Two plant toxins, crotin Ⅰand crotin Ⅱhave been isolated from the seeds of the Euphorbiacea Croton tiglium, which is a kind of Chinese medicinal herb named Ba Dou. The relative molecular masses estimated by SDS-PAGE were 40 and 15kDa and the isoetectric point estimated to be 8.0 and 6.7, respectively. The acute LD was evaluated at 72 h were 0.45 mg per mouse for crotin Ⅰand 2.23 mg

EPR STUDIES OF CUBANE-LIKE TETRANUCLEAR MOLYBDENUM CLUSTER COMPOUNDS

The polycrystalline EPR spectra of three cubane-type tetranuclear molybdenum cluster compounds Mo4S4(μ-OAc)2(dtp)4(1), Mo4S4(μ-OAc)2(dtp)4-·H (2), Mo4OS3(μ-dtp)3(dtp)3(3) are reported. By comparison of the EPR parameters at room temperature and at 77K, it is found that the EPR spectra of (1) and (2) should be attributed to the whole molecule of the cluster compounds while that of (3) to the molybdenum atoms under two different local environments. According to the results of quantum chemistry calculations by means of SCC-EHMO method and the data of X-ray crystal structure analysis, it is shown that the frontier orbital (HOMO), which is composed mainly of the multiple centre d-pπ bonds botween the metal atoms and the bridge (or terminal) groups and occupied by the unpaired electrons of the clusters, is similar to that of the π-conjugated system of free radicals. Transition metal cyanides have been studied for a long time as such compounds process various interesting physical properties and can be used in many fields, such as catalyst, molecular-based magnets and zeolitic property. The cyanide ligand is of a versatile ligand which can assemble new complexes that may exhibit intriguing architectures and new topologies, many researches were focus on the copper cyanide system from viewpoint of structural engineering because of their diversity geometric constraints. On the other hand, helical structures have received especially much attention in the past few decades not only because helicity is essentially for life activity, but also due to their potential applications in asymmetric catalysis and nonlinear optical materials. Consequently, tremendous single or double helical chains have been generated, most helical polymers have been obtained by using helical *** this article we report the synthesis, crystal structure of one cyanide-bridged coordination polymer,[Cu2Fe(CN)4(1,10-phen)3]n·2nH2O (1). To our knowledge, compound 1 is the first example of a one-dimensional helical chain structure including different metal atoms which all have different coordination modes.
