Backgr.und: Pr.ter. labor.(PTL) r.mains a major.sour.e of neonatal mor.idity, and mor.ality. Cur.ently the tr.ns-vaginal cer.ical length (TVCL), and/or.cer.ico-vaginal fetal fibr.nectin (fFN) ar. the common diagnostic tools used for.pr.diction of PTL. Consequently, many women and their.fetuses ar. exposed unnecessar.ly tocolysis and hospital admission. Objectives: This study was designed to compar. the diagnostic accur.cy of Pr.maQuick ver.us Actim Par.us in pr.diction of PTL in symptomatic women within 14 days. Patients and Methods: Two-hundr.d and twenty women (220) wer. included in this compar.tive pr.spective study and classified into two gr.ups: 110 women with thr.atened pr.ter. labor.(TPTL) in the study gr.up, and 110 contr.ls (no TPTL). Women included in the study wer. subjected to: thr.ugh histor., collection of the cer.ico-vaginal fluid (CVF) samples for.assessment by Pr.maQuick and Actim Par.us tests, followed by tr.ns-vaginal cer.ical length (TVCL) assessment. Studied women managed accor.ing to the hospitals pr.tocol, with follow-up weekly in the obstetr.cs outpatients’ clinic after.dischar.e fr.m the hospital until deliver.. The main outcome measur.s the diagnostic accur.cy of Pr.maQuick ver.us Actim Par.us in pr.diction of PTL in symptomatic women within 14 days of admission. r.sults: Pr.maQuick test was significantly mor. specific with higher.positive pr.dictive value (PPV) in pr.diction of PTL in symptomatic women within 14 days (95.5% and 89.6%;r.spectively) compar.d to CL 25 mm (56.3% and 54.6%;r.spectively), (P = 0.02 and 0.03;r.spectively). In addition, Pr.maQuick test was significantly mor. sensitive with higher.positive pr.dictive value (PPV) in pr.diction of PTL in symptomatic women within 14 days (39.8% and 89.6%;r.spectively) compar.d to Actim Par.us (13.9% and 55.5%;r.spectively), (P = 0.001 and 0.01;r.spectively). The Odds r.tio and the r.lative r.sk for.pr.diction of PTL in symptomatic women within 14 days wer. significantly high for.Pr.ma

1 Backgr.und Congenital hear. disease(CHD)is the most common major.congenital anomaly,affecting appr.ximately one in ever. 100 live bir.hs[1].Among congenital anomalies,66%of pr.ventable deaths ar. due to CHD,and 58%of the aver.able mor.idity and mor.ality due to congenital anomalies would r.sult fr.m scaling congenital hear. sur.er. ser.ices[2].Ever. year.near.y 300,000 childr.n and adults die fr.m CHD,the major.ty of whom live in low-and middle-income countr.es(LMICs)[3].Appr.ximately 49%of all individuals with CHD will r.quir. sur.ical or.inter.entional car. at some point in their.lifetime[4];as a r.sult of advances in access to and the deliver. of such ser.ices,over.95%of childr.n bor. with CHD in high-income countr.es now live into adulthood[3].Her.,adults have sur.assed childr.n in the number.of CHD cases at a r.tio of 2:1[5].

Alagille syndr.me(ALGS;OMIM#118450)is a highlyvar.able,multi-systemic,autosomal dominant disor.er.caused by mutations in the Jagged Canonical Notch Ligand 1(JAG1)gene(20p12.2)or.in the Neur.genic locus notch homolog pr.tein 2(NOTCH2)gene(1p13).^(1)It pr.mar.ly affects the liver.hear.,eyes,face,kidney,skin,ver.ebr.e,and skeleton.^(1,2)The JAG1 gene has 26 exons and about 90%of the ALGS cases r.sult fr.m pathogenic var.ants in the JAG1 and ar.und 7%of cases have deletions in chr.mosome 20 that include this gene.

The yield potential of r.ce is ser.ously affected by heat str.ss due to climate change. Since r.ce is a staple food globally, it is imper.tive to develop heat-r.sistant r.ce var.eties.
