Real-time cardiovascular magnetic resonance-guided radiofrequency ablation:A comprehensive review

Cardiac magnetic resonance(CMR)imaging could enable major advantages when guiding in real-time cardiac electrophysiology procedures offering high-resolu-tion anatomy,arrhythmia substrate,and ablation lesion visualization in the absence of ionizing *** the last decade,technologies and platforms for performing electrophysiology procedures in a CMR environment have been ***,performing procedures outside the conventional fluoro-scopic laboratory posed technical,practical and safety *** development of magnetic resonance imaging compatible ablation systems,the recording of high-quality electrograms despite significant electromagnetic interference and reliable methods for catheter visualization and lesion assessment are the main limiting *** first human reports,in order to establish a procedural workflow,have rationally focused on the relatively simple typical atrial flutter ablation and have shown that CMR-guided cavotricuspid isthmus ablation represents a valid alternative to conventional *** expansion to other more complex arrhythmias,especially ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation,would be of essential impact,taking into consideration the widespread use of substrate-based ***,all limitations need to be solved before application of CMR-guided ablation in a broad clinical setting.

Printing on Anodized Aluminium Surface

Anodizing of aluminium is widely applied when a controllable morphology and properties of the surface are required. Anodic oxide films may be developed by appropriate selection of electrolyte and film-forming conditions for various applications in the fields of architecture, aerospace, electronics, packaging and printing. In the present study, the printability of aluminium with respect to anodizing conditions is discussed. In particular, AA1050 alloy specimens were anodized in either sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid at temperatures ranging from 10?C to 40?C, thereby affecting the porosity and anodic layer thickness. Both the porosity and oxide thickness increase with the temperature, whereas anodization in phosphoric acid produces thinner and more porous layer than that in sulfuric acid. After the anodization step, two different printing techniques were used (i.e. digital printing and screen printing). Printed specimens were characterized by means of colour parameters, microscopy, adhesion and light fastness test. Colour parameters and ink adhesion measurements indicate that both digital and screen printing techniques give a better print quality when the anodization step is conducted in the range of 20?C - 30?C.

Experimental Investigation of Inhibition Efficiency of Crocin for Chloride-Induced Corrosion of Aluminum Alloys

The use of Crocin, derived from the flowers of Crocus sativus, is investigated as corrosion inhibitor for the AA1050, AA5083, AA5754 and AA6082 aluminum alloys in chloride ions environment. Aluminum and aluminum alloys are subjected to corrosion in the aggressive environment of chlorides, so several green corrosion inhibitors, mostly of plant origin, with minimum impact on health and the environment have been examined. In this study, the inhibition efficiency of 1.25 mM Crocin in a 0.01 M NaCl corrosive solution was assessed via electrochemical corrosion techniques and gravimetric mass loss measurements of the aluminum alloys. The surface of the specimens was examined using Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy, Stereomicroscopy and Glossiness measurements. Experimental results reveal the protective anticorrosive action of Crocin for all aluminum alloys in the sodium chloride medium.

BACKGROUND Acute esophageal necrosis(AEN)is a rare entity with multifactorial etiology,usually presenting with signs of upper gastrointestinal *** To systematically review all available data on demographics,clinical features,outcomes and management of this medical *** A systematic literature search was performed with respect to the PRISMA statement(end-of-search date:October 24,2018).Data on the study design,interventions,participants and outcomes were extracted by two independent *** Seventy-nine studies were included in this ***,114 patients with AEN were identified,of whom 83 were males and 31 *** patient age was 62.1±*** most common presenting symptoms were melena,hematemesis or other manifestations of gastric bleeding(85%).The lower esophagus was most commonly involved(92.9%).The most widely implemented treatment modality was conservative treatment(75.4%),while surgical or endoscopic intervention was required in 24.6%of the *** overall followup was 66.2±101.8 *** 29.9%of patients died either during the initial hospital stay or during the follow-up *** symptoms on presentation[Odds ratio 3.50(1.09-11.30),P=0.03]and need for surgical or endoscopic treatment[surgical:Odds ratio 1.25(1.03-1.51),P=0.02;endoscopic:Odds ratio 1.4(1.17-1.66),P<0.01]were associated with increased odds of complications.A sub-analysis separating early versus late cases(after 2006)revealed a significantly increased frequency of surgical or endoscopic intervention(9.7%vs 30.1%respectively,P=0.04)CONCLUSION AEN is a rare condition with controversial pathogenesis and unclear optimal *** the frequency of surgical and endoscopic intervention has increased in recent years,outcomes have remained the ***,further research work is needed to better understand how to best treat this potentially lethal disease.

Serum IgE levels in patients with intracranial tumors

Aim:Several epidemiological studies have shown an inverse correlation between allergy and brain *** purpose of this study was to compare the serum IgE levels between patients with gliomas and nonglial tumors and their possible prognostic ***:A total of 84 patients with intracranial tumors were included in this *** clinical presentation,estimation of serum IgE levels was assessed by *** information regarding the history of allergies was collected by ***:Of the 84 cases,42 were gliomas,23 were meningiomas,16 were metastases and 3 were primary central nervous system *** with high‑grade glioma had lower IgE levels than patients with low‑grade *** with glioma and meningioma had statistical significant lower serum IgE levels than patients with *** with glioblastoma with serum IgE levels greater than 24 U/mL had a better ***:Patients with glioma and meningioma had lower IgE levels than patients with metastatic lesions.A prognostic role of serum IgE levels was found in *** studies in larger patient series are required in order to verify our preliminary observations.
