Optical imaging systems have greatly extended human visual capabilities,enabling the observation and understanding of diverse *** technologies span a broad spectrum of wavelengths from x-ray to radio frequencies and impact research activities and our daily *** glass lenses are fabricated through a series of complex processes,while polymers offer versatility and ease of ***,modern applications often require complex lens assemblies,driving the need for miniaturization and advanced designs with micro-and nanoscale features to surpass the capabilities of traditional fabrication ***-dimensional(3D)printing,or additive manufacturing,presents a solution to these challenges with benefits of rapid prototyping,customized geometries,and efficient production,particularly suited for miniaturized optical imaging *** 3D printing methods have demonstrated advantages over traditional counterparts,yet challenges remain in achieving nanoscale ***-photon polymerization lithography(TPL),a nanoscale 3D printing technique,enables the fabrication of intricate structures beyond the optical diffraction limit via the nonlinear process of two-photon absorption within liquid *** offers unprecedented abilities,***-free fabrication,micro-and nanoscale capabilities,and rapid prototyping of almost arbitrary complex 3D *** this review,we emphasize the importance of the criteria for optical performance evaluation of imaging devices,discuss material properties relevant to TPL,fabrication techniques,and highlight the application of TPL in optical *** the first panoramic review on this topic,it will equip researchers with foundational knowledge and recent advancements of TPL for imaging optics,promoting a deeper understanding of the *** leveraging on its high-resolution capability,extensive material range,and true 3D processing,alongside advances in materials,fabrication,and design,we en

Strawberries are rich in polyphenols which impart health benefits when metabolized by the gut microbiome,including anti-inflammatory,neuroprotective,and antiproliferative *** addition,polyphenolic anthocyanins contribute to the attractive color of strawberry ***,the genetic basis of polyphenol biosynthesis has not been extensively studied in *** this investigation,ripe fruits from three cultivated strawberry populations were characterized for polyphenol content using HPLC-DAD-MSn and genotyped using the iStraw35k *** and QTL analyses identified genetic loci controlling polyphenol *** were identified on four chromosomes for pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside,pelargonidin-3-O-acetylglucoside,cinnamoyl glucose,and ellagic acid deoxyhexoside ***/absence of ellagic acid deoxyhexoside and pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside was found to be under the control of major gene loci on LG1X2 and LG6b,respectively,on the F.×ananassa linkage *** of gene predictions in the *** reference genome sequence identified a single candidate gene for ellagic acid deoxyhexoside biosynthesis,while seven malonyltransferase genes were identified as candidates for pelargonidin-3-O-malonylglucoside *** malonyltransferase genes were identified in the F.×ananassa‘Camarosa’genome sequence but the candidate for ellagic acid deoxyhexoside biosynthesis was absent from the‘Camarosa’*** study demonstrated that polyphenol biosynthesis in strawberry is,in some cases,under simple genetic control,supporting previous observations of the presence or absence of these compounds in strawberry *** has also shed light on the mechanisms controlling polyphenol biosynthesis and enhanced the knowledge of these biosynthesis pathways in *** above findings will facilitate breeding for strawberries enriched in compounds with beneficial health effects.

AIM:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of vitamin E in children with chronic hepatitis ***:We randomly assigned patients with chronic hepatitis B,positive for hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg),to receive either vitamin E or placebo once daily for 6 mo in a 3:1 ratio and double-blind *** primary end point was HBeAg seroconversion,defined as the loss of HBeAg,undetectable levels of serum hepatitis B virus DNA,and the appearance of antibodies against HBeAg 12 mo after ***:At baseline visit,49 patients had normal and 43 had increased serum aminotransferase ***-nine patients did not respond to previous treatment with interferon-α or ***-six children completed the study;16 were non-compliant(n = 7),lost to follow-up(n = 7),or started another antiviral treatment(n = 3).Intention-to-treat analysis showed HBeAg seroconversion in 16 children(23.2%) treated with vitamin E and two(8.7%) in the placebo group(P = 0.13).Vitamin E was well ***:There is only a tendency that vitamin E may promote HBeAg *** larger studies are needed to clarify the role of antioxidants in the therapy of chronic hepatitis B.

The generic structure of solutions of initial value problems of hyperbolic-elliptic systems,also called mixed systems,of conservation laws is not yet fully *** reason for the absence of a core well-posedness theory for these equations is the sensitivity of their solutions to the structure of a parabolic regularization when attempting to single out an admissible solution by the vanishing viscosity *** is,however,theoretical and numerical evidence for the appearance of solutions that exhibit persistent oscillations,so-called oscillatory waves,which are(in general,measure-valued)solutions that emerge from Riemann data or slightly perturbed constant data chosen from the interior of the elliptic *** capture these solutions,usually a fine computational grid is *** this work,a version of the multiresolution method applied to a WenO scheme for systems of conservation laws is proposed as a simulation tool for the efficient computation of solutions of oscillatory wave *** hyperbolic-elliptic 2×2 systems of conservation laws considered are a prototype system for three-phase flow in porous media and a system modeling the separation of a heavy-buoyant bidisperse *** the latter case,varying one scalar parameter produces elliptic regions of different shapes and numbers of points of tangency with the borders of the phase space,giving rise to different kinds of oscillation waves.

AIM:To analyzes the decision whether patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection are treated or ***:This prospective cohort study included 7658 untreated patients and 6341 patients receiving pegylated interferon α2 a/ribavirin,involving 434 physicians/institutions throughout Germany (377 in private practice and 57 in hospital settings).A structured questionnaire had to be answered prior to the treatment decision,which included demographic data,information about the personal life situation of the patients,anamnesis and symptomatology of hepatitis C,virological data,laboratory data and data on concomitant diseases.A second part of the study analyzes patients treated with pegylated interferon α*** questionnaires included reasons against treatment mentioned by the ***:Overall treatment uptake was 45%.By multivariate analysis,genotype 1/4/5/6,HCV-RNA ≤ 520 000 IU/mL,normal alanine aminotransferase (ALT),platelets ≤ 142 500/μL,age > 56 years,female gender,infection length > 12.5 years,concomitant diseases,human immunodeficiency virus co-infection,liver biopsy not performed,care in private practice,asymptomatic disease,and unemployment were factors associated with reduced treatment *** and sustained viral response rates in migrants (1/3 of cohort) were higher than in German natives although 1/3 of migrants had language *** rate and liver biopsy were higher in clinical settings when compared to private practice and were low when ALT and HCV-RNA were ***:Some reasons against treatment were medically based whereas others were related to fears,socio-economical problems,and information deficits both on the side of physicians and patients.

Traction-assisted endoscopic mucosal resection for polypectomy in the large intestine

AIM: To evaluate if traction-assisted endoscopic mucosal resection (TA-EMR) is feasible and if it enables en bloc resection of colorectal lesions. METHODS: Seven patients with a total of 12 colorectal adenomas were prospectively enrolled. All lesions were removed by TA-EMR: one hemostatic clip tied to a white silk suture was applied to the base of the lesion to allow traction through the working channel of the colonoscope. A conventional polypectomy snare was mounted over the suture and the lesion was pulled into the snare and resected in one piece. RESULTS: All 12 lesions (nine sessile) were resected en bloc with free lateral and vertical margins by using this novel technique, including five lesions (5/12, 41.6%) in less-accessible positions, where TA-EMR enabled complete visualization of the base before resection. Mean longest lesion and specimen sizes were 9 mm (range: 6-25 mm) and 11 mm in diameter (range: 7-17 mm),respectively. No serious procedure-related complications were observed. CONCLUSION: TA-EMR through the endoscope using a hemostatic clip and suture material is technically feasible. Visualization of colorectal lesions in less-accessible locations can be improved.

Influence of ZnO/graphene nanolaminate periodicity on their structural and mechanical properties

Structural, electronic and mechanical properties of ZnO/Graphene（ZnO/G） nanolaminates fabricated by low temperature atomic layer deposition（ALD） and chemical vapor deposition（CVD） were *** performed scanning and transmission electron microscopy（SEM/TEM）, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, electron energy loss spectroscopy（EELS）, Raman spectroscopy, X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） and nanoindentation to characterize the ZnO/G nanolaminates. The main structural and mechanical parameters of ZnO/G nanolaminates were calculated. The obtained results were analyzed and interpreted taking into account mechanical interaction and charge effects occurring at the G-ZnO interface. The influence of graphene sublayers number on the mechanical behavior of the ZnO/G nanolaminates was studied. By reducing the bilayer thickness, the mechanical parameters of the films can be tuned（Young＇s modulus100-200 GPa, hardness 3-9 GPa）. The softer response of the multilayers as compared to the single layers of ZnO and graphene was attributed to the structural changes in the ZnO layer and the interfaces. This study shows the mechanical behavior of ZnO/G nanolaminates and their influence on the development of novel electro-optical devices based on these structures.
