Anemia is one of the public health issues that affect children and pregnant women *** occurs when the level of red blood cells within the body is *** anemia requires expert blood draw for clinical analysis of hemoglobin *** this standard method is accurate,it is costive and consumes enough time,unlike the non-invasive approach which is cost-effective and takes less *** study focused on pallor analysis and used images of the conjunctiva of the eyes to detect anemia using machine learning *** study used a publicly available dataset of 710 images of the conjunctiva of the eyes acquired with a unique tool that eliminates any interference from ambient *** combined Convolutional Neural Networks,Logistic Regression,and Gaussian Blur algorithm to develop a conjunctiva detection model and an anemia detection model which runs on a Fast API server connected to a frontend mobile app built with React *** developed model was embedded into a smartphone application that can detect anemia by capturing and processing a patient's conjunctiva with a sensitivity of 90%,a specificity of 95%,and an accuracy of 92.50%on average performance in about 50 s.

商业趋势的不断变化、新技术的大量涌现、商业应用的发展以及对智力资本的竞争,改变了员工职业生涯管理的动力。这就要求组织实施组织职业管理模式,旨在为员工提供职业发展空间并参与其中,而不是忽略主管在这方面的作用。因此,本研究旨在探讨加纳私营保险公司员工的组织职业生涯管理与职业满意度之间的关系:工作投入和主管支持的作用。本文采用定量研究设计和随机抽样法,编制了一份调查问卷,对加纳阿克拉大都会议会(Donewell Insurance ***、Starlife Assurance)的五家私人保险公司的全职员工进行了调查(Donewell Insurance ***、Starlife Assurance ***、Metropolitan Life Insurance ***、Vanguard Assurance ***和Absa Group Ltd)。取得研究样本量460,使用SPSS 26.0对数据进行处理和分析,并采用描述性统计、相关性分析、多元回归、中介多元回归和调节多元回归对研究假设进行检验。设置95%的置信区间,回归模型的R2为67.5%表明该研究模型有效。本研究主要得到以下五个结论:第一,组织职业生涯管理与职业满意度呈正相关(r=0.822)第二,组织职业生涯管理与工作投入呈正相关(r=0.780),对工作投入有正向显著影响(B=0.782,p<0.05)第三,工作投入调节了组织职业生涯管理与职业满意度之间的关系,z值=16.945,标准差=0.037,p<0.05。第四,通过具有交互项的回归模型确定了主管支持对组织职业生涯管理与职业满意度关系的调节作用(B=0.077,t=2.181,p<0.05)。最后,利用交互项建立了组织职业生涯管理与工作投入关系的调节效应(B=0.098,t=4.989,p<0.05)。研究结果为社会交换理论(SET)、资源节约理论(COR)和工作需求资源理论(JD-R)提供了理论依据,研究结果表明组织职业生涯管理和主管支持可以作为组织资源提高员工的职业满意度,增加工作投入。本研究建议,私营保险公司应更加重视组织的职业生涯管理和管理层的支持,以提高员工的职业满意度和工作投入。

Plant Senescence: The Role of Volatile Terpene Compounds (VTCs)

Senescence is a natural, energy-dependent, physiological, developmental and an ecological process that is controlled by the plant’s own genetic program, allowing maximum recovery of nutrients from older organs for the survival of the plant, as such;it is classified as essential component of the growth and development of plants. In some cases, under one or many environmental stresses, senescence is triggered in plants. Despite many studies in the area, less consideration has been given to plant secondary metabolites, especially the role of VTCs on plant senescence. This review seeks to capture the biosynthesis and signal transduction of VTCs, the physiology of VTCs in plant development and how that is linked to some phytohormones to induce senescence. Much progress has been made in the elucidation of metabolic pathways leading to the biosynthesis of VTCs. In addition to the classical cytosolic mevalonic acid (MVA) pathway from acetyl-CoA, the 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) pathway, originating from glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (GAP) and pyruvate, leads to the biosynthesis of isoprenoid precursors, isopentenyl diphosphate and dimethyl allyl diphosphate. VTCs synthesis and emission are believed to be tightly regulated by photosynthetic carbon supply into MEP pathway. Thus, under abiotic stresses such as drought, high salinity, high and low temperature, and low CO2 that directly affect stomatal conductance and ultimately biochemical limitation to photosynthesis, there has been observed induction of VTC synthesis and emissions, reflecting the elicitation of MEP pathway. This reveals the possibility of important function(s) of VTCs in plant defense against stress by mobilizing resources from components of plants and therefore, senescence. Our current understanding of the relationship between environmental responses and senescence mostly comes from the study of senescence response to phytohormones such as abscisic acid, jasmonic acid, ethylene and salicylic acid,

Mechanical Shaking and Baling of Balsam Fir Trees Influence Postharvest Needle Senescence and Abscission

This study investigated the influence of both shaking duration and number of trees per bale on postharvest needle characteristics such as percentage needle loss, needle retention duration and explored the physiological roles of endogenous ethylene and volatile terpene compounds (VTCs). To accomplish these objectives, 25 six-year-old trees were detached and exposed to a range of shaking durations (0 to 60 sec.), and 30 six-year-old detached trees were exposed to baling treatments from 0 to 5 trees. Response variables measured were percent needle loss, needle retention duration, average water use, ethylene and volatile terpene compound evolution. Trees shaken for 60 seconds lost 16% less needle compared to control, which was consistent with the decrease in percent needle loss with increasing shaking duration. Baled trees lost 13% more needles compared to control, but percent needle loss was observed to decrease with increasing number of trees in a bale. These trends corresponded with increasing ethylene and VTC evolutions, where the longer the shaking duration or larger number of trees in a bale, the higher the ethylene and VTC evolutions. One can therefore draw inference that mechanical perturbation as a result of shaking and baling induce biosynthesis and regulation of ethylene and VTC in balsam fir trees in an effort to regulate postharvest needle abscission.
