In the context of electromobility,ensuring the leak tightness of assemblies is of paramount importance,particularly in bat-tery housings.Current battery housings,often featuring base assemblies crafted from extruded aluminum profiles,address the challenge of leak tightness at joints through methods like friction stir welding,a process known for its time and cost intensiveness.The aim of this study is to develop and implement a new type of extruded profile concept to produce tight base assemblies for battery housings by a longitudinal mechanical single stroke joining process.The geometry,the process and the properties of the aluminum profiles are investigated to get a joint that meets the tightness requirements and achieve high load-bearing capacities in agreement with the high homologation requirements set to vehicles with high-voltage systems.The joint is formed by means of a single stage press stroke,which eliminates the need for complex tool designs that are neces-sary for continuous joining(roll joining).Flat steel contact surfaces are used as joining tools.To evaluate the joint quality,force curves from the joining process are analyzed and the resulting joint geometries are assessed using micrographs.The resulting leak tightness of the linear joints is measured by a helium sniffer leak detector and the load-bearing capacities are investigated by shear lap and bending tests and fatigue strength test.The study also explores whether a difference in strength between the two joining partners has a positive effect on the joint properties.

BACKGROUND The rising number of people using methamphetamine leads to an increasing need for treatment options for this patient group.Evidence-based research on the efficacy of treatment programs for methamphetamine users is limited.Due to specific characteristics of methamphetamine users,the question arises whether established treatment methods for individuals using other substances can be effective for the treatment of methamphetamine dependence as well.We hypothesize that there are significant differences between the two groups that may affect the effectiveness of treatment and worsen the prognosis of treatment outcomes for methamphetamine users compared to consumers of other substances.AIM To investigate potential differences in cognitive functioning and psychopathology between methamphetamine users and other substance users and possible correlations with treatment outcomes.METHODS A total of 110 subjects were recruited for an observational,longitudinal study from a German inpatient addiction treatment center:55 patients with methamphetamine dependence and 55 patients with dependence of other substances(“OS group”).Both groups were examined at beginning(baseline)and end of treatment(after 6 mo)with regard to treatment retention,craving,cognitive functioning,psychosocial resources,personality traits,depression,and other psychiatric symptoms.Instruments used were Raven’s IQ test,Mannheimer craving scale,cognitrone cognitive test battery,NEO personality factors inventory,Hamilton depression scale,Becks depression inventory,and a symptom checklist.The statistical methods used were χ^(2)-test,t-test and multiple mixed ANOVAs.RESULTS A total drop-out rate of 40%(methamphetamine-group:36.4%;OS-group:43.6%)was observed without significant differences between groups.At baseline,methamphetamine-group subjects significantly differed from OS-group individuals in terms of a lower intelligence quotient,fewer years of education,slower working speed,and decreased working accuracy,as well as less cannabinoid and cocaine use.M

目前,中国经济的发展面临着一系列挑战,需要妥善处理经济结构转型的问题,其中向绿色转型发展的需求日益迫切,因此建立合适的转型机制,为中国经济的绿色转型与可持续发展注入动力是当前中国经济的重要任务。本文梳理了中国近年来绿色转型方面的进展,从绿色贷款、绿色债券和绿色股权投资等方面分析了中国为建立多层次绿色金融体系而做出的努力,指出绿色转型需要更多社会资本参与,并根据《G20转型金融框架》中的“五个支柱”进一步明确提出了中国经济绿色转型分类、实施碳税以激励转型、提高气候信息披露要求、通过VC/PE/PPP等融资方式拓宽民间投资渠道、增加针对性货币和财政工具等建议,以期为中国的绿色转型发展提供参考。

PEP7 acts as a peptide ligand for the receptor kinase SIRK1 to regulate aquaporin-mediated water influx and lateral root growth

Plant receptors constitute a large protein family that regulates various aspects of development and responses to external cues.Functional characterization of this protein family and the identification of their ligands remain major challenges in plant biology.Previously,we identified plasma membrane-intrinsic sucrose-induced receptor kinase 1(SIRK1)and Qian Shou kinase 1(QSK1)as receptor/co-receptor pair involved in the regulation of aquaporins in response to osmotic conditions induced by sucrose.In this study,we identified a member of the elicitor peptide(PEP)family,namely PEP7,as the specific ligand of th receptor kinase SIRK1.PEP7 binds to the extracellular domain of SIRK1 with a binding constant of 1.44±0.79μM and is secreted to the apoplasm specifically in response to sucrose treatment.Stabilization of a signaling complex involving SIRK1,QSK1,and aquaporins as substrates is mediated by alterations in the external sucrose concentration or by PEP7 application.Moreover,the presence of PEP7 induces the phosphorylation of aquaporins in vivo and enhances water influx into protoplasts.Disturbed water influx,in turn,led to delayed lateral root development in the pep7 mutant.The loss-of-function mutant of SIRK1 is not responsive to external PEP7 treatment regarding kinase activity,aquaporin phosphorylation,water influx activity,and lateral root development.Taken together,our data indicate that the PEP7/SIRK1/QSK1 complex represents a crucial perception and response module that mediates sucrose-controlled water flux in plants and lateral root development.

The genetic landscape of cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)remains largely unexplored.It is one of the deadliest cancers(1),with the gold standard treatment for all anatomical forms(intrahepatic-iCCA,perihilar-pCCA and distal-dCCA)being surgical resection(with adjuvant capecitabine also recommended in the newest guidelines)(2,3).The importance of genetic markers in terms of postoperative and oncological outcomes is being increasingly recognized,but few actionable mutations have been identified so far(2,4).This is particularly pertinent for patients with advanced/irresectable disease,who rely on systemic therapy.Survival outcomes are poor in these patients[5-year survival up to 10%-(5)]and they would profit the most from novel,targeted therapies.

Multiple mating by both sexes in an invasive insect species,Aethina tumida(Coleoptera:Nitidulidae)

Multiple mating by both sexes is common among sexually reproducing animals.Small hive beetles(SHB),Aethina tumida,are parasites of bee nests endemic to sub-Saharan Africa and have become a widespread invasive species.Despite the considerable economic damages they can cause,their basic biology remains poorly understood.Here we show that male and female small hive beetles can mate multiple times,suggesting that costs for mating are low in this species.In an invasive A.tumida population in the United States,a combination of laboratory experiments for males and paternity analysis with eight polymorphic DNA microsatellite markers for field-caught females were used to estimate the number of mating by both sexes.The data show that females and males can mate multiple times—females mated with up to eight males,whereas males mated with at least seven females.The results also showed that A.tumida displayed a skewed paternity,although this was not consistent among the tested females.Thus,first or last male advantage seem to be unlikely in A.tumida.Our observations that individuals of both sexes of A.tumida can mate multiple times opens new research avenues for examining drivers of multiple mating and determining the role it may play in promoting biological invasions.

Graphene quantum dots(GQDs)have attracted increasing attention due to their favorable optical properties and have been widely used,e.g.,in the biomedical field.However,the properties related to the chemical structure of GQDs,resulting in solventdependent optical properties,still remain unclear.Herein,we present the synthesis of long-wavelength emitting GQDs with a size of about 3.6 nm via a solvothermal method using oxo-functionalized graphene(oxo-G)and p-phenylenediamine as precursors and their structural and surface chemical analysis by transmission electron and atomic force microscopy(TEM;AFM)as well as Fourier-transform infrared,Raman,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(FTIR;Raman;XPS).Subsequently,the influence of solvent polarity and proticity on the optical properties of the as-prepared GQDs bearing–OH,–NH_(2),–COOH and pyridine surface groups was investigated.Based on the results of the absorption and fluorescence(FL)studies,a possible luminescence mechanism is proposed.The observed solvent-induced changes in the spectral position of the FL maximum,FL quantum yield,and FL decay kinetics in protic and aprotic solvents of low and high polarity are ascribed to a combination of polarity effects,intramolecular charge transfer(ICT)processes,and hydrogen bonding.Moreover,the potential of GQDs for the optical sensing of trace amount of water was assessed.The results of our systematic spectroscopic study will promote the rational design of GQDs and shed more light on the FL mechanism of carbon-based fluorescent nanomaterials.

Evaluating the addition of radar with optical data for vegetation mapping in a montane region in Sri Lanka

The use of freely-available multi-source imagery for mapping vegetation in montane terrain is important for many developing countries that do not have the funding for high-resolution data capture.Radar images are also now freely available and include Sentinel-1 in dual polarisation,and PALSAR-2.These images can penetrate cloud cover and provide the advantage of acquiring data in a cloudy tropical region.This research evaluated whether the addition of radar with optical and topographic data improves classification accuracy in a montane region in Sri Lanka.Six classification experiments were designed based on different combinations of image data to test whether radar data improved land cover classification accuracy compared with optical data alone.Random forest classifier in the Google Earth Engine has been utilised to classify the tropical montane vegetation.The results indicate that radar or optical data alone cannot obtain satisfactory results.However,when combining radar with optical data the overall accuracy increased by approximately 5%,and by an additional 2%when topography data were added.The highest accuracy(92%)was achieved with multiple imagery,and adding the vegetation indices improved the model slightly by 0.3%.In addition,feature importance analysis showed that radar data makes a significant contribution to the classification.These positive outcomes demonstrate that freely-accessible multi-source remotely-sensed data have impressive capability for vegetation mapping,and support the monitoring and managing of forest ecological resources in tropical montane regions.
