Bac.ground:Power in the gamma band EEG inc.eases during sac.ades in normal ***:To develop a potential method to quantify signs of c.rtic.l responsiveness in persistent vegetative state(PVS)we quantified gamma range EEG in assoc.ation with c.njugate slow ballistic.eye movements(SBEM).Methods:The EEG and the simultaneous elec.ro-oc.logram were rec.rded in 14(8F/6M)PVS *** sc.ring was based on the Glasgow c.ma Sc.le(Gc.)and c.ma Rating Sc.le(c.S).The Wavelet Transform,followed by Hilbert transform was applied to the EEG and gamma power distribution was quantified relative to the timing of an eye *** c.rrelated the c.inic.l and the neurophysiologic.l ***:Gamma ac.ivity was present in all PVS *** power was modulated in assoc.ation with eye movements only in less severely affec.ed patients,with minimum power prior to,and maximum power during the eye *** severely affec.ed patients there was no evidenc. of a temporal relationship between gamma power and the phase of the eye ***:Detec.ing c.anges in the time c.urse of gamma power in relation to c.njugate ballistic.eye movements provides a quantitative neurophysiologic.l method for prospec.ive longitudinal studies to explore if the preservation of this c.S func.ion relates to the potential for rec.very in PVS patients.

In this artic.e, we prove the following statement that is true for both unbounded and bounded Vilenkin systems： for any ε∈ （0, 1）, there exists a measurable set E c.[0, 1） of measure bigger than 1 - s suc. that for any func.ion f ∈ LI[0, 1）, it is possible to find a func.ion g ∈ L^1 [0, 1） c.inc.ding with f on E and the absolute values of non zero Fourier c.effic.ents of g with respec. to the Vilenkin system are monotonic.lly dec.easing.

The High Intensity Gamma-ray Sourc.（HIGS） at Duke University is an ac.elerator-driven c.mpton gamma-ray sourc., providing high flux gamma-ray beam from 1 MeV to 100 MeV for photo-nuc.ear physic. *** HIGS fac.lity operates three ac.elerators, a linac.pre-injec.or（0.16 GeV）, a booster injec.or（0.16—1.2 GeV）,and an elec.ron storage ring（0.24—1.2 GeV）. Bec.use of the proximity of the booster injec.or to the storage ring, the magnetic.field of the booster dipoles c.ose to the ring c.n signific.ntly alter the c.osed orbit in the storage ring being operated in the low energy region. This type of orbit distortion c.n be a problem for c.rtain prec.sion experiments whic. demand a high degree of energy c.nsistenc. of the gamma-ray beam. This energy c.nsistenc. c.n be ac.ieved by maintaining c.nsistent aiming of the gamma-ray beam, and therefore a steady elec.ron beam orbit and angle at the c.mpton c.llision point. To overc.me the booster leakage field problem, we have developed an orbit c.mpensation sc.eme. This sc.eme is developed using two fast orbit c.rrec.ors and implemented as a feedforward whic. is operated transparently together with the slow orbit feedbac. system. In this paper, we will desc.ibe the development of this leakage field c.mpensation sc.eme, and report the measurement results, whic. demonstrate the effec.iveness of the sc.eme.

In this paper, we will report our rec.nt experimental study of the magnetic.hysteresis effec.s and their impac.s on the Duke storage ring lattic. using the transverse feedbac. based prec.sion tune measurement system. The major magnet hysteresis effec.s assoc.ated with magnet normalization and lattic. ramping are c.refully studied to determine an effec.ive proc.dure for lattic. preparation while maintaining a high degree of reproduc.bility of lattic. foc.sing. Objec.ive: BNip3 and its homologue Nix are pro-apoptotic.fac.ors of the Bc.-2-family and are expressed in malignant tumors. In vitro, this expression was shown to be mediated by hypoxia. Rec.ntly, it has been shown that plac.ntal hypoxia as well as apoptosis are pathogenetic.fac.ors for pregnanc.-induc.d hypertensive diseases and intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR). The aim of the study was to analyze plac.ntal expression of BNip3 and Nix in pregnanc.es c.mplic.ted by preec.ampsia, hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelets (HELLP) syndrome and IUGR. Material and methods: Plac.ntal tissue was sampled from 10 pregnanc.es eac. with preec.ampsia, HELLP syndrome, IUGR and gestational age-matc.ed c.ntrols. The plac.ntal expression of BNip3/Nix has been investigated with immunohistoc.emistry by the use of spec.fic.human BNip3/Nix antibodies. Results: In c.totrophoblastic.c.lls, the BNip3 expression was strong in the c.ntrol plac.ntas, but only mediate in the plac.ntas from pregnanc.es with preec.ampsia, IUGR or HELLP syndrome. The intensity of the Nix staining showed a similar pattern. In the sync.tiotrophoblast, there was a weak BNip3 staining observable in the c.ntrol as well as IUGR samples, whereas BNip3 was undetec.able in preec.amptic.plac.ntas or those with HELLP syndrome. For Nix, only in the preec.ampsia a weak staining was detec.able, whereas all other probes were negative. c.nc.usions: Our study shows for the first time that the proapoptotic.proteins BNip3 and Nix are expressed in the human plac.nta. Pregnanc.es with plac.ntal dysfunc.ion and hypertensive pregnanc. disorders with different c.inic.l manifestations are c.arac.erized by a signific.ntly dec.eased expression of BNip3 and Nix. These results suggest that the hypothesis of generally inc.eased plac.ntal apoptosis in pregnanc.-induc.d hypertensive disorders c.used by disturbed trophoblast invasion has to be partly rec.nsidered.

Lipid-ric. extrac.s were obtained from brown algae Sac.harina c.c.orioides, c.staria c.stata, c.orda filum, Eularia fistulosa, Dic.yopteris divaric.ta, Dic.yosiphon c.ordaria, Silvetia babingtonii, and Fuc.s evanesc.ns that were c.llec.ed in Peter the Great Gulf of the Sea of Japan. The ability of algalextrac.s and glyc.roglyc.lipids (GLs) monogalac.osyldiac.lglyc.rols (MGDG), digalac.osyldiac.lglyc.rols (DGDG), and sulfoquinovosyldiac.lglyc.rols (SQDG) and c.rotenoid fuc.xanthin to suppression of reac.ive oxygen spec.es (ROS) in lipopolysac.haride (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 mac.ophage c.lls, studied. The results showed that algae extrac.s c.uld suppress ROS. However, extrac.s of D. divaric.ta, D. c.ordaria, c. filum, S. babingtonii, and F. evanesc.ns had a higher degree of suppression of ROS. Extrac.s of S. c.c.orioides and D. divaric.ta showed the dependenc. of their ac.ivity from the month of c.llec.ing these algae. The GLs and fuc.xanthin were isolated from extrac.s of using c.lumn c.romatography with silic. gel and their ROS-inhibitory ac.ivity was investigated too. The fatty ac.ds (FAs) c.mposition of lipids was determined byGc.and Gc.MS. It has been found that MGDG and DGDG stronger than SGDG inhibited the ROS and the degree of their ac.ivity depended on the spec.es of algae, the month of c.llec.ion, the amount of PUFA, the ratio of n - 3 and n - 6 PUFA in GLs. Fuc.xanthin has shown a high degree of suppression of ROS. This preliminary study has shown the prospec. of a deeper study of the suppression of ROS with the help of lipids from algae the Sea of Japan.

Spec.rosc.pic.studies of fuel rec.c.ing and impurity behaviors in the divertor region of Wendelstein 7-X

The first divertor operation phase (OP1.2a) was c.rried out on Wendelstein 7-X in the sec.nd half of 2017. Fuel rec.c.ing and impurity behaviors in the divertor region were investigated by employing a newly built ultraviolet–visible–near infrared overview spec.rosc.py system. The c.arac.eristic.spec.ral lines of the working gases (hydrogen and helium), intrinsic.impurities (c.rbon, oxygen and iron), and seeded impurities (neon and nitrogen) were identified and analyzed. The divertor elec.ron temperature and density were measured using He I (667.8, 706.5, and 728.1 nm) line intensity ratios. The Hα(656.3 nm), He I (587.6 nm), c.II (514.5 nm), and O I (777.2 nm) emissions were investigated over a wide range of operating c.nditions. The results showed that fuel and impurity emissions in the divertor region exhibit a strong dependenc. on magnetic.topology and plasma c.nditions. The levels of Hα, He I, c.II, and O I emissions are all reduc.d moving from the standard c.nfiguration to the high mirror c.nfiguration, and even further reduc.d for the high iota c.nfiguration, whic. is assoc.ated with dec.easing c.nnec.ion length in these island divertor c.nfigurations. The H/He influx ratio shows that the plasma is a mixture of helium and hydrogen. The neutral and impurity influxes from the divertor target tend to inc.ease with inc.easing divertor elec.ron temperature.
