammation in pterygium *** reports indicate that sunlight exposure is the main factor in pterygium occurrence by inducing growth factor production or chronic inflammation or DNA *** may be a *** studies on factors in pterygium occurrence and recurrence identify that heredity is crucial for pterygium to develop,and that sunlight is only a trigger,and that chronic inflammation promotes pterygium *** propose that genetic factors may interfere with the control of fibrovascular proliferation while UV light or(sunlight)most likely only triggers pterygium development by inducing growth factors which promote vibrant fibrovascular proliferation in predisposed *** also just triggers inflammation and collagenolysis,which may be promoters of the enlargement of the fibrovascular *** probably occurs in the presence of exuberant collagen production and profuse neovascularisation.

M.8641是从武汉东湖分离培养的一株有毒的铜绿微囊藻(Microcystis aeruginosa),它产生两种环状短肽肝毒素。经凝胶过滤及HPLC等过程纯化,waters Pico Tag系统测定,其主毒素(毒素Ⅰ)的氨基酸组成为:Glu(1),β-Masp(1),Ala(Ⅰ),Arg(2),Mdha(1),FAB-MS和MS/MS测定分子量为m/z1038,元素组成为C_(49)H_(76)O_(12)N_(13)。毒素Ⅱ的氨基酸组成,除一分子Arg为Leu取代外,其余与毒素Ⅰ相同,分子量m/z 994,分子式C_(49)HT_(75)O_(12)N_(10)。毒素Ⅰ和Ⅱ的毒性分别为129和42μg/kg(i.p.),二者在细胞中的含量各为0.12及0.01mg/kg。FLC测定表明M.8641的两种毒素与MCYST-RR和-LR有相同的Rf值。从氨基酸组成、分子量、分子式及毒性等资料分析,亦证明毒素工相当于MCYST-RR,毒素Ⅱ相当于MCYST-LR。

Improving simulations of sulfate aerosols during winter haze over Northern China： the impacts of heterogeneous oxidation by NO2

we implemented the online coupled wRF-Chem model to reproduce the 2013 January haze event in North China, and evaluated simulated meteorological and chemical fields using multiple observations. The comparisons suggest that temperature and relative humidity （RH） were simulated well （mean biases are 0.2K and 2.7%, respectively）, but wind speeds were overestimated （mean bias is 0.5 m.s -1）. At the Beijing station, sulfur dioxide （SO2） concentrations were overpredicted and sulfhte concentrations were largely underpredicted, which may result from uncertainties in SO2 emissions and missing heterogeneous oxidation in current model. we conducted three parallel experiments to examine the impacts of doubling SO2 emissions and incorporating heterogeneous oxidation of dissolved SO2 by nitrogen dioxide （NO2） on sulfate formation during winter haze. The results suggest that doubling SO2 emissions do not significantly affect sulthte concentrations, but adding heterogeneous oxidation of dissolved SO2 by NO, substantially improve simulations of sulfate and other inorganic aerosols. Although the enhanced SO2 to sulfate conversion in the HetS （heterogeneous oxidation by NO2） case reduces SO2 concentrations, it is still largely overestimated by the model, indicating the overestimations of SO2 concentrations in the North China Plain （NCP） are mostly due to errors in SO2 emission inventory.

Synovial Hemangioma in a 2 Year Old Mimicking Synovial Osteochondromatosis

we describe a rare synovial mass arising from the elbow of a 2 year old female. It was growing slowly for three months and there was no history of trauma or fever. Plain radiographs showed a soft tissue mass around the elbow with scattered nodular intraarticular calcifications. Ultrasound and MRI confirmed the synovial location of the mass and again showed the multiple calcifications, some of which suggested intraarticular loose bodies. The imaging findings were thought to represent synovial osteochondromatosis but subsequent biopsy revealed a synovial hemangioma and it is for this reason that we present our case.

Objective: To explore the usability and feasibility of a downloadable application (APP) compared to paper handouts (CONTROL) in guiding 30 days of PT-prescribed home exercise after total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and to compare functional outcomes at 30 days postoperatively between APP and CONTROL. Design: Randomized controlled usability and feasibility study. Setting: Rehabilitation laboratories at two regional medical centers. Participants: Individuals with knee osteoarthritis undergoing unilateral TKA (APP group: N = 26;mean age, 67.0 ± 8.2 y;CONTROL group: N = 31;mean age, 64.7 ± 7.7 y). Interventions: This study assessed the user experience of a downloadable app to guide 30 days of home exercises and instruction after TKA and compared exploratory outcomes to a group using paper handouts. Main Outcome Measures: The System Usability Scale (SUS) score was used to assess patient usability experience. Raw SUS scores were dichotomized (≥72% or was similarly evaluated in the APP group only through a priori criteria applied to computing device ownership and study use, to the absence of technology-based barriers to participation, and to completion of app-based testing. Exploratory measures compared change from baseline to 30 days for functional and patient-reported outcomes between APP and CONTROL. Results: The APP group’s mean SUS score of 79.2% at 30 days exceeded the 75% threshold for good usability. The app met the predetermined a priori feasibility criteria for absence of technology-based barriers to participation (75% of participants) and completion of app-based testing (91.3% of participants). Personal computing devices were used by 71.4% of APP participants, which was below the 75% a priori feasibility criterion.
