Spatial memory is crucial for survival within external surroundings and wild *** hippocampus,a critical hub for spatial learning and memory formation,has received extensive investigations on how neuromodulators shape its functions(Teixeira et al.,2018;Zhang et al.,2024).However,the landscape of neuromodulations in the hippocampal system remains poorly understood because most studies focus on classical monoamine neuromodulators,such as acetylcholine,serotonin,dopamine,and *** neuropeptides,comprising the most abundant neuromodulators in the central nervous system,play a pivotal role in neural information processing in the hippocampal ***(CCK),one of the most abundant neuropeptides,has been implicated in regulating various physiological and neurobiological statuses(Chen et al.,2019).CCK-A receptor(CCK-AR)and CCK-B receptors(CCK-BR)are two key receptors mediating the biological functions of CCK,both of which belong to class-A sevenfold transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors(Nishimura et al.,2015).CCK-AR preferentially reacts to sulfated CCK,whereas CCK-BR binds both CCK and gastrin with similar affinities(Ding et al.,2022).The expression patterns of CCK-AR and CCK-BR are distinct,implying that CCK has various functions in target *** instance,CCK-AR is widely expressed in the GI and brain subregions and is hence implicated in the control of digestive function and satiety ***,CCK-BR is abundantly and widely distributed in the central nervous system,which majorly regulates anxiety,learning,and memory(Ding et al.,2022).However,the roles of endogenous CCK and CCK receptors in regulating hippocampal function at electrophysiological and behavioral levels have received less attention.

The Mc Kean-Vlasov filtering problem is a special kind of filtering problem, with the state and/or observation processes governed by Mc Kean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations, which has extensive applications in various scenarios. In this paper, the authors will propose a novel numerical algorithm to solve the Mc Kean-Vlasov filtering problem based on the Hermite spectral method under the framework of Yau-Yau algorithm. As the first approach to numerically solving the Duncan-MortensenZakai equation associated with the Mc Kean-Vlasov filtering problem, the proposed algorithm can provide accurate estimations of the conditional expectation and conditional probability density of the state process with a reasonable online computational complexity. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is verified both theoretically and numerically in this paper.

Ever since Brockett and Clark(1980), Brockett(1981) and Mitter(1980) introduced the estimation algebra method, it becomes a powerful tool to classify finite-dimensional filtering *** this paper, the authors investigate estimation algebra on state dimension n and linear rank n-1,especially the case of n = 4. Mitter conjecture is always a key question on classification of estimation algebra. A weak form of Mitter conjecture states that observation functions in finite dimensional filters are affine functions. In this paper, the authors shall focus on the weak form of Mitter conjecture. In the first part, it will be shown that partially constant structure of Ω is a sufficient condition for weak form Mitter conjecture to be true. In the second part, the authors shall prove partially constant structure of Ω for n = 4 which implies the weak form Mitter conjecture for this case.

Physical exercise is recognized as an effective intervention to improve mood,physical performance,and general *** achieves these benefits through cellular and molecular mechanisms that promote the release of neuroprotective ***,reduced levels of physical exercise have been implicated in several central nervous system diseases,including ocular *** evidence has suggested that physical exercise levels are significantly lower in individuals with ocular diseases such as glaucoma,age-related macular degeneration,retinitis pigmentosa,and diabetic *** exercise may have a neuroprotective effect on the ***,the association between reduced physical exercise and ocular diseases may involve a bidirectional causal relationship whereby visual impairment leads to reduced physical exercise and decreased exercise exacerbates the development of ocular *** this review,we summarize the evidence linking physical exercise to eye disease and identify potential mediators of physical exercise-induced retinal ***,we discuss future directions for preclinical and clinical research in exercise and eye health.

Advance care planning readiness among older adults in aged service centers:A cross-sectional study

Objective:This study aimed to explore the readiness for advance care planning(ACP)among older adults in Macao’s day service centers and investigate the influencing ***:A cross-sectional study was conducted from October to December 2022 using a convenience sampling method.A total of 312 older adults were selected from 13 day service centers for older adults in Macao,*** Advance Care Planning Acceptance Questionnaire and the Family Adaptation,Partnership,Growth,Affection,Resolve(APGAR)Scale were used to survey the older ***:A total of 306 older adults completed the *** score for advance care planning readiness was 65.55±10.69,and 59.5%of participants(n=182)were willing to participate in *** family function score was 7.24±2.51,while 70.3%of participants were from a highly functional *** higher family function indicating a higher readiness for advance care planning(r=0.396,P<0.001).The multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the variables“age,”“knowledge of ACP,”“experience with ACP,”and“received resuscitation of yourself,relatives or friends”combined with“family function”can influence advance care planning readiness among older adults(R^(2)=0.317,F=27.898,P<0.001).Conclusions:Older adults in Macao’s day service centers were willing to engage in *** importance of family involvement is highlighted in the ACP *** education and improved family communication are vital for promoting ACP,which ensures individuals receive care when they lack the capacity to make that ***,healthcare professionals should enhance communication and education with older adults during the medical care process.

Adolescence and the journey to adulthood involves exciting opportunities as well as psychosocial stress for young people growing *** normal experiences are potentially magnified for teenagers living with chronic illness or disability and their *** in care have improved survival for children with a variety of serious chronic medical conditions such that many who may once have died in childhood now survive well into adulthood with ongoing *** those with highly complex needs,care is often provided at major paediatric hospitals with expertise,specially trained personnel,and resources to support young people and their families for the first decades of *** the end of adolescence,however,it is generally appropriate and necessary for young adults and their caregivers to transition to the care of clinicians trained in the care of adults at general *** there are some well-managed models to support this journey of transition,these are often specific to certain conditions and usually do not involve intensive *** patients may encounter considerable challenges during this *** may include the loss of established therapeutic relationships,a perception of austerity and reduced amenity in facilities oriented to caring for adult patients,and care by clinicians with less experience with more common paediatric *** addition,there is a risk of potential conflict between clinicians and families regarding goals of care in the event of a critical illness when it occurs in a young adult with major disability and long-term health *** challenges present genuine opportunities to better understand the transition from paediatric to adult-based care and to improve processes that assist clinicians who support patients and families as they shift between healthcare settings.
