Quantitative disease resistance(QDR)remains the most prevalent form of plant resistance in crop fields and wild ***-wide association studies(GWAS)have proved to be successful in deciphering the quantitative genetic basis of complex traits such as *** unravel the genetics of QDR to the devastating worldwide bacterial pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum,we performed a GWAS by challenging a highly polymorphic local mapping population of Arabidopsis thaliana with four *** type III effector(T3E)mutants,identified as key pathogenicity determinants after a first screen on an *** core collection of 25 *** most quantitative trait loci(QTLs)were highly specific to the identity of the T3E mutant(ripAC,ripAG,ripAQ,and ripU),we finely mapped a common QTL located on a cluste. of nucleotide-binding domain and leucine-rich repeat(NLR)genes that exhibited structural *** functionally validated one of these NLRs as a susceptibility factor in response to ***,named it Bacterial Wilt Susceptibility 1(BWS1),and cloned two alleles that conferred contrasting levels of *** characterization indicated that expression of BWS1 leads to suppression of immunity triggered by different *** *** addition,we showed a direct interaction between BWS1 and RipAC T3E,and BWS1 and SUPPRESSOR OF G2 ALLELE OF skp1(SGT1b),the latter interaction being suppressed by ***,our results highlight a putative role for BWS1 as a quantitative susceptibility factor directly targeted by the T3E RipAC,mediating negative regulation of the SGT1-dependent immune response.

Double-hit compression tests were performed on ste.60 ste.l containing microalloying elements niobium and vanadium over a range of temperatures and strain rates penment to hot rolling. The fractional softening was evaluated by use of the offset method, which was confirmed to be a very reasonable method. Appropriate expressions are given for the static recrystallization kinetics as a function of temperature and strain rate. Particular attention is paid to the effect of strain rate on static recrystallization. It can be shown that the static softening is apparently accelerated by strain rate. Recrystallization in low temperature auste.itic region is stopped due to precipitation of carbonitrides of microalloying elements, which is reflected in the form of a plateau in the curves of static softening.

During the upward period of solar cycle 23, the imaging riometer at Zhongshan, Antarctica (geomag. lat. 74.5°S) was used to study the solar proton events and the X-ray solar flares which are associated with the absorption events. In our study, the relationship between the absorption intensity and X-ray flux is found in a power form which is consiste.t with the theoretical result. The imaging riometer absorption data at Ny-Alesund, Svalbard reconfirm the above relationship. We also argue that only M-class flares can generate a significant daytime absorption.

Field work conducted in September 1998 and Summer 1999 aimed to reassess the ophiolitic segment of the Yarlung Zangbo suture zone (YZS) and shed new light on the preserved fragments of Neo\|Tethys ocean\|floor. This easte.n ophiolitic segment was partly surveyed during the 1980 Sino\|French Cooperative Investigation of himalayas, but little work has been done since that time. Progress in ophiolite research field and new developments in modern ocean crust guided us in the recent field work investigation. Mantle peridotites and associated minor crustal units are assumed Early Cretaceous in age, while diabase interbedded with phyllites and radiolarian sediments of presumed seamount origin are attributed to Late jurassic—Early Cretaceous age. Six different massifs were visited that are from west to east: jiding, Qunrang, Beimarang, Dazhuqu, Luobusa, and Zedang. Each massif presents specific characteristics summarized below. The jiding massif is made of partly to totally serpentinized granular upper mantle harzburgites with orthopyroxenite banding, a transitional Moho zone, a thick diabase sill\|dike complex intruded into heterogeneous gabbro, and pillow lavas.. high\|temperature plastic foliation, although generally oriented NW—SE, and lineation show folding. Numerous gabbroic and diabasic intrusions are observed in peridotites. The orientations of the mafic rocks foliation and lineation do not fit the structure of the host peridotites. The 350m thick transition zone is a syntectonically intrusive sequence of mantle peridotites cut by abundant different types of gabbro and diabase. In one case intrusion of gabbro postdates serpentinization of peridotites and the outer margin of the xenolith enclosed in fine\|grained gabbro has reacted to form pegmatitic hornblende gabbro. Microalloyed linepipe ste.ls were first introduced in 1959 at strength levels around 52-60 ksi [1] [2].The ste.ls were generally strengthened by niobium or vanadium used *** strengths levels increased to X-70 in the early 1970’s niobium and vanadium were used in combination and controlled rolling was introduced on a broad *** strengths decrease tolerance for impurities and non-metallic inclusions which required improved ste.lmaking ***,carbon,and nitrogen were reduced and continuous casting was increasingly applied which required improved ladle refining and deoxidation ***-molybdenum ste.ls were introduced by IPSCO in 1972 [3] and by Italsider in 1974 [4].ste.ls with higher niobium contents were also introduced in the early 1970’s but available ste.lmaking technologies limited the use of optimum niobium to carbon ratios,*** approaching *** the ste.ls benefited from the effect of niobium in retarding auste.ite recrystallization at relatively high rolling temperatures and they developed attractive combinations of strength and toughness in old manufacturing facilities using simple (relaxed) rolling *** in the price of molybdenum and vanadium in the past decade and expanded application of API Grade X-80 linepipe,have led to more widespread use of niobium contents up to 0.11 percent,in combination with 0.02-0.03 percent carbon (near stoichiometry) thus maximizing the effects of solute niobium during rolling,in lowering transformation temperature,and thereby reducing reliance on other alloying,often expensive,*** history of these developments will be presented and applications of the concept will be summarized.

There has been a considerable development in microfluidic based immunodiagnostics over the past few years which has greatly favored the growth of novel point-of-care-testing(POCT).however,the realization of an inexpensive,low-power POCT needs cheap and disposable microfluidic devices that can perform autonomously with minimum user *** work,for the first time,reports the development of a new microchannel capillary flow assay(MCFA)platform that can perform chemiluminescence based ELISA with lyophilized chemiluminescent *** new MCFA platform exploits the ultra-high sensitivity of chemiluminescent detection while eliminating the shortcomings associated with liquid reagent handling,control of assay sequence and user *** functionally designed microchannels along with adequate hydrophilicity produce a sequential flow of assay reagents and autonomously performs the ultra-high sensitive chemiluminescence based ELISA for the detection of malaria biomarker such as *** MCFA platform with no external flow control and simple chemiluminescence detection can easily communicate with smartphone via USB-OTG port using a custom-designed optical *** use of the smartphone for display,data transfer,storage and analysis,as well as the source of power allows the development of a smartphone based POCT analyzer for disease *** paper reports a limit of detection(LOD)of 8 ng/mL by the smartphone analyzer which is sensitive enough to detect active malarial *** MCFA platform developed with the smartphone analyzer can be easily customized for different biomarkers,so a hand-held POCT for various infectious diseases can be envisaged with full networking capability at low cost.
