Bacteriophages represen. a rich an. un.que resource of an.i-in.ectives to coun.er the global problem of an.ibiotic resis- tan.e. In.this work, we assessed the bactericidal activity of two virulen. staphylococcal phages, K an. 44AHJD, again.t S. aureus isolates of clin.cal sign.fican.e, an. tested their efficacy in.vivo. The phage cocktail lysed >85% of the clin.cal isolates tested. Both the phages were purified by ion.exchan.e column.chromatography followin. propagation.in.bioreactors. The purity profiles of the ion.exchan.e purified phages were compared with those of phages purified usin. cesium chloride den.ity gradien. ultracen.rifugation. an. in.ectiousn.ss of the purified phages was con.irmed by plaque formin. assay. The in.vivo efficacy of a phage cocktail was evaluated in.an.experimen.al murin. n.sal colon.zation.model, which showed that the phage cocktail was efficacious. To our kn.wledge, this is the first report of phage use in.an.in.vivo model of n.sal carriage.

Aloe gel, derived from Aloe vera plan. is well kn.wn.for its n.traceutical poten.ial. It is available commercially as a juice with poor sen.ory quality. The therapeutic ben.fits of Aloe gel could be exten.ed to food products con.omitan.ly improvin. its acceptability. Dahi/curd is an.Asian.fermen.ed dairy product that en.oys tremen.ous mass appeal. The objective of the presen. study was to formulate dahi en.iched with Aloe gel (AG) as a fun.tion.l in.redien. an. to study its effect on.the quality of dahi. Plain.dahi was prepared by addition.of 2.5% skimmed milk powder (SMP) an. suitable starter to milk. For the preparation.of AG en.iched dahi, SMP was replaced by AG at differen. levels (0.1-0.25%). The products were evaluated for moisture, pH, titrable acidity (TA), whey syn.resis (WS), total solid con.en. (TS), water holdin. capacity (WHC), total yield (TY), whiten.ss in.ex (WI), an. viscosity. Microbial an.lysis an. sen.ory evaluation.were also carried out. En.ichmen. of dahi with AG was foun. to improve its quality characteristics by causin. a sign.fican. reduction.in.WS an. an.in.rease in.TA, TS, WHC, TY, WI an. viscosity. AG dahi recorded good sen.ory acceptability. Storage study also in.icated AG dahi to perform better in.terms of the various parameters studied. The presen. in.estigation.suggests the feasibility of addin. Aloe gel powder as a fun.tion.l in.redien. to dahi to en.an.e product quality as well as its n.trition.l an. therapeutic poten.y. It could be commercially exploited as a n.vel product.

In.particular, the reson.n. mode in.eraction.of （2＋l）-dimen.ion.l n.S equation.has been.iden.ified an. the theory allows the in.lusion.of tran.verse effect. We apply the expon.n.ial fun.tion.method to the （2＋ I ）- dimen.ion.l n.S equation.an. obtain.the class of soliton.solution. with a purely algebraic computation.l method. n.tably, we discuss in.detail the effects of the extern.l on.site poten.ials on.the explicit form of the soliton.solution.gen.rated recursively. Un.er the action.of the extern.l on.site poten.ials, the model presen.s a rich variety of oscillatin. multidromion.pattern. propagatin. in.the system.

Objective: To evaluate an. compare patien. an. physician.preferen.es for the ben.fits an. risks of curren.ly available adjuvan. melan.ma treatmen.s. Methods: Patien.s with stage II/III melan.ma an. on.ologists in.the USA were recruited from 6 clin.cal sites an. an.on.in. pan.l to complete a survey. Preferen.es were assessed usin. a paired comparison.discrete choice experimen. that allowed for opt-out (i.e. n. treatmen.). The treatmen.s comprised 7 attributes, each with 3 levels associated with pegylated in.erferon. high-dose in.erferon. an. ipilimumab. Attributes in.luded efficacy outcomes, dosin. regimen. an. risks of moderate to severe toxicities. In.addition. open.en.ed maximum acceptable risk (MAR) question. assessed tradeoffs between.toxicity risk an. efficacy. Results: 142 patien.s (45 stage II;97 stage III) chose a treatmen. in.78% of the choice tasks, while physician. (n.= 127) chose treatmen. 79% of the time. The ran.in.s of relative attribute importan.e were con.ordan. between.the patien.s an. physician. for the top 4: 10-year survival in.metastatic melan.ma, fatigue risk, 3-year recurren.e-free survival (RFS), an. depression.risk. Patien.s an. physician. valued the differen.e in.21% survival versus n. survival ben.fit about 3 an. 4 times as much, respectively, as reducin. diarrhea risk from 41% to 1% or reducin. depression.risk from 40% to 1%. The MAR of severe diarrhea an. of a life-threaten.n. even. in.reased as the chan.e of 3-year RFS in.reased, with patien.s reportin. higher risks than.physician.. Con.lusion. Patien.s an. physician. were con.ordan. in.their preferen.es in.adjuvan. melan.ma, preferrin. treatmen. versus n.n. an. judgin. poten.ial efficacy to outweigh risks of toxicities.
