Due to the characteristic emission of phosphors,phosphor-converted LEDs have been employed to provide the requisite light sources for indoor plant growth in the optical agricultural ***,we prepared a series of Mn^(2+)co-doped NaSrB5 O9:Dy^(3+)phosphors via a solid-state reaction *** phosphors have significant three-band emissions at 467 nm(blue region),606 nm(orange region),and765 nm(far-red region),ascribed to the^(4)F_(9/2)-^(6)H_(15/2)and 4 F9/2-6 H13/2 transitions of the Dy^(3+)ions and the^(4)T_(1g)(G)-^(6)A_(1g)(S)spin-forbidden transition of the Mn^(2+)ions,respectively,when excited by light of 376 nm(near-UV region).The co-dopant in the host material facilitates tunable photoluminescence(pL)due to energy transfer from the Dy^(3+)ions to the Mn^(2+)*** three emission peaks from the prepared phosphors well match with the absorption spectra of the photosynthesis pigments of plants,chlorophyll and phytochrome,which can absorb blue(400-500 nm),orange-red(550-700 nm),and infrared(IR)radiation,indicating that these phosphors have potential applications in the fabrication of plant-growth *** to the pL studies,the structure of the phosphors was determined by X-ray diffraction,refined by Rietveld method and chemically quantified by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

porous silica prepared by using an acrylic emulsion has been impregnated with bismuth ion resulting in Bi2Si05 species containing surface. The as-prepared materials have been characterized by X-ray diffraction spectroscopy （XRD）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XpS）, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy （UV-Vis DRS）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, energy dispersive analysis of X-ray （EDAX）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） and N2 adsorption/desorption techniques. EDAX analysis confirms the penetration of bismuth ions into the framework of silica to form Bi2SiO5, which is substantiated by XRD. The UV-Vis DRS shows that the catalysts are optically active and XpS confirms the inclusion of bismuth into the framework of silica. FTIR spectra illustrate the formation of Bi-O-Si linkages in the porous silica framework. SEM and TEM show the spherical morphology, whereas N2 adsorption/desorption study confirms the porosity of the prepared materials. The photocatalytic activity of the material is evaluated for the degradation of isoproturon herbicide and it is found that the material is active as compared to the commercial p-25 Degussa TiO2.

In this paper, thermoluminescence （TL） properties of rare earth Tb^3＋-doped α-Sr2p2O7 were examined after β-irradiation and photoluminescence （pL） properties of samples were examined for proper excitation. All the samples were synthesized by high-temperature combustion method. The X-ray diffraction （XRD） and Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy characterization confirms the formation of pure α-phase with crystallized in orthorhombic structure of samples. The pL emission spectra of all samples exhibit characteristic green emission peaks of Tb^3＋ where the peak at 545 nm has the highest emission intensity for Tb^3＋ con- centration of 5.0 mol%. The TL glow curves of β-irradiated Tb^3＋-doped α-Sr2p2O7 phosphors were recorded at different heating rates of 2, 4, and 6 K.s^-1. TL curves of all sample exhibit combination of two peaks： peak at 420 K shifts toward higher 525 K remains unaffected temperature, while peak at with the increase in Tb^3＋ concentration as well as fading effect. The activation energy and kinetic parameters of the samples were evaluated using thermoluminescence peak shape method.

How good is endoscopic ultrasound for TNM staging of gastric cancers? A meta-analysis and systematic review

AIM: To evaluate the accuracy of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) for staging of gastric cancers. METHODS: Only EUS studies confirmed by surgery were selected. Only studies from which a 2 × 2 table could be constructed for true positive, false negative, false positive and true negative values were included. Articles were searched in Medline, pubmed, Ovid journals, Cumulative index for nursing & allied health literature, International pharmaceutical abstracts, old Medline, Medline nonindexed citations, and Cochrane control trial registry. Two reviewers independently searched and extracted data. The differences were resolved by mutual agreement. 2 × 2 tables were constructed with the data extracted from each study. Meta-analysis for the accuracy of EUS was analyzed by calculating pooled estimates of sensitivity, specifi city, likelihood ratios, and diagnostic odds ratio. pooling was conducted by both the Mantel-Haenszel method (fi xed effects model) and DerSimonian Laird method (random effects model). The heterogeneity of studies was tested using Cochran's Q test based upon inverse variance weights. RESULTS: Initial search identified 1620 reference articles and of these, 376 relevant articles were selected and reviewed. Twenty-two studies (n = 1896) which met the inclusion criteria were included in this analysis. pooled sensitivity of T1 was 88.1% (95% CI: 84.5-91.1) and T2 was 82.3% (95% CI: 78.2-86.0). For T3, pooled sensitivity was 89.7% (95% CI: 87.1-92.0). T4 hada pooled sensitivity of 99.2% (95% CI: 97.1-99.9). For nodal staging, the pooled sensitivity for N1 was 58.2% (95% CI: 53.5-62.8) and N2 was 64.9% (95% CI: 60.8-68.8). pooled sensitivity to diagnose distant metastasis was 73.2% (95% CI: 63.2-81.7). The p for chi-squared heterogeneity for all the pooled accuracy estimates was > 0.10. CONCLUSION: EUS results are more accurate with advanced disease than early disease. Meta-analysis of the accuracy of EUS was analyzed by calculating pooled estimates of sensitivity, specificity, likelihood ratios, and diagnostic odds ratio. pooling was conducted by both the Mantel-Haenszel method (fixed effects model) and DerSimonian Laird method (random effects model). The heterogeneity of studies was tested using Cochran’s Q test based upon inverse variance weights. RESULTS: Forty-nine studies (n = 2558) which met the inclusion criteria were included in this analysis. pooled sensitivity and specificity of EUS to diagnose T1 was 81.6% (95% CI: 77.8-84.9) and 99.4% (95% CI: 99.0-99.7), respectively. To diagnose T4, EUS had a pooled sensitivity of 92.4% (95% CI: 89.2-95.0) and specificity of 97.4% (95% CI: 96.6-98.0). With Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA), sensitivity of EUS to diagnose N stage improved from 84.7% (95% CI: 82.9-86.4) to 96.7% (95% CI: 92.4-98.9). The p value for the χ2 test of heterogeneity for all pooled estimates was > 0.10. CONCLUSION: EUS has excellent sensitivity and specificity in accurately diagnosing the TN stage of esophageal cancer. EUS performs better with advanced (T4) than early (T1) disease. FNA substantially improves the sensitivity and specificity of EUS in evaluating N stage disease. EUS should be strongly considered for staging esophageal cancer.

It is urgent to develop highly efficient,stable and low-cost bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water ***,an iron-nickel phosphide(Fe_(2)p/Ni_(2)p)heterostructure,constructed by Fe_(2)p nanoparticles embedded on Ni_(2)p nanosheets,is strategically fabricated on nickel foam via a facile *** a bifunctional electrocatalyst,the Fe_(2)p/Ni_(2)p heterostructure delivers a very low overpotential of 64 m V(or 185m V)to reach current density of 10 m A cm^(-2)for hydrogen(or oxygen)evolution *** simultaneously employed as both the anode and cathode electrodes,it demonstrates an ultralow cell voltage of1.49 V@10 m A cm^(-2)for full water splitting with nearly 100%Faradaic efficiency,and superior long-term stability even over 100 *** functional theory calculations manifest that a strong heterointerface interaction could cause electron redistribution near the Fe_(2)p/Ni_(2)p heterointerface and optimize theΔG_(H)*of p sites,thus enhancing catalytic ***,the 3D porous heterostructure is beneft to expose rich active sites and facilitate ion diffusion and gas bubble release,thus promoting the catalytic *** work opens up a new strategical approach for rational design of metal phosphide-based heterostructures as highly efficient and stable bifunctional electrocatalysts for water splitting.
