Yogyakarta is one of the large cities in Central Java,located on Java Island,*** city,and the Pleret sub-district,where the study has taken place,is prone to earthquake hazards,because it is close to several seismically active zones,such as the Sunda Megathrust and the active fault known as the Opak *** a devastating earthquake of 2006,the population of the Pleret sub-district has increased ***,the housing demand has increased,and so is the pace of low-cost housing that does not meet earthquake-safety requirements,and furthermore are often located on unstable *** local alluvial material covering a jigsaw of unstable blocks and complex slope is conditions that can amplify the negative impacts of *** this context,this study is aiming to assess the multi-hazards and risks of earthquakes and related secondary hazards such as ground liquefaction,and coseismic *** achieve this,we used geographic information systems and remote sensing methods supplemented with outcrop study and existing seismic data to derive shear-strain *** results have revealed the presence of numerous uncharted active faults with movements visible from imagery and *** that the middle part of the study area has a complex geological structure,indicated by many unchartered faults in the *** this newly mapped blocks combined with shear strain data,we reassessed the collapse probability of buildings that reach level>0.75 near the Opak River,in central Pleret *** the buildings and from population distribution,we could determine that the highest risk was during nighttime as the buildings susceptible to fall are predominantly housing *** secondary hazards follow a slightly different distribution with a concentration of risks in the West.

Caltrans use of scrap tires in asphalt rubber products:a comprehensive review

The California Department of Transportation （Caltrans） has been using scrap tire rubber in asphalt pavements since the 1970s in chip seals and the 1980s in rubberized hot mix asphalt（RhMA）. Both the wet （field blend） and dry processes were used in early trials. Caltrans has also used rubber modified binders containing both crumb rubber modifier and polymer modifier that could be manufactured at a refinery facility, a terminal blend wet process. Since the beginning of this century, Caltrans increased the use of scrap tire rubber in paving projects and invested considerable resources in developing technically sound, cost effective, and environmentally friendly strategies for using scrap tire rubber in roadway applications. By the end of year 2010, approximately 31% of all hot mix asphalt （hMA） placed by Caltrans was rubberized hMA, roughly 1.2 million tons. Caltrans efforts in using asphalt rubber products were also demonstrated in its research and technology development. These included the construction of two full-scale field experiments, five warranty projects, and an accelerated pavement study using a heavy vehicle simulator. Additionally, terminal blend asphalt rubber and rubberized warm mix asphalts began to be experimented on trial basis. This paper provides a comprehensive review of Caltrans experience over four decades with asphalt rubber products. Current practices and future outlook are also discussed.

In the current study,we examine the Indonesian government's watershed management program,which was established in *** 2005,the Coordination Team for Rescue of Water Resources(CTRWR)was established to execute the program on a national ***,at the time,field implementation was a sectoral interest due to the lack of program *** this end,the Indonesian government pro-moted integrated watershed management in 2009,which since then has been implemented by all stakeholders(in Top-Down management form),with application limited to preparing and planning *** is mainly driven by the stakeholders'lack of understanding with regard to watershed systems as integrated management *** implementation results have not yet been realized,including the promotion of community-based watershed management(through Bottom-Up manage-ment).The purpose of our research was to determine the index numbers by measuring the level of cooperation between watershed management workers based on the Village Watershed Model(VWM)specifically surface water which includes six variables:planning,participation,institutional,fund sharing,gender,and management *** method used was an ordinal measure with the Likert *** data showed successful watershed management,in which five of the six VWM varia-bles—planning,participation,institutional,fund sharing,and management systems—were in the"good"category with indices ranging from 73.08 to *** gender variable index(69.12)was in the"me-dium"category.

Factors Influencing the Direct Electrochemical Reduction of Nb_2O_5 Pellets to Nb Metal in Molten Chloride Salts

Powder compacted and sintered Nb205 pellets were cathodically polarised against graphite anode in calcium chloride melt at 1173 K to study the influence of various factors on the electrochemical reduction of the oxide. The parameters were; duration and temperature of electrolysis, open porosity of pellets, nature of anode, mode of electrolysis and configuration of the oxide cathode. The experiments were also conducted in KC1, KC1-25 tool% CaC12 and NaC1 melts to understand the effect of melt composition on the electroreduction. Different Ca-Nb-O and Nb-O intermediates were found in the pellets electrolysed for different durations of time in CaC12 melt which eventually reduced to Nb. The current efficiency of the process decreased with increasing duration of electrolysis. Decrease in electrolysis temperature from 1 173 to 1073 K led to the decrease in the rate of reduction of the oxide pellets. Pellets with high open porosity reduced faster. Carbon contamination of the melt was relatively less when pyrolytic graphite was used as anode. Of all the melts studied, the reduction was found to be better in calcium chloride melt, that too when alumina crucible was used as container of the melt.

Objective:To study asymbiotic seed germination and mass propagation of Dendrobium lasianthera which is one of the endangered medicinal orchids using ***:The 14 weeks old hand pollinated seeds were sown on Vacin and Went(VW)solid medium supplemented with various concentrations of peptone(1,2,3 g/L) and without peptone which was used as control *** the 4,8,and 12 weeks after the seeds were sown,seed germination and shoot formation were *** evaluate the role of organic nutrient additives on subsequent shoot development and root formation,particular shoots with about 1 cm length contains 1–2 leaves obtained from the seeds germination was cultured on VW medium additives with different of organic nutrient:15% coconut water,2 g/L peptone,150 g/L banana homogenate,and without organic nutrient was used as *** 16 weeks of culture,the plantlet height,number of leaves,number of roots,leaf length and root length were ***:The supplementation of 2 g/L peptone in VW medium was proven to be suitable concentration for seed germination(100%) and shoot formation with 84.0% the protocorm development to phase 5(shoot).VW medium containing 15% coconut water was effectively improved the shoot development,with well developed roots and leaves compared to the other treatment and 95% of acclimatized plantlets ***:This protocol is an efficient way for the in vitro mass propagation of this Dendrobium lasianthera.

This study investigates the relation between the Coulomb failure stress of the mainshock with the aftershocks sequence following the 2018 Palu-Donggala earthquake in *** calculate the Coulomb failure stress using the available coseismic fault models,which had varied moment magnitudes between M_W7.53~M_*** interpretations of the fault sources were suggested by previous *** two fault models suggested that one inland fault segment ruptured during the earthquake,another fault model proposed that two fault segments ruptured inland of Central Sulawesi and along the coast of Palu *** further overlay the positive and negative values of Coulomb failure stress with the reported relocated *** find that only by conducting Coulomb failure stress analysis,we can not favour the preference of the coseismic fault which explains aftershock *** investigation demonstrates that additional observational data from geological field surveys are required to identify the surface rupture in comparison with the coseismic fault model.

Combustion performance of hybrid rocket fuels loaded with MgB_(2)and carbon black additives

Paraffin-based fuel has a great potential for several innovative missions,including space tourism,due to its safety,low environmental impact,high performance and low *** the fact that liquefying solid fuels increases the regression rate of hybrid rocket motors,incorporating energetic materials into solid fuel can still improve the *** objective and scope of this study is to increase the performance characteristics of the paraffin-based fuel by using magnesium diboride(MgB_(2))and carbon black(CB)*** cylindricalport fuel grains were manufactured with various additives percentages in mass(wt%:CB-2%and MgB_(2)-10%)and tested using a laboratory-scale ballistic hybrid motor under gaseous *** mechanical performance results revealed that adding CB and MgB_(2) improved the ultimate strength and elastic modulus of paraffin-based *** addition of these fillers increased the hardness of fuel by developing a strong interaction in the paraffin ***(TG)results showed that CB inclusion improved the thermal stability of the paraffin *** average regression rates of fuels loaded with CB and MgB_(2) were 32%and 52%higher than those of unmodified paraffin wax,*** characteristic velocity efficiency was found in the range of 68%e79%at an O/F ratio of *** MgB_(2) oxidation/combustion in the paraffin matrix was described by a four-step oxidation process ranging from 473 K to 1723 ***,a combustion model of MgB_(2) in the paraffin matrix was proposed,and four-step oxidation processes were discussed in detail.
