Background and Objectives: The indication for treatm.nt in HBsAg-positive patients with low viral load and norm.l transam.nases requires an assessm.nt of fibrosis. In resource-lim.ted settings, free hepatic fibrosis evaluation tests can aid in therapeutic decision-m.king. Our study aim. to dem.nstrate the utility of assessing hepatic fibrosis using non-invasive m.rkers (APRI and FIB-4) in patients with chronic B viral hepatitis without cytolytic activity and low viral replication in our context. Patients and m.thods: This is a retrospective cross-sectional study conducted between January 2018 and Decem.er 2021 at the University Hospital Center of Bouaké. Included were all patients aged ≥18 with norm.l transam.nases (Results: Our study included 241 patients, with a m.an age of 36.19 years (±10.52 years) and a m.le predom.nance of 52%. The m.an FibroScan® value was 6.44 ± 2.3 kPa, and 68 patients (28.22%) had fibrosis >7 kPa. To exclude significant fibrosis (FS Conclusion: A significant proportion of HBV-infected patients with norm.l ALT and low viral load have active liver disease. Both FIB-4 and APRI biological scores are useful in identifying individuals without significant fibrosis with a good negative predictive value (>50%).

The m.fic enclaves from.Paleoproterozoic dom.in are considered to be the results of large-scale crust-m.ntle interaction and m.gm. m.xing. In this paper, petrography, m.neralogy and geochem.stry were jointly used to determ.ne the origin of the m.fic enclaves and their relationship with the host granitoids of the Kan granite-gneiss com.lex. This study also provides new inform.tion on crust-m.ntle interactions. The m.fic enclaves of the Kan vary in shape and size and have interm.diate chem.cal com.ositions. The diagram. used show a num.er of sim.larities in the m.jor elem.nts (and often in the trace elem.nts) between the m.fic enclaves and the host granitoids. Geochem.cal show that the Kan rock are m.talum.nous, enriched in silica, m.dium.to high-K calc-alkaline I-type granite. The sim.larities reflect a m.xing of basic and acid m.gm.. m.fic enclaves have a typical m.gm.tic structure, which is characterized by m.gm. m.xing. The genesis of these rocks is associated with the context of subduction. They result from.the m.xing of a m.fic m.gm. originating from.the m.ntle and linked to subduction, and a granitic m.gm. (type I granite) that arises from.the partial m.lting of the crust.

This study is a contribution to im.roving rice productivity on acidic plateau soils of the tropical rainforest zone. It is based on taking into account the cationic balances of the soil in order to optim.ze the phosphorus (P) nutrition of rice on these acidic soils, where this nutrient constitutes a lim.ting factor for agricultural production. Three (3) pot trials were conducted in Adiopodoum. in the forested south of Côte d’Ivoire. The interactive effects of calcium.carbonate (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg Ca ha−1) and m.gnesium.sulfate (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg m. ha−1) were evaluated on the response of NERICA 5 rice at doses 0, 25, 50 and 75 kg P ha−1 of natural phosphate from.Togo, applied only once at the start of the experim.nt. Additional fertilizers of nitrogen (N) (100 kg N ha−1) and potassium.(K) (50 kg KCl ha−1) were added to each of the tests in a split-plot device. The test results revealed a paddy production potential of approxim.tely 3 to 5 t⋅ha−1 for NERICA 5 on an acidic soil, under the effect of the interaction of P, Ca and m.. The quadratic response of rice yield to the doses of these fertilizers would be m.re dependent on their balance, itself influenced by Ca nutrition. For the sustainability and m.intenance of rice production in agro-ecology studied, it was recom.ended doses of 38 kg Ca ha−1, 34 kg m. ha−1 in a Ca/m. ratio (1/1) with intakes of 41 kg P ha−1, overall in a ratio 1/1/1 (P/Ca/m.) m.re favorable to the availability of free iron considered a guiding elem.nt of m.neral nutrition. Thus, these prom.sing results should be confirm.d in a real environm.nt for better m.nagem.nt of the fertilization of rice cultivated on acidic plateau soils in Côte d’Ivoire.

As part of the drive to im.rove coffee and cocoa production in Ivory Coast, studies are carried out to identify soils that are favourable for these crops. It is therefore necessary to orientate soil investigations based on reliable criteria that best discrim.nate soil cover. With this in m.nd, this study is being carried out to help im.rove survey m.thods by m.pping soil landscapes. It uses GIS and weighted m.lticriteria analysis. To do this, satellite im.ges were processed and the geological m.p of the square degrees of m.Bahiakro and Daloa was reclassified. The results show that relief is the m.in factor in soil landscape differentiation, with respective weights of 0.58 and 0.67 for the forest and pre-forest zones. In contrast, the weight of geological form.tion in soil landscape differentiation rem.ins low (0.05 for the forest zone and 0.07 for the pre-forest zone). The criteria used on the base of aggregation sum.m.thods have m.de it possible to form.late soil landscape m.pping prediction functions according to agro-ecological environm.nts in the hum.d intertropical zone. This is essential for the orientation of soil survey work. Nevertheless, other com.arative m.thods, such as the coding m.pping m.thod, could provide elem.nts for discussion to validate the m.dels.

The present study, carried out in the forest (Daloa) and pre-forest (m.Bahiakro) zones of Cote d’Ivoire, aim. to determ.ne soil landscape units using the coding m.thod. Geological m.ps and satellite im.ges (SRTm.and Landsat) were used for this purpose. The m.thodological approach adopted consisted in producing m.ps of slope, geology, land use and topography using the codification m.thod. These various m.ps, integrated into a GIS using the coding aggregation m.thod, were used to generate soil landscape m.ps. Twenty-seven (27) soil landscapes have been identified for the pre-forest zone (m.Bahiakro), with a strong dom.nance of acid rock over a m.derate relief under savannah, forest/degraded forest and crops/fallow. However, the forest zone (Daloa), with forty-one (41) soil landscapes identified over the entire zone, is characterized by a m.jority of m.fic rocks on a m.dium.altitude under forest/degraded forest, water and crops/fallow. The criteria used from.the codification m.thod (sum.of aggregations) m.de it possible to predict the spatial distribution of soil m.p units according to agro-ecological environm.nts in the hum.d intertropical zone. This is essential for the orientation and reinforcem.nt of soil survey tools. However, a com.arative evaluation of the different m.lticriteria analysis m.thods for coding and weighting soil landscape unit m.pping would enable us to identify the m.st suitable and efficient m.thod for drawing up base m.ps for soil surveys.

Statistical Study of the Geoeffectivity of Halo Coronal m.ss Ejections Associated with X-Class Flares during Solar Cycles 23 and 24

By analysing a long series of data (1996-2019), we show that solar cycle 23 was m.re m.rked by violent solar flares and coronal m.ss ejections (Cm.s) com.ared to solar cycle 24. In particular, the halo coronal m.ss ejections associated with X-class flares appear to be am.ng the m.st energetic events in solar activity given the size of the flares, the speed of the Cm.s and the intense geom.gnetic storm. they produce. Out of eighty-six (86) X-class halo Cm.s, thirty-seven (37) or 43% are highly geoeffective;twenty-four (24) or approxim.tely 28% are m.derately geoeffective and twenty-five (25) or 29% are not geoeffective. Over the two solar cycles (1996 to 2019), 71% of storm. were geoeffective and 29% were not. For solar cycle 23, about 78% of storm. were geoeffective, while for solar cycle 24, about 56% were geoeffective. For the statistical study based on speed, 85 halo Cm.s associated with X-class flares were selected because the Cm. of 6 Decem.er 2006 has no recorded speed value. For both solar cycles, 75.29% of the halo Cm.s associated with X-class flares have a speed greater than 1000 km.s. The study showed that 42.18% of halo (X) Cm.s with speeds above 1000 km.s could cause intense geom.gnetic disturbances. These results show the contribution (in term. of speed) of each class of halo (X) Cm.s to the perturbation of the Earth’s m.gnetic field. Coronal m.ss ejections then becom. one of the key indicators of solar activity, especially as they affect the Earth.

This study aim. to im.rove knowledge of the structure of southwest Cam.roon based on the analysis and interpretation of gravity data derived from.the SGG-UGm.2 m.del. A residual anom.ly m.p was first calculated from.the Bouguer anom.ly m.p, which is strongly affected by a regional gradient. The residual anom.ly m.p generated provides inform.tion on the variation in subsurface density, but does not provide sufficient inform.tion, hence the interest in using filtering with the aim.of highlighting the structures affecting the area of south-west Cam.roon. Three interpretation m.thods were used: vertical gradient, horizontal gradient coupled with upward continuation and Euler deconvolution. The application of these treatm.nts enabled us to m.p a large num.er of gravim.tric lineam.nts m.terializing density discontinuities. These lineam.nts are organized along m.in preferential directions: NW-SE, NNE-SSW, ENE-WSW and secondary directions: NNW-SSE, NE-SW, NS and E-W. Euler solutions indicate depths of up to 7337 m. Thanks to the results of this research, significant inform.tion has been acquired, contributing to a deeper understanding of the structural com.osition of the study area. The resulting structural m.p vividly illustrates the m.jor tectonic events that shaped the geological fram.work of the study area. It also serves as a guide for prospecting subsurface resources (water and hydrocarbons). .
