Production of liquid bio-fuel from catalytic de-oxygenation:Pyrolysis of beech wood and flax shives

This study presents a detailed analysis of the catalytic de-oxygenation of the liquid and gaseous pyrolytic products of two biomasses (beech wood and flax shives) using different catalysts (commercial HZSM-5 and H-Y,and lab-synthesised Fe-HZSM-5,Fe-H-Y,Pt/Al2O3 and CoMo/Al2O3). The experiments were all conducted in a semi-batch reactor under the same operating conditions for all feed materials. BET specific surface area,BJH pore size distribution and FT-IR technologies have been used to characterise the catalysts,while gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS),flame ionisation detection (GC-FID) and thermal conductivity detection (GC-TCD) were used to examine the liquid and gaseous pyrolytic products. It was firstly seen that at higher catalyst-to-biomass ratios of 4∶1,de-oxygenation efficiency did not experience any further significant improvement. FeHZSM-5 was deemed to be the most efficient of the catalysts utilised as it helped reach the lowest oxygen contents in the bio-oils samples and the second best was HZSM-5. It was also found that HZSM-5 and H-Y tended to privilege the decarbonylation route(production of CO),whilst their iron-modified counterparts favoured the decarboxylation one (production of CO2) for both biomasses studied. It was then seen that the major bio-oil components (carboxylic acids) underwent almost complete conversion under catalytic treatment to produce mostly unoxygenated aromatic compounds,phenols and gases like CO and CO2. Finally,phenols were seen to be the family most significantly formed from the actions of all catalysts.

Vertical orthogonal joints are a common feature in shallow crustal *** are several competing theories for their formation despite the *** examined the exceptional exposures of orthogonal joints in flat-lying Ordovician limestone beds from the Havre-Saint-Pierre Region in Quebec,Canada(north shore of Saint-Lawrence River)to test conceptual models of joint formation in a natural *** the region,the spacing of cross-joints is consistently larger than the spacing of systematic joints by a factor of 1.5 *** joint-spacing-to-bed-thickness ratios(s/t)are much larger in these beds(s/t=4.3 for systematic joints,and 6.4 for cross-joints)than those in higher strained strata along the south shore of the Saint-Lawrence River(s/t=1),highlighting the effect of tectonic strain in decreasing fracture spacing and block *** high values of s/t indicate that cross-joint formation was unlikely caused by a switch from compression to tension once a critical s/t ratio for systematic joints was reached(as hypothesized in previous studies).We proposed a new model for the formation of orthogonal joint systems where the principal stress axes locally switch during the formation of systematic *** presence of ladder-shaped orthogonal joints suggests a state of effective stress withσ_(1)^(∗)≫0>σ_(2)^(∗)>σ_(3)^(∗)and whereσ_(2)^(∗)-σ_(3)^(∗)is within the range of fracture strength variability at the time of *** research provides a new mechanical model for the formation of orthogonal joint systems and cuboidal blocks.

经渗透脱水处理的蓝莓在流化床中用5种不同的干燥温度(50、60、70、80、90℃)进行干燥,结果显示, 干燥温度影响物料的水分散失,水分散失率随温度的提高而增加。随着干燥处理的进行水分含量和水分活度都呈下降趋势,且温度越高,两者下降越多。根据费克第二不稳定扩散法则,计算出不同温度下的有效水分扩散率 (D_(eff))分别为(0．753 2～3．673 7)×10^(-10)m^2/s。在干燥脱水处理过程中 D_(eff)随处理温度升高而增加。

Coarctation of the aorta(CoA)is a relatively common congenital cardiac defect often causing few symptoms and therefore can be challenging to *** hallmark finding on physical examination is upper extremity hypertension,and for this reason,CoA should be considered in any young hypertensive patient,justifying measurement of lower extremity blood pressure at least once in these *** presence of a significant pressure gradient between the arms and legs is highly suggestive of the *** diagnosis and treatment are important as long-term data consistently demonstrate that patients with CoA have a reduced life expectancy and increased risk of cardiovascular *** repair has traditionally been the mainstay of therapy for correction,although advances in endovascular technology with covered stents or stent grafts permit nonsurgical approaches for the management of older children and adults with native CoA and *** hypertension and vascular dysfunction can lead to an increased risk of coronary disease,which,remains the greatest cause of long-term ***,blood pressure control and periodic reassessment with transthoracic echocardiography and threedimensional imaging(computed tomography or cardiac magnetic resonance)for should be performed regularly as cardiovascular complications may occur decades after the intervention.
