The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

Background: Expanding the knowledge of pathogenesis of arteriosclerosis points at a central role of platelets in the development of acute coronary syndromes. Therefore, we sought to determine the impact of platelet count on longterm outcome in unstable angina/non-st-segment elevation myocardial infarction(UA/NstEMI) receiving contemporary treatment. Methods: This prospective cohort study included 1616 consecutive patients with UA/NstEMI. All patients underwent coronary angiography and, if appropriate, subsequent catheter-based revascularization within 24 hours of admission. Patients were divided in quintiles according to platelet count. The primary end point was all-cause mortality during long-term follow-up of up to 60 months. Results: During follow-up(median 17 months, interquartile range 6-31 months), 89 deaths and 74 nonfatal myocardial infarctions occurred. Patients with higher platelet counts were younger, more often female, and had lower height and weight as compared with patients with lower platelet counts. Mortality was significantly lower among patients in the second quintile of platelet count(181-210×109/L) as compared with the other quintiles(hazard ratio 0.39, 95%CI 0.19 to 0.81, P=.011). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed cumulative 4-year mortality rates of 12.5%, 3.8%, 10.4%, 9.8%, and 11.4%for patients in the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth quintiles. This association persisted after multivariate adjustment. No association of platelet count and nonfatal myocardial infarctions was observed. Conclusions: We found a nonlinear association between platelet count and long-term mortality. The lowest mortality was observed in patients with a platelet count between 181 and 210×109/L.

Objectives: To quantify the impact of baseline renal function on in-hospital and long term mortality in patients with unstable angina/non-st elevation acute myocardial infarction (UA/NstEMI) treated with a very early invasive strategy. Design: Prospective cohort study of 1400 consecutive patients with UA/NstEMI und ergoing coronary angiography and subsequent coronary stenting of the culprit les ion as the primary revascularisation strategy within 24 hours of admission. Patients were stratified according to calculated glomerula r filtration rate (GFR) on admission. Results: In-hospital mortality was 0%amo ng patients with a GFR ≥130 ml/min/1.73 m2, 0.4%with a GFR of 90-129 ml/min/1 .73 m2, 2.6%with a GFR of 60-89 ml/min/1.73m2, and 5.1%with a GFR of justing for potential c onfounders, a GFR of strong independent predictor of long term mortality (HR 2.6, 95%CI 1.5 to 4.5; p=0.001). Conclusions: Basel ine renal function is a strong independent predictor of in-hospital and long te rm mortality after UA/NstEMI treated with very early revascularisa-tion.

Acute myeloid leukaemia(AML)patients harbouring certain chromosome abnormalities have particularly adverse *** these patients,targeted therapies have not yet made a significant clinical *** understand the molecular landscape of poor prognosis AML we profiled 74 patients from two different centres(in UK and Finland)at the proteomic,phosphoproteomic and drug response phenotypic *** data were complemented with transcriptomics analysis for 39 *** integration highlighted a phosphoproteomics signature that define two biologically distinct groups of KMT2A rearranged leukaemia,which we term MLLGA and *** presented increased DOT1L phosphorylation,HOxA gene expression,CDK1 activity and phosphorylation of proteins involved in RNA metabolism,replication and DNA damage when compared to MLLGB and no KMT2A rearranged *** was particularly sensitive to 15 compounds including genotoxic drugs and inhibitors of mitotic kinases and inosine-5-monosphosphate dehydrogenase(IMPDH)relative to other ***-risk KMT2A-MLLT3 cases were mainly represented in a third group closer to MLLGA than to *** expression of IMPDH2 and multiple nucleolar proteins was higher in MLLGA and correlated with the response to IMPDH inhibition in KMT2A rearranged leukaemia,suggesting a role of the nucleolar activity in sensitivity to *** summary,our multilayer molecular profiling of AML with poor prognosis and KMT2A-MLLT3 karyotypes identified a phosphoproteomics signature that defines two biologically and phenotypically distinct groups of KMT2A rearranged *** data provide a rationale for the potential development of specific therapies for AML patients characterised by the MLLGA phosphoproteomics signature identified in this study.
