This work reports on the effect of commercial expandable graphite(EG)on the flammability and thermal decomposition properties of PLA-starch *** PLA-starch/EG composites were prepared by melt-mixing and their thermal stability,volatile pyrolysis products and flammability characteristics were *** char residues of the composites,after combustion in a cone calorimeter,were analyzed with environmental scanning electron microscopy(ESEM).The thermal decomposition stability of the composites improved in the presence of ***,the char content was less than expected as per the combination of the wt%EG added into PLA-starch and the%residue of *** flammability performance of the PLA-starch/EG composites improved,especially at 15 wt%EG content,due to a thick and strong worm-like char *** peak heat release rate(PHRR)improved by 74%,the total smoke production(TSP)by 40%and the specific extinction area(SEA)by 55%.The improvements are attributed to the ability of EG to exfoliate at increased temperatures during which time three effects occurred:(i)cooling due to an endothermic exfoliation process,(ii)dilution due to release of H2O,SO2 and CO2 gases,and (iii)formation of a protective intumescent char ***,the CO and CO2 yields were found to be unfavorably high due to the presence of EG.

The development of multilayer network techniques is a boon for researchers who wish to understand how different interaction layers might influence each other,and how these in turn might influence group ***,we investigate how integration between male and female grooming and aggression interaction networks influences male power trajectories in vervet monkeys Chlorocebus *** previous analyses of this phenomenon used a monolayer approach,and our aim here is to extend these analyses using a dynamic multilayer *** do so,we constructed a temporal series of male and female interaction *** then used a multivariate multilevel autoregression model to compare cross-lagged associations between a male's centrality in the female grooming layer and changes in male Elo *** results confirmed our original findings:changes in male centrality within the female grooming network were weakly but positively tied to changes in their Elo ***,the multilayer network approach offered additional insights into this social process,identifying how changes in a male's centrality cascade through the other network *** dynamic view indicates that the changes in Elo ratings are likely to be short-lived,but that male centrality within the female network had a much stronger impact throughout the multilayer network as a whole,especially on reducing intermale aggression(i.e.,aggression directed by males toward other males).We suggest that multilayer social network approaches can take advantage of increased amounts of social data that are more commonly collected these days,using a variety of *** data are inherently multilevel and multilayered,and thus offer the ability to quantify more precisely the dynamics of animal social behaviors.

A photonic lab on a chip(PhLOC),comprising a solid-state light emitter(SSLE)aligned with a biofunctionalized optofluidic multiple internal reflection(MIR)system,is *** SSLE is obtained by filling a microfluidic structure with a phenyltrimethoxysilane(PhTMOS)aqueous sol solution containing a fluorophore organic *** curing,the resulting xerogel solid structure retains the emitting properties of the fluorophore,which is evenly distributed in the xerogel *** studies demonstrate that after a total dose(at λ5365 nm)greater than 24 J cm^(-2),the xerogel emission decay is only 4.1%.To re-direct the emitted light,the SSLE includes two sets of air mirrors that surround the *** mapping of the SSLE demonstrates that alignment variations of 150 mm(between the SSLE and the external pumping light source)provide fluctuations in emitted light smaller than 5%.After this verification,the SSLE is monolithically implemented with a MIR,forming the *** performance is assessed by measuring quinolone yellow,obtaining a limit of detection(LOD)of(0.6060.01)***,the MIR is selectively biofunctionalized with horseradish peroxidase(HRP)for the detection of hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))target analyte,obtaining a LOD of(0.760.1)μM for H_(2)O_(2),confirming,for the first time,that solid-state xerogel-based emitters can be massively implemented in biofunctionalized PhLOCs.

In this study, two commercially available superoxide scavengers, tetrakis （1-methyl-4-pyridyl） porphyrin （Mn[III]TMPyP） and superoxide dismutase （SOD）, as well as red palm oil （RPO）, a natural vegetable oil, had been used to investigate their possible in vitro effects against the toxic effects of superoxide （O2＋） on human sperm motility. Semen samples were obtained from 12 normozoospermic healthy volunteer donors aged between 19 and 23 years. The O2＋donor 2,3-dimetoxyl-l,4-naphthoquinone （DMNQ）（2.5 μmol· L^-1-100 μmol· L^-1） was added to normozoospermic post-swim-up sperm in the presence or absence of Mn（III）TMPyP （50 μmol· L^-1）, SOD （50 IU） or RPO （0.1% or 0.5%）. Computer-assisted semen analysis was used to analyze various motility parameters. The parameters of interest were percentage of motile cells, progressive motility, rapid cells and static cells. Concentrations of higher than 25 μmol· L^-1 DMNQ were detrimental to sperm motility. Mn（III）TMPyP was able to attenuate the effect of O2＋ on the motility parameters. In vitro addition of SOD and RPO showed harmful effects on sperm motility.

Highly penetration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) on the grid systems nowadays makes the systems grow dynamically. The system become more complex and the protection system become more complicated. The protection relay should accommodate the system changes according to the system conditions and topologies. As part of developmental aspect of Distributed Artificial Intelligent, Multi Agent System (MAS) is a challenging method for improving the intelligent properties of relay protection. This paper introduces the use of MAS approach on radial distribution system protection dominated with DER using dispersed adaptive rule-based protection supported by distributed database agent. The simulation results confirmed that the proposed algorithm can respond within 15.05 ms.

AIM:To investigate the correlation between the Helicobacter pylori(***)infection and host genetic background of healthy populations in ***:In March 2007,epidemiological studies were undertaken on the general population of a city in Indonesia(Mataram,Lombok).The participants included 107 men and 187 women,whose ages ranged from6 to 74 years old,with an average age of 34.0(±14.4)(±SD).The *** of subject by UbT method determination,and through the polymerase chain reaction with confronting two-pair primers(PCR-CTPP)method parsing the single nucleotide polymorphism of interleukin(IL)-8,IL-4,IL-1β,CD14,tumor necrosis factor(TNF-a)and tyrosine-protein phosphates non-receptor type 11(PTPN11)*** experimental data were analyzed by the statistical software ***:The *** infection rates in the healthy Indonesian population studied were 8.4%for men and12.8%for women;no obvious differences were noted for *** infection rates by sex or *** genotypes of IL-4,TC and CC genotypes of TNF-a,and GA genotypes of PTPN11,were higher in *** CC and TC genotype of TNF-a T-1031C loci featured higher expressions in the healthy Indonesian population Indonesia studied of(OR=1.99;95%CI:0.67-5.89)and(OR=1.66;95%CI:0.73-3.76),respectively.C allele of IL-1βT-31C gene locus was at a higher risk(OR=1.11;95%CI:0.70-1.73)of *** infection,but no statistical significance was found in our ***:We reveal that the association between the TNF-a and IL-1βgenotypes may be the susceptibility of *** in the studied population.

Development on dolomite poses a risk to people and their assets living on it. Although development in the Tlokwe City Council (TCC) broadly took cognisance of the presence of dolomite, some parts of the township had been developed on dolomite. Therefore, since the Council is accountable for safe development within its jurisdiction, a Dolomite Risk Management Programme (DRMPr) should be put in place according to prevailing legislation, standards and guidelines. For long-term mitigation measures to be implemented successfully, the DRMPr should be integrated and aligned within the existing structure and processes of the Council. This exercise is described, with some challenges identified and recommendations made, for consideration in the same or similar programmes in future.

Prokaryotes are ubiquitous in the biosphere, important for human health and drive diverse biological and environmental processes. Systematics of prokaryotes, whose origins can be traced to the discovery of microorganisms in the 17th century, has transitioned from a phenotype-based classification to a more comprehensive polyphasic taxonomy and eventually to the current genome-based taxonomic *** transition aligns with a foundational shift from studies focused on phenotypic traits that have limited comparative value to those using genome sequences. In this context, bergey's Manual of Systematics of Archaea and bacteria(bMSAb) and bergey's International Society for Microbial Systematics(bISMiS) play a pivotal role in guiding prokaryotic systematics. This review focuses on the historical development of prokaryotic systematics with a focus on the roles of bMSAb and bISMiS. We also explore significant contributions and achievements by microbiologists, highlight the latest progress in the field and anticipate challenges and opportunities within prokaryotic systematics. Additionally, we outline five focal points of bISMiS that are aimed at addressing these challenges. In conclusion, our collaborative effort seeks to enhance ongoing advancements in prokaryotic systematics, ensuring its continued relevance and innovative characters in the contemporary landscape of genomics and bioinformatics.
