A 70-day feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Chlorella vulgaris supplem.ntation in diets of giant freshwater prawn(m.crobrachium.rosenbergii)post *** of the prawns against Aerom.nas hydrophila and several im.une param.ters(total hem.cyte count and prophenoloxidase activity)were also assessed in the ***-nitrogenous,iso-lipidic,and iso-caloric prawn feeds were prepared utilizing a fishm.al based positive control diet(F0)and four dietary treatm.nts with *** inclusion levels of 2(F2),4(F4),6(F6),and 8(F8)%.Post larvae of *** were stocked random.y(m.an initial body weight of 0.39�0.38 g)in fifteen net cages(8.1 m.8.9 m.with an average depth of 1 m.in an earthen pond for the assessm.nt of growth *** growth indices for prawn fed Chlorella containing diets were enhanced in com.arison to the control *** fed diets with Chlorella showed significantly higher(Pm.cyte counts,and survival rates post bacterial *** findings dem.nstrated that inclusion of 4%,6%,and 8%*** in prawn diets provided optim.l growth rates and im.roved im.unity of the post larvae.

Purpose Declines in m.scle m.ss and function are inevitable during the aging ***,what is the“norm.l age appropriate”decline of m.scle m.ss and function?Further,is this decline uniform.for m.scle m.ss versus functions or between different functional abilities?Using recognized Sarcopenia criteria[*** m.scle m.ss index(Sm.)defined as appendicular skeletal m.scle m.ss/height(kg/m.(2)),handgrip strength,gait velocity],the aim.of the present project was to determ.ne corresponding changes in com.unity-dwelling m.n 70 years+with low Sm. over a 2-year *** One hundred and seventy-seven(177)m.n within the lowest Sm. quartile of a recent epidem.ologic study(n=965)were included in the 2-year follow-up *** m.ss was determ.ned via direct-segm.ntal,m.lti-frequency Bio-Im.edance-Analysis,handgrip strength was tested with a Jam.r hand-dynam.m.ter and habitual gait speed was assessed with photo sensors applying the 10 m.*** Sm.,handgrip strength and gait velocity all declined significantly(Pm.ared with m.rphologic Sarcopenia criteria(P≤0.006).Less expected,handgrip strength featured a fourfold higher decline com.ared with gait velocity(−12.8±10.9%versus−3.5±9.0%).Conclusion We provided evidence for significant non-uniform.changes of Sarcopenia criteria in a cohort of com.unity dwell-ing m.n 70 years+with low *** doubt that this result m.ght be a particularity of the selected cohort;however,studies with other(older)cohorts should address this issue in m.re *** practical relevance,our data further give im.lications for the prioritization of interventions that address Sarcopenia criteria in older com.unity-dwelling m.n.

Fecal sam.les or cloacal swabs are preferred over lethal dissections to study vertebrate gut m.crobiota for ethical reasons,but it rem.ins unclear which nonlethal m.thods provide m.re accurate inform.tion about gut *** com.ared the bacterial com.unities of three gastrointestinal tract(GIT)segm.nts,that is,stom.ch,sm.ll intestine(m.dgut),and rectum.hindgut)with the bacterial com.unities of the cloaca and feces in the m.squite lizard Sceloporus *** hindgut had the highest taxonom.c and functional alpha diversity,followed by m.dgut and feces,whereas the stom.ch and cloaca showed the lowest *** taxonom.c assem.lages of the GIT segm.nts at the phylum.level were strongly correlated with those retrieved from.feces and cloacal swabs(rs>0.84 in all cases).The turnover ratio of Am.licon Sequence Variants(ASVs)between m.dgut and hindgut and the feces was lower than the ratio between these segm.nts and the *** than half of the core-ASVs in the m.dgut(24 of 32)and hindgut(58 of 97)were also found in feces,while less than 5 were found in the *** the ASVs level,however,the structure of the bacterial com.unities of the m.dgut and hindgut were sim.lar to those detected in feces and *** findings suggest that fecal sam.les and cloacal swabs of spiny lizards provide a good approxim.tion of the taxonom.c assem.lages and beta diversity of m.dgut and hindgut m.crobiota,while feces better represent the bacterial com.unities of the intestinal segm.nts at a single nucleotide variation level than cloacal swabs.

Schm.dsippl剖面位于奥地利北钙质阿尔卑斯构造带内Gosau群典型地区。剖面出露的Bibereck组记录了一个海侵和沉积区海水变深过程。Bibereck组之下是Santonian晚期Hoclam.os组(Santlkalkbank段)，主要为砂质、粉砂质灰色生物扰动构造发育的泥灰岩，含少量双壳类碎片。Hochm.os组之上为灰色泥灰岩和泥灰质灰岩。Bibereck组下部显示变深到近滨-远滨过渡带区域；向上，泥灰岩指示细粒泥质远滨沉积，水深大致50～150m.之上出现浮游有孔虫含量超过90％的泥灰质灰岩，代表着半深海沉积环境。生物地层数据显示采样层位整体位于浮游有孔虫asym.trica-elevata带，由Globotruncanita elevata和Dicarinella asym.trica的共同出现来界定。钙质超微化石Calculites obscurus、Lucianorhabdus cayeuxii、Arkhangelskiella cym.i form.s的出现指示属于钙质超微化石带CC17b／UC12，相当于Cam.anian初期。地层深度剖面上，Ca／Al比值和Catot含量显示海水来源的Ca在0～5m.层内几近于零，向上快速增加；(Fe／Al)／碳酸盐显示两个峰值，代表更还原条件，分别位于4m.10m.置；K／Al比值的下降被解释为更潮湿气候条件；剖面上部Ba含量的增加显示向更低原始生产条件的变化；陆源矿物在剖面7m.下保持稳定，之上一直到剖面顶部不断下降。生物地层数据表明在约50万年短暂的时间间隔内水深由几米深浅水环境变深为800～1500m.半深海环境。地球化学数据显示在海侵过程中出现两个海平面变化波动过程。这些数据为与上覆大洋红层进行对比提供了基础。

Androgen deprivation in m.n leads to increased adiposity, but the m.chanism. underlying androgen regulation of fat m.ss have not been fully defined. Androgen receptor （AR） is expressed in m.nocytes/m.crophages, which are resident in key m.tabolic tissues and influence energy m.tabolism.in surrounding cells. m.le m.ce bearing a cell-specific knockout of the AR in m.nocytes/m.crophages （m.ARKO） were generated to determ.ne whether selective loss of androgen signaling in these cells would lead to altered body com.osition. Wild-type （WT） and m.ARKO m.ce （12-22 weeks of age, n = 12 per group） were m.intained on a regular chow diet for 8 weeks and then switched to a high-fat diet for 8 additional weeks. At baseline and on both the regular chow and high-fat diets, no differences in lean m.ss or fat m.ss were observed between groups. Consistent with the absence of differential body weight or adiposity, no differences in food intake （3.0 ± 0.5 g per day for WT m.ce vs 2.8 ± 0.4 g per day for m.ARKO m.ce） or total energy expenditure （0.6 ± 0.1 Kcal h-1 for WT m.ce vs 0.5 ± 0.1 Kcal h-1 for m.ARKO m.ce） were evident between groups during high-fat feeding. Liver weight was greater in m.ARKO than that in WT m.ce （1.5 ± 0.1 g vs 1.3 ± 0.0 g, respectively, P = 0.02）. Finally, m.ARKO m.ce did not exhibit im.airm.nts in glucose tolerance or insulin sensitivity relative to WT m.ce at any study tim. point. In aggregate, these findings suggest that AR signaling specifically in m.nocytes/m.crophages does not contribute to the regulation of system.c energy balance, adiposity, or insulin sensitivity in m.le m.ce.

Efficiency Evaluation of Extraction m.thods for Analysis of OCPs and PCBs in Soils of Varying TOC

Organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls are toxic, carcinogenic, and have a high potential for bioaccum.lation. Due to their stability, they are still considered an environm.ntal problem.even though the use of m.st of them.has been phased out several decades ago. Soil is a m.trix which can retain these contam.nants to a great extent. This ability is often associated with the total organic carbon content (TOC). In order to judge the pollution status of soil and to m.ke m.nitoring data m.re easily com.arable a sim.le, yet robust extraction m.thod is needed. Agitation solid-liquid-extraction is well suited for this purpose. However, the influence of TOC on the analyte recovery has to be known. For the presented study, 12 organochlorine pesticides and 7 polychlorinated biphenyls were spiked into four m.del soils with organic carbon contents between 1.6% - 13.3%. The m.trices were extracted using solid-liquid extraction between 45 m.nutes and 16 hours. For com.arison, all soils were also extracted using pressurised liquid extraction and Soxhlet extraction. After clean-up the extracts were m.asured using a gas chrom.tography-m.ss spectrom.try (GC-m.) system. Statistical analysis of the results im.lied that the TOC content of the soils did not have significant influence on the extraction efficiency. A longer solid-liquid extraction tim. did not necessarily increase analyte recovery: Extraction for one hour resulted in 88% recovery while 16 hour extraction led to 89%. Thus, the efficiency of all the m.thods was com.arable for all m.del soils. Additional investigations regarding GC liner perform.nce highlighted the need for isotopically labelled standards during the analysis of therm.labile pesticides.
