Exosome is an excellent vesicle for in vivo delivery of therapeutics,including RNAi and chemical *** extremely high efficiency in cancer regression can partly be attributed to its fusion mechanism in delivering therapeutics to cytosol without endosome ***,being composed of a lipidbilayer membrane without specific recognition capacity for aimed-cells,the entry into nonspecific cells can lead to potential side-effects and *** engineering approaches for targeting-capacity to deliver therapeutics to specific cells is *** with chemical modification in vitro and genetic engineering in cells have been reported to decorate exosomes with targeting *** nanoparticles have been used to harbor tumor-specific ligands displayed on exosome *** negative charge reduces nonspecific binding to vital cells with negatively charged lipid-membrane due to the electrostatic repulsion,thus lowering the side-effect and *** this review,we focus on the uniqueness of RNA nanoparticles for exosome surface display of chemical ligands,small peptides or RNA aptamers,for specific cancer targeting to deliver anticancer therapeutics,highlighting recent advances in targeted delivery of siRNA and miRNA that overcomes the previous RNAi delivery *** understanding of exosome engineering with RNA nanotechnology promises efficient therapies for a wide range of cancer subtypes.

Identification of KASP markers and putative genes for pre-harvest sprouting resistance in common wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)

Common wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)is the most important crop in the world and a typical allopolyploid with a large and complex ***-harvest sprouting(PHS)leads to a significant reduction in grain quality *** is a complex trait with related QTL located on different ***,the study of markers and genes related to PHS resistance is limited especially for whitegrained *** pairs of near isogenic lines(NILs)from a white-grained wheat cross of CharaDM5637B*8 targeting a major QTL for PHS resistance(***-3A.1)on wheat chromosme 3AL were genotyped using the 90K SNP Illumina iSelect *** SNPs were identified,with a 75%-100%consistency between genotype and phenotype in the resistant or susceptible *** 10 SNPs were converted to cost-effective kompetitive allele-specific PCR(KASP)*** of 48 wheat cultivars with different phenotypes of PHS identified four KASP markers with 81.3%-85.4%conformity between genotype and *** investigation revealed that the four SNPs(BS00022245_51,Kukri_c49927_151,BS00022884_51 and BS00110550_51)corresponding to the four validated KASP markers are residing in three independent genes(TraesCS3A03G1072800,TraesCS3A03G1072400,TraesCS3A03G1071800)close to each other with a distance of 4.28-4.48 Mb to the targeted *** three annotated genes have potential functions related to PHS *** study revealed that combined use of NILs and the 90K SNP chip is a powerful approach for developing KASP markers and mining functional genes in *** KASP markers for PHS resistance on chromosome 3AL are useful for high-throughput evaluation and marker-assisted selection,and the three identified genes could lead to a better understanding of the genetic pathways controlling PHS.

The South China Sea suffers strongly from the typhoon storm surge disasters in China,and its northern coastal areas are facing severe ***,it is necessary and urgent to establish an assessment system for rating typhoon storm surge *** constructed an effective and reliable rating assessment system for typhoon storm surge disaster based on the theories of over-threshold,distribution function family,and composite extreme *** over-threshold sample was used as the basis of data analysis,the composite extreme value expansion model was used to derive the design water increment,and then the disaster level was delineated based on the return period *** results of the extreme value model comparison show that the Weibull-Pareto distribution is more suitable than the classical extreme value distribution for fitting the over-threshold *** results of the return period projection are relatively stable based on different analysis *** the 10 typhoon storm surges as examples,they caused landfall in the Guangdong area in the past 10 *** results of the assessment ranking indicate that the risk levels based on the return period levels obtained from different distributions are generally *** classifying low-risk areas,the classification criteria of the state Oceanic Administration,China(SOA,2012)are more *** the high-risk areas,the results of the assessment ranking based on return period are more consistent with those of the SOA.

The reliability and deterministic analyses of wood-cored stiffened deep cement mixing and deep cement mixing column-supported embankments(referred to as WSCSE and DCSE,respectively)considering serviceability limit state requirements are presented in this *** field theory was used to simulate the spatial variability of soilcement mixing(SCM)material in which the adaptive Kriging Monte Carlo simulation was adopted to estimate the failure probability of a columnsupported embankment(CSE)system.A new method for stochastically generating random values of unconfined compressive strength(qu)and the ratio(Ru)between the undrained elastic modulus and qu of SCM material based on statistical correlation data is *** performance of CSEs concerning changes in the mean(μ),coefficient of variation(CoV),and vertical spatial correlation length(θv)of qu and Ru are presented and *** obtained results indicate that WSCSE can provide a significantly higher reliability level and can tolerate more SCM material spatial variability than *** performance of DCSE and WSCSE,which can be considered satisfactory in a deterministic framework,cannot guarantee an acceptable reliability level from a probabilistic *** highlights the importance and necessity of employing reliability analyses for the design of ***,consideration of only μ and CoV of qu seems to be sufficient for reliability analysis of WSCSE while for DCSE,uncertainties regarding the Ru(*** μ and CoV)and θv of qu cannot be ignored.

Assessment of ERA5 and ERA-Interim in Reproducing Mean and Extreme Climates over West Africa

In situ data in West Africa are scarce,and reanalysis datasets could be an alternative source to alleviate the problem of data ***,because of uncertainties in numerical prediction models and assimilation methods,among other things,existing reanalysis datasets can perform with various degrees of quality and ***,a proper assessment of their shortcomings and strengths should be performed prior to their *** this study,we examine the performance of ERA5 and ERA-interim(ERAI)products in representing the mean and extreme climates over West Africa for the period 1981-2018 using observations from CRU and *** major conclusion is that ERA5 showed a considerable decrease in precipitation and temperature biases and an improved representation of inter-annual variability in much of western ***,the annual cycle is better captured by ERA5 in three of the region’s climatic zones;specifically,precipitation is well-reproduced in the Savannah and Guinea Coast,and temperature in the *** terms of extremes,the ERA5 performance is ***,both reanalyses underestimate the intensity and frequency of heavy precipitations and overestimate the number of wet days,as the numerical models used in reanalyses tend to produce drizzle more *** ERA5 performs better than ERAI,both datasets are less successful in capturing the observed long-term *** ERA5 has achieved considerable progress compared to its predecessor,improved datasets with better resolution and accuracy continue to be needed in sectors like agriculture and water resources to enable climate impact assessment.

本文报告了为创建护理知识网络(Nursing Knowledge Network,NKN)对不同国家护理院校进行环境扫描调查所收集到的信息。采用在线方式(2021年2-10月)进行环境扫描,探索研究领域的确定、现有资源、预期收益、教学研究创新、知识传播障碍及网络的预期贡献。目标信息提供者包括来自13个国家63所大学的200名护理教师。要求每所大学有1名参与者回答问卷。共有42所大学(约70%)回复,包括巴西21所,加拿大4所,葡萄牙和西班牙各3所,哥伦比亚、墨西哥、秘鲁和美国各2所,智利、意大利和巴拉圭各1所。其分享了相关信息和见解:通过护理高等教育机构之间的协作和交流,全球可以加强共同创新和研究合作能力;较少被研究的领域是知识网络生成证据、为当地科学实践提供信息的潜在重点。这些信息将为进一步了解护理发展,以及地方、区域和全球护理证据应用和传播相关的政府政策与计划制订提供参考。

Electrical geophysical evaluation of susceptibility to flooding in University of Nigeria, Nsukka main campus and its environs, Southeastern Nigeria

Flooding occurs when rainfall exceeds the absorption capacity of soil and causes significant environmental *** this study,electrical resistivity techniques were employed to assess the flood susceptibility of the study area by examining variations in electrical *** to flooding,Vertical Electrical Sounding(VES)and Electrical Resistivity Tomography(ERT)profiles were conducted to determine the variations in resistivity within subsurface lithologies exposed to the injected *** injected current penetrated the subsurface units characterised by resistivity ranging from 190.5Ω·m to 6,775.7Ω·m,42.3Ω·m to 7,297.4Ω·m,and 320.2Ω·m to 24,433.3Ω·m in the first,second and third layers,*** layers were identified as lateritic topsoil,medium-coarse brownish grained sand,and coarse pebbly blackish sand,*** calculated reflection coefficients between layers 1,2,and 3 reveal alternation in layers with values ranging from−0.04 to 0.66 and 0.36 to 0.95 for and,*** transverse resistivity,longitudinal resistivity and anisotropy ranged from 243.59Ω·m to 24,115.42Ω·m,199.61Ω·m to 14,950.76Ω·m,and 1.02 to *** derived from the ERT profiles reveal variations in resistivity,pinpointing areas of low resistivity which correspond to waterlogged and impermeable *** result of this study underscores the importance of integrated resistivity techniques in the study of floods,as it provides valuable insights into flood behaviour,and subsurface dynamics.

Response patterns of simulated corn yield and soil nitrous oxide emission to precipitation change

Background Precipitation plays an important role in crop production and soil greenhouse gas emissions. However, how crop yield and soil nitrous oxide（N2O） emission respond to precipitation change, particularly with different background precipitations（dry, normal, and wet years）, has not been well investigated. In this study, we examined the impacts of precipitation changes on corn yield and soil N2O emission using a long-term（1981–2020, 40 years） climate dataset as well as seven manipulated precipitation treatments with different background precipitations using the De Nitrification-De Composition（DNDC） *** Results showed large variations of corn yield and precipitation but small variation of soil N2O emission among 40 years. Both corn yield and soil N2O emission showed near linear relationships with precipitation based on the long-term precipitation data, but with different response patters of corn yield and soil N2O emission to precipitation manipulations. Corn yield showed a positive linear response to precipitation manipulations in the dry year, but no response to increases in precipitation in the normal year, and a trend of decrease in the wet year. The extreme drought treatments reduced corn yield sharply in both normal and wet years. In contrast, soil N2O emission mostly responded linearly to precipitation manipulations. Decreases in precipitation in the dry year reduced more soil N2O emission than those in the normal and wet years, while increases in precipitation increased more soil N2O emission in the normal and wet years than in the dry *** This study revealed different response patterns of corn yield and soil N2O emission to precipitation and highlights that mitigation strategy for soil N2O emission reduction should consider different background climate conditions.

Combinatorial Performance Mapping of Near-NMC111 Li-ion Cathodes

A combinatorial library of twenty-three,phase pure,near-NMC111(LiNi_(0.33) Mn_(0.33)Co_(0,33)O_(2))composi-tions were synthesised and their electrochemical performance,was mapped(in lithium ion half-cells).Each of the 23 compositions was made in series,using a two-step process of 1)a rapid initial contin-uous hydrothermal precipitation,followed by 2)solid state *** 23 lithiated NMC samples were then subjected to analytical methods including electron microscopy(selected samples),Powder X-ray Diffraction and electrochemical tests in half cell Li-ion configurations versus Li metal.A sample with a Ni:Mn:Co(NMC)ratio of 39:28:33,revealed a specific capacity of 150 mA h g^(-1) at a C/20 rate,which was 63 and 43% greater capacity than NMC111 and NMC433 samples produced in this work,*** sample with NMC ratio 47:25:28,showed the best capacity retention characteristics,retaining 70%of its C/20 capacity at 1C,after 40 *** analysis of all the samples by cyclic voltammetry and elec-trochemical impedance spectroscopy,allowed compositional mapping of diffusion ***,the mapping data revealed a gradual change of properties across compositional space,which has vali-dated our combinatorial approach and allowed identification of the optimum performing near-NMC111 cathode materials.
