BACKGROUND Central retinal artery occlusion(CRAO)is a potentially blinding disease,and hyperbaric oxygen therapy(HBOT)is becoming increasingly popular with the support of scientific *** the presence of various acute management measures,there is no clear evidence on the gold standard treatment for *** To identify factors and imaging parameters associated with good visual outcome,which guide ophthalmologists in the triage of CRAO patients for *** Patients who suffered from CRAO and had a symptom onset≤6 h were recruited for a course of HBOT in a tertiary hospital after failing bedside *** demographics,onset time,CRAO eye parameters,and past medical history were prospectively *** outcomes after HBOT were also *** A total of 26 patients were included;the female-to-male ratio was 1:1.6,and the mean age was 67.5 years±13.3 years(range 44–89 years).The mean duration of follow-up and mean visual acuity(VA)improvement were 10.0 mo±5.3 mo and 0.48 logarithm of minimal angle of resolution(logMAR)±0.57 logMAR(approx-imately 9 letters in ETDRS)(P=0.0001,Z=-3.67),*** 1 mm zone of central macular thickness(CMT)on optical coherence tomography was not associated with VA changes(P=0.119);however,the 1-to-3 mm circular rim of CMT was fairly associated(P=0.02,Spearman's coefficient=0.45).Complete retinal perfusion time during fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA)was mode-rately associated(P=0.01,Spearman's coefficient=0.58)with visual outcome.

Solar energy is a natural resource which can be harnessed to provide clean electricity for hydrogen production ***, this technology is not widely used because of control issues, particularly for hydrogen refuelling stations. At present,direct or DC-DC converter couplings are the most common system configurations for hydrogen refuelling stations. However, these system configurations are costly and suffer from gas shortage at hydrogen refuelling stations. Furthermore, the hydrogen produced by such system configurations varies considerably depending on the levels of solar radiation. In order to address these issues, a new system configuration is proposed, incorporating the feedback signal of the storage level in the control system. The photovoltaic(PV) system, electrolyzer, and storage tank are integrated with a fuzzy logic controller(FLC) to determine the backup current compensation for electrolyzer operation in order to obtain the minimum power required for hydrogen production. The proposed FLC is constructed with three input variables which are the PV current, hydrogen storage level, and the battery state of charge. The rules-based fuzzy inference process is based on the proposed configuration which combines the advantages of direct and DC-DC converter coupling configurations. The simulation results show that the proposed configuration offers better adaptability to variable radiation conditions compared to other methods. This gives a more promising option for ensuring the adequacy of hydrogen supply at hydrogen refuelling stations.

“The Belt and Road Initiative [BRI] can contribute greatly to a peaceful, orderly shift in the global order and support China’s constructive international role commensurate with its size and potential,” uttered by Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during a five-day visit to Beijing for the second Belt and Road Forum—an international summit led and hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Noting that Singapore had been an “early and strong supporter” of the BRI, Lee asserted that Singapore was well placed to make a “modest contribution” to the BRI. He cited the example of the chongqing Connectivity Initiative (CCI)—a joint Sino-Singapore project launched in 2015—as an area where Singapore could make a useful contribution to the BRI through improving land and sea trade and transport connectivity.

Malaria remains a major public health challenge *** is one of the world’s deadliest diseases,responsible for 627000 deaths worldwide in 2020 alone[1].In Malaysia,the Malaria Eradication Programme in Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysia Borneo in 1969 and 1967,respectively,drastically reduced the number of malaria cases in the country[2].Subsequently,the programme was further reinforced and improved,resulting in zero indigenous human malaria species in 2018[1].Currently,Malaysia has been identified as one of the World Health Organization(WHO)Western Pacific Region countries with zero indigenous cases for three consecutive years[1],thus eligible for the WHO certification of a malaria-free status country.

BACKGROUND People with bipolar disorder(BD)frequently struggle with the recurrence of affective ***,the interplay between coping mechanism and positive mood state remains *** To explore the associations among behavioral approach system(BAS)sensitivity level,coping,and positive mood states among people with *** Using a cross-sectional study design,90 participants with BD were presented with four BAS-activating life event scenarios and assessed with regard to their BAS trait sensitivity,coping flexibility,and mood states.A hierarchical clustering method was used to identify different groups with different styles of *** hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to examine the mediating and moderating roles of different components of coping on mood *** A three-cluster solution was found to best fit the present data *** findings showed that a low mass of coping combined with low BAS sensitivity level protects people with BD from detrimentally accentuating mood states when they encounter BAS-activating life ***,coping flexibility is demonstrated to mediate and moderate the relationships between BAS sensitivity level and mood ***,subduing the perceived controllability and reducing the use of behavioral-activation/emotion-amplifying coping strategies could help buffer the effect of positive *** The judicious use of coping in emotion regulation for people with BD when encountering BAS-activating life events was *** applications and theoretical implications are highlighted.
