BACKGrOUND There exists a link between irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)and ***,chronic depression is known to increase the risk of cancer in *** this population-based analysis,we investigated the prevalence and the odds of colorectal cancer(CrC)in young-depressed patients with *** To investigate the relationship between IBS and CrC in young,depressed patients using a nationally representative United States inpatient *** The 2019 National Inpatient Sample was used to identify young(18-44 years)patients admitted with comorbid depression in the presence vs absence of IBS using relevant International Classification of Diseases,Tenth revision,Clinical Modification *** endpoint was the prevalence and odds of CrC in age matched(1:1)youngdepressed cohort hospitalized with IBS(IBS+)vs without IBS(IBS-).Multivariable regression analysis was performed adjusting for potential *** Age-matched(1:1)young-depressed IBS+(83.9%females,median age 36 years)and IBS-(65.8%females,median age 36 years)cohorts consisted of 14370 patients in each ***+cohort had higher rates of hypertension,uncomplicated diabetes,hyperlipidemia,obesity,peripheral vascular disease,chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,hypothyroidism,prior stroke,prior venous thromboembolism,anxiety,bipolar disorder,and borderline personality disorder(Prior myocardial infarction,acquired immunodeficiency syndrome,dementia,smoking,alcohol abuse,and drug abuse(Pre high in *** rate of CrC was comparable in both cohorts[IBS+n=25(0.17%)vs IBS-n=35(0.24%)].Compared to the IBS-cohort,the odds ratio(Or)of developing CrC was not significantly higher[Or 0.71,95% confidence interval(CI)0.23-2.25]in IBS+***,adjusting for baseline sociodemographic and hospital characteristics and relevant comorbidities,the Or was found to be non-significant(Or 0.89,95%CI 0.21-3.83).CONCLUSION This nationwide propensity-matched ana

Drop formation at nozzles submerged in quiescent continuous phase： an experimental study with TBP-dodecane and nitric acid system

Solvent extraction is an important process in the nuclear fuel cycle. Tributyl phosphate(TBP) diluted with dodecane is commonly used as a solvent for extracting heavy metals from nitric acid medium. Studies on hydrodynamics of a single drop, which is the smallest mass transfer entity, are required for better understanding of the complex mass transfer and phase separation phenomena that occur in extraction equipment. In this study, drop formation at nozzles is studied using 30% TBP-dodecane as the dispersed phase and dilute nitric acid as the quiescent continuous phase. Experiments are carried out to determine the drop diameter, jetting velocity, drop detachment height and drop detachment time for various dispersed phase velocities, nozzle diameters(1.91, 3.04, and 4.88 mm), and nitric acid concentrations(0.01, 1, 3 N). Drop formation is captured using high-speed imaging, which enables quantification of drop size, onset of jetting, drop detachment height, and drop detachment time. Experimental data are used to propose correlations for predicting drop diameter and minimum jetting velocity. The correlations are found to be very accurate with average absolute relative errors being 5.23 and 2.97%, respectively.

Diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI), a functional imaging technique exploiting the Brownian motion of water molecules, is increasingly shown to have value in various oncological and non-oncological applications. Factors such as the ease of acquisition and ability to obtain functional information in the absence of intravenous contrast, especially in patients with abnormal renal function, have contributed to the growing interest in exploring clinical applications of DWI. In the liver, DWI demonstrates a gamut of clinical applications ranging from detecting focal liver lesions to monitoring response in patients undergoing serial follow-up after loco-regional and systemic therapies. DWI is also being applied in the evaluation of diffuse liver diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis. In this review, we intend to review the basic principles, technique, current clinical applications and future trends of DW-MrI in the liver.

Ectopic porcine spermatogenesis in murine subcutis： tissue grafting versus cell-injection methods

Fragments of testis tissue from immature animals grow subcutaneous areas of immunodeficient mice. The same results testes of rodents are injected into the subcutis of nude mice. and develop spermatogenesis when grafted onto are obtained when dissociated cells from immature Those cells reconstitute seminiferous tubules and facilitate spermatogenesis. We compared these two methods, tissue grafting and cell-injection methods, in terms of the efficiency of spermatogenesis in the backs of three strains of immunodeficient mice, using neonatal porcine testicular tissues and cells as donor material. Nude, severe combined immunodeficient （SCID） and NOD/Shi- SCID, IL-2rγc^null （NOG） mice were used as recipients. At 10 months after surgery, the transplants were examined histologically. Both grafting and cell-injection methods resulted in porcine spermatogenesis on the backs of recipient mice; the percentage of spermatids present in the transplants was 67% and 22%, respectively. Using the grafting method, all three strains of mice supported the same extent of spermatogenesis. As for the cell- injection method, although SCID mice were the best host for supporting reconstitution and spermatogenesis, any difference from the other strains was not signifcant. As NOG mice did not show any better results, the severity of immunodeficiency seemed to be irrelevant for supporting xeno-ectopic spermatogenesis. Our results confirmed that tubular reconstitution is applicable to porcine testicular cells. This method as well as the grafting method would be useful for studying spermatogenesis in different kinds of animals.

An Approach to Assess the resiliency of Electric Power Grids

Modern electric power grids face a variety of new challenges and there is an urgent need to improve grid resilience more than ever before. The best approach would be to focus primarily on the grid intelligence rather than implementing redundant preventive measures. This paper presents the foundation for an intelligent operational strategy so as to enable the grid to assess its current dynamic state instantaneously. Traditional forms of real-time power system security assessment consist mainly of methods based on power flow analyses and hence, are static in nature. For dynamic security assessment, it is necessary to carry out time-domain simulations (TDS) that are computationally too involved to be performed in real-time. The paper employs machine learning (ML) techniques for real-time assessment of grid resiliency. ML techniques have the capability to organize large amounts of data gathered from such time-domain simulations and thereby extract useful information in order to better assess the system security instantaneously. Further, this paper develops an approach to show that a few operating points of the system called as landmark points contain enough information to capture the nonlinear dynamics present in the system. The proposed approach shows improvement in comparison to the case without landmark points.

Abstract: KF/Al2O3 reached maxinmun activity at the pretreatment temperature(Tp) of 623K or 723K in Ibuters isomerization at 273K. according to the amount of KF loaded. Further increment of Tp lowered the activity of KF/Al2O3 due the suppression of [Al-OHF]strong basic sites through dehydroxylation. Changes in the state and function ofF caused the deactivation of KF/Al2O3 at high Tp.
