Ionic liquids(ILs)are expected to be used as readily available“designer”solvents,characterized by a number of tunable properties that can be obtained by modulating anion and cation combinations and ion chain lengths.Among them,its high ionicity is outstanding in the preparation and property modulation of two-dimensional(2D)materials.In this review,we mainly focus on the ILs-assisted exfoliation of 2D materials towards large-scale as well as functionalization.Meanwhile,electric-field controlled ILs-gating of 2D material systems have shown novel electronic,magnetic,optical and superconducting properties,attracting a broad range of scientific research activities.Moreover,ILs have also been extensively applied in various field practically.We summarize the recent developments of ILs modified 2D material systems from the electrochemical,solar cells and photocatalysis aspects,discuss their advantages and possibilities as“designer solvent”.It is believed that the design of ILs accompanying with diverse 2D materials will not only solve several scientific problems but also enrich materials design and engineer of 2D materials.

Partial substitution of polyoxometalate(POM)is an efficient route to modulate the catalytic property of maternal POM.In this work,a new Keggin type POM involving{Ni 6}cluster,{[Ni(H_(2) O)_(2)(Dach)_(2)][Ni(Dach)_(2)]_(2)}{[Ni_(6)Cl(μ-OH)_(3)(H_(2) O)(Dach)_(3)(WO_(4))(PW9 O_(3)_(4))][Ni_(6)(μ-OH)_(3)(H_(2) O)_(2)(Dach)_(3)(WO_(4))(PW9 O_(3)_(4))]}Cl·27H_(2) O,(1,Dach=1,2-diaminocyclohexane)was synthesized.Compounds 1 shows excellent catalytic performance in the selective oxidation of aniline to azoxybenzene(AOB)in water.The apparently different results from that with the matrix{PW 9 O_(3)_(4)}({PW9})suggest the successful regulation of the catalytic property of{PW9}by the introduction of the{Ni6}cluster into the skeleton.The experimental results indicate that the highlighted performance of 1 is contributed by the synergy of W and Ni sites,which are respectively responsible for the oxidation and condensation steps in the production of AOB.The good selectivity to AOB is essentially attributed to the effective modulation of the reaction rates of oxidation and condensation steps by W and Ni sites,respectively.

Objective:To investigate the quality of indoor air of different wards and units of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, sagamu, to ascertain their contribution to infection rate in the hospital.Methods:The microbial quality of indoor air of nine wards/units of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, sagamu, Nigeria was conducted. Sedimentation technique using open Petri-dishes containing different culture media was employed and samplings were done twice daily, one in the morning shortly after cleaning and before influx of people/patients into the wards/units and the other in the evening when a lot of activities would have taken place in these wards. Isolates were identified according to standard methods.Results:Results showed that there was a statistically significant difference(氈2= 6.0167) in the bacteria population of the different sampling time whereas it was not so for fungi population(氈2= 0.2857). Male medical ward(MMW) and male surgical general(MSG) recorded the highest bacterial and fungal growth while the operating theatre(OT) was almost free of microbial burden. The bacteria isolates were Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiellasp., Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus pyogenes andSerratia marscenceswhile the fungi isolates includedAspergillus flavus, Penicilliumsp.,Fusariumsp.,Candida albicansandAlternariasp.Staphylococcus aureuswas the predominantly isolated bacterium whilePenicilliumsp. was the most isolated fungus.Conclusions:Though most of the microbial isolates were potential and or opportunistic pathogens, there was no correlation between the isolates in this study and the surveillance report of nosocomial infection during the period of study, hence the contribution of the indoor air cannot be established. From the reduction noticed in the morning samples, stringent measures such as proper disinfection and regular cleaning, restriction of patient relatives' movement in and out of the wards/units need to be enforced so as to improve the quality of indoor air of our hospital w

Nowadays,smart buildings rely on Internet of things(loT)technology derived from the cloud and fog computing paradigms to coordinate and collaborate between connected objects.Fog is characterized by low latency with a wider spread and geographically distributed nodes to support mobility,real-time interaction,and location-based services.To provide optimum quality of user life in moderm buildings,we rely on a holistic Framework,designed in a way that decreases latency and improves energy saving and services efficiency with different capabilities.Discrete EVent system Specification(DEVS)is a formalism used to describe simulation models in a modular way.In this work,the sub-models of connected objects in the building are accurately and independently designed,and after installing them together,we easily get an integrated model which is subject to the fog computing Framework.Simulation results show that this new approach significantly,improves energy efficiency of buildings and reduces latency.Additionally,with DEVS,we can easily add or remove sub-models to or from the overall model,allowing us to continually improve our designs.

A regiodivergent hydrophosphorylation of enynes with phosphites has been developed using earthabundant nickel catalyst.The manipulation of regioselectivity can be achieved by regulating the insertion order of alkyne bonds with(RO)_(2)P(O)-Ni-H or R_(2)P(O)O-Ni-H species,respectively.Under the Ni/Xantphos catalysis,4,1-hydrophosphorylation is selectively obtained while the adding of acid can promote reactions towards 1,2-addition.By employing an additional Pd-H catalysis,2,1-hydrophosphorylation is also an accessible task in one-pot reaction.Mechanistic studies and analysis have also been performed to interpret the origin of the regioselective regulation.This work highlights the arts in accessing different regioisomers by diverting common elementary reaction steps.

The field of neuromodulation has experienced significant advancements in the past decade,owing to breakthroughs in disciplines such as materials science,genetics,bioengineering,photonics,and beyond.The convergence of these fields has resulted in the development of nanotransducers,devices that harness the synergies of these diverse disciplines.These nanotransducers,essential for neuromodulation,often draw inspiration from energy conversion processes found in nature for their unique modalities.In this review,we will delve into the latest advancements in wireless neuromodulation facilitated by optical,magnetic,and mechanical nanotransducers.We will examine their working principles,properties,advantages,and limitations in comparison to current methods for deep brain neuromodulation,highlighting the impact of natural systems on their design and functionality.Additionally,we will underscore potential future directions,emphasizing how continued progress in materials science,neuroscience,and bioengineering might expand the horizons of what is achievable with nanotransducer-enabled neuromodulation.

Reliability analysis and reliability-based optimization design require accurate measurement of failure probability under input uncertainties.A unified probabilistic reliability measure approach is proposed to calculate the probability of failure and sensitivity indices considering a mixture of uncertainties under insufficient input data.The input uncertainty variables are classified into statistical variables,sparse variables,and interval variables.The conservativeness level of the failure probability is calculated through uncertainty propagation analysis of distribution parameters of sparse variables and auxiliary parameters of interval variables.The design sensitivity of the conservativeness level of the failure probability at design points is derived using a semi-analysis and sampling-based method.The proposed unified reliability measure method is extended to consider p-box variables,multi-domain variables,and evidence theory variables.Numerical and engineering examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method,which can obtain an accurate confidence level of reliability index and sensitivity indices with lower function evaluation number.

Diameter distribution models play an important role in forest inventories,growth prediction,and management.The Weibull probability density function is widely used in forestry.Although a number of methods have been proposed to predict or recover the Weibull distribution,their applicability and predictive performance for the major tree species of China remain to be determined.Trees in sample plots of three even-aged coniferous species(Larix olgensis,Pinus sylvestris and Pinus koraiensis)were measured both in un-thinned and thinned stands to develop parameter prediction models for the Weibull probability density function.Ordinary least squares(OLS)and maximum likelihood regression(MLER),as well as cumulative distribution function regression(CDFR)were used,and their performance compared.The results show that MLER and CDFR were better than OLS in predicting diameter distributions of tree plantations.CDFR produced the best results in terms of fitting statistics.Based on the error statistics calculated for different age groups,CDFR was considered the most suitable method for developing prediction models for Weibull parameters in coniferous plantations.
