Liquid composite moulding (LCM) processes are used to manufacture high quality and complex-shaped composite parts in the automotive, marine, aerospace and civil industries. On-line sensing plays an important role in controlling the quality of the final product in the LCM manufacturing environment. The long-period fiber grating (LPG) technology, a new real-time fiber optic sensor system, was developed to monitor the flow front progression. The sensor operation and characterization under various process conditions were discussed in detail. The experimental results showed that LPG sensors were robust and reliable to detect the arrival of resin at pre-selected locations in structures with low-medium fiber volume fraction; however were limited at different depths in structures with high fiber volume fraction.

Bulk metallic glass Zr_52.5Ni_14.6Al_10Cu_17.9Ti_5 was prepared by melt injection casting method. Its glass transition and crystallization temperatures were determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) to be 63. K and 710 K respectively. By analysis of X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM ), the predominant crystallized phase of Zr_2Ni0.67O0.3. distributed on glass state matrix was detected after annealing at 673.K for 600 s. The transformation to Zr_2Ni_0.67O_0.3. and a small amount of ZrAl and Zr_2Cu took place after annealing for 600 s at temperature from 703.K to 723.K. With increasing annealing temperature from 753.K to 823.K, the amounts of ZrAl and Zr_2Cu increased, but the size of the crystals did not significantly change. The transformation to Zr_2Ni_0.67O_0.3. is interface-controlled, but is diffusion-controlled to Zr_2Cu and ZrAl. With increasing annealing temperature up to 200 K above T_x, the nanometer grains became very fine because of the increase of nucleation rate for Zr_2Cu and ZrAl.

Numerical Wave Channel with Absorbing Wave-Maker

The numerical wave channel has been developed based on the volume of fluid method (VOF) in conjunction with the Navier-Stokes equations. The absorbing wave-maker boundary on the left side of the channel is presented by prescribing velocity reference to linear wave-maker theory. The principle of which is that the numerical wave-maker is designed to move in a way that generates the required incident wave and cancels out any reflected wave that reach it at the same time. On the right side of the channel, the open boundary is set to permit incident waves to be transmitted freely. The parametric studies have been carried out at a range of ratios of water depth to wave length d/ L from 0.124 to 0.219, with wave height in the front of paddle/water depth ratio (H0 / d) from 0.1 to 0.3. Wave height, wave pressure distribution along the channel and velocity field are obtained for both open boundary condition and reflective boundary condition at the other end of the channel. For a reflective case, it is shown that the absorbing wave-maker is very effective in canceling out the reflected wave that reaches the numerical paddle and highly repeatable waves can be generated.

＜正＞Some technical issues are discussed on value-added application first. After a research on SIP （Session Initial Protocol） from the TALK angle （TALK: the communication that TCAP carries on to form a dialogue between a pair of nodes in the network, emphasizes two parties）, an INAP （Intelligent Network Application Part） over SIP protocol stack model is proposed here. As INAP is based on ASN.1 （Abstract Syntax Notation.1）, and SIP is based on text, then, some research about syntax and semantics are carried on. Relevant illustrations and applications about the protocol translation from an ASN.1-based agreement to a text-based agreement are also given in this paper.

In order to improve the quality of remote sensing image fusion,a new method combining nonsubsampled Laplacian pyramid (NLP)and bidimensional empirical mode decomposition(BEMD)is ***,the high resolution panchromatic image (PAN)is decomposed using NLP until the approximate component and the low resolution multispectral image(MS)contain features with a similar ***,the approximation component and the MS are decomposed by BEMD,resulting in a number of bidimensional intrinsic mode functions(BIMF)and a residue *** instantaneous frequency is computed in 4 directions of the *** the positive or negative coefficients in the corresponding position,a weighted algorithm is designed for fusing the high frequency details using the instantaneous frequency and the coefficient absolute value of the BIMFs as fusion *** fused image is then obtained through inverse BEMD and *** results have illustrated the advantage of this method over the IHS,DWT andà-Trous wavelet in both spectral and spatial detail qualities.
