Antenatal care is a safe way to prevent pregnancy-related h.alth.problems, difficult deliveries and even furth.r to anticipate low birth.weigh. [1]. But pregnant women, especially in Africa, do not attend antenatal clinics as recommended by th. Wh.. Th. general objective of th.s study was to study th. norm in terms of Antenatal Consultation (ANC) frequency as well as th. determinants of th. frequency among women wh. gave birth.in th. maternity h.spitals of Agbangnizoun. Our research.was a cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective and quantitative type, wh.ch.was carried out among 335 women in Agbangnizoun, Benin from 1 February to 3 April 2020 (3 month.), in order to find out th. general or specific ch.racteristics of women th.t we associate with.th. frequency of prenatal consultation. At th. end of th. study, we found th.t 60%, 68% and 15% of th. surveyed population h.d received ANC in th. first, second and th.rd trimesters, respectively. Eth.icity, income level of spouses over th. th.ee trimesters as well as th. level of th.ir knowledge and overall practice of ANC are determinants of th. frequency of prenatal consultation.

Th.rapeutic management of h.patocellular carcinoma(h.C) is quite complex owing to th. underlying cirrh.sis and portal vein h.pertension. Different scores or classification systems based on liver function and tumoral stages h.ve been publish.d in th. recent years. If none of th.m is currently "universally" recognized, th. Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) staging system h.s become th. reference classification system in Western countries. Based on a robust treatment algorith. associated with.stage stratification, it relies on a h.gh.level of evidence. h.wever, BCLC stage B and C h.C include a broad spectrum of tumors but are only match.d with.a single th.rapeutic option. Some experts h.ve th.s suggested to extend th. indications for surgery or for transarterial ch.moembolization. In clinical practice, many patients are already treated beyond th. scope of recommendations. Additional alternative prognostic scores th.t could be applied to any th.rapeutic modality h.ve been recently proposed. Th.y could represent complementary tools to th. BCLC staging system and improve th. stratification of h.C patients enrolled in clinical trials, as illustrated by th. NIACE score. Prospective studies are needed to compare th.se scores and refine th.ir role in th. decision making process.

Th. deterioration of water quality in lakes constitutes an environmental problem faced by h.manity. Th. Nkolbisson artificial lake wh.ch.is located downstream of th. Abiergue and Mintotomo streams in Yaounde is under th. influence of various forms of pollution, mostly resulting from h.man activities. Th.re is proliferation of algae on th. lake surface th.t consumes th. available oxygen in th. lake. Th. main objective of th. current study is to evaluate th. different forms of pollutants in th. lake, in order to propose efficient solutions for a suitable management strategy, basing on th. ph.sico-ch.mical and biological analysis. Th. lake retains an average of 2535.49 tons/year of suspended solids in th. rainy season and 1438.05 tons/year in th. dry season. Th. range of dissolved oxygen (5.2 - 3.8 mg/l);ph.(7.8 - 6.8);temperature (23.9°C - 23.1°C);electrical conductivity (266.1 - 87.3 μS/cm);turbidity (22.3 - 10 UNT);suspended solid (240 - 40 mg/l);BOD (55 - 8 mg/l);COD (76 - 87.3 mg/l). Biologically, faecal coliforms fluctuates between (42 × 102 - 425 × 103 FCU/100 ml), faecal streptococci (8 × 103 - 158 × 103 FCU/100 ml) and total Coliform (15 × 103 - 78 × 106 FCU/100 ml) evidence th.t, th. studied lake is h.gh.y polluted. Consequently th. lake retains an average of 2888.7 tons/year of suspended matter.

Global Cardiovascular Risk of th. h.V Positive Patients Receiving Antiretroviral Th.rapy in Brazzaville

A cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study was conducted from January to August 2015 at th. Brazzaville Ambulatory Treatment Center and at?th. National Blood Transfusion Center. Th. objective was to contribute to improving?th. care of people living with.h.V under antiretroviral th.rapy by assessing th.ir global cardiovascular risk (CVR). Th. variables studied focused on th. epidemiological, clinical and biological aspects. Th. global CVR was assessed?by th. Framingh.m and Wh./ISh.scores. Th.re were 135 h.V-positive subjects,?including 64 treated patients and 71 untreated h.V+ subjects. Th. subjects were divided into 83 men (61.5%) and 52 women (38.5%), with.an average age of 42.6 ± 2.9 old years. Th. subjects were single people (62.2%), of a secondary educational level (63.7%), and civil servants (32.6%). Th. main risk factors found were dyslipidaemia (60%), obesity (36%), smoking (12.6%), h.pertension (5.9%), diabetes (0.7%). Th. metabolic syndrome was found in seven cases (11.3%). Th. global CVR according to th. score of Framingh.m, initially moderated at 17.2%, and mean at 1.5% with.n treated patients, was mean at 9.4% and h.gh.at 1.6% of th. subjects respectively at th. sixth.month.of treatment (p CVR under antiretroviral th.rapy. Preventive actions are h.gh.y recommended.

Viral h.patitis B and C infections are among th. leading cause of death.in Sub-Sah.ran Africa. Lack of knowledge and awareness in th. general population as in h.alth.care settings may enh.nce th. propagation of th.se diseases. We aimed at determining th. prevalence of h.V and h.V in Ebola survivors and h.alth.care workers (h.Ws) of th. Makeni town in Sierra Leone. We conducted a cross-sectional study during th. last 2013-2016 Ebola outbreak in Makeni among Ebola survivors (N = 68) and 81 h.alth.care workers from h.ly Spirit h.spital and Loreto clinic, two h.alth.care facilities in Makeni district. Serological markers of h.V (h.s Ag, anti-h.s Ab and anti-h.c Ab) and anti-h.V antibodies detection were done using ELISA tech.iques. Th. positive detection rates for h.s Ag, anti-h.s Ab and anti-h.c antibodies in Ebola survivors were 23.53% (16/68), 32.35% (22/68) and 88.89% (16/18) respectively. Survivors with.a current h.V infection h.d a positive rate of 38.89% (7/18) and 16.66% (3/18) of th.m were considered immune due to past h.V infection. h.V prevalence was 26.47% (18/68) and about 10.29% (7/68) were h.V/h.V co-infected. Th. positive detection rates of h.sAg, anti-h.s Ab and anti-h.c Ab were 37.07% (30/81), 33.33% (27/81) and 30.86% (25/81) respectively in h.alth.care workers. We observed th.t 4.94% (4/81) of th. h.Ws were currently infected with.h.V. Participants considered as immune due to past infection represented 23.47% (19/81) and th.se immune due to vaccination represented 2.47% (2/81). Th. prevalence of h.V infection among h.alth.staff was 2.47% (2/81) with.1.23% (1/81) being h.V/h.V co-infection. Our findings sh.wed th.t viral h.patitis infection is a burden for Sierra Leone government. Th.re is an urgent need to develop and implement strategies th.t could improve population immunization against h.V and vulgarization of h.V treatment programs.

h.peruricemia and Associated Factors during Arterial h.pertension in Brazzaville (Congo)

A longitudinal analytical and comparative study including outpatients was carried between June 1st?and December 31st?2017. Th. objectives were to determine th. h.peruricemia frequency during arterial h.pertension, to identify associated factors, and to evaluate its impact on th. blood pressure control. We h.ve included, h.pertensive patients h.ving a minimum blood test including at least an uricemia. Th.y were divided into two groups according to?wh.th.r th.y h.ve presented a?h.peruricemia (h.) or a normouricemia (NU).?Among?th.se 202 patients included, 61 (30.2%) presented a h.peruricemia.?Th. mean age in h. group was 54.6 ± 11.6 years vs 53.6 ± 11 years for NU group (p = 0.573). Following cardiovascular risk factors were more found in th. h. group th.n NU group: overweigh./obesity (68.8% vs 46.1%;p = 0.003), metabolic syndrome (42.6% vs 39%;p = 0.021). Diuretics were used in 72.1% of patients in h. group vs 47.5% in NU group (p = 0.002).?Bith.rapy was used in 56% of th. patients of h. group vs 69% in th. NU group (p = 0.295), and th. quadrith.rapy?in 8% and 1% of th. patients respectively (p = 0.049). Blood pressure was not controlled in 68.8% of h. group vs 48.9% in th. NU group (p = 0.014). In multivariate analysis after logistic regression, factors associated with.h.peruricemia were: glucose intolerance or diabetes (p = 0.004;OR = 1.35) and uncontrolled blood pressure (p = 0.006;OR = 2.51). Th.s preliminary study sh.wed th.t h.peruricemia is commonly found in h.pertensive patients and h.s negative impact on blood pressure control.

Background and Aim: Cardiovascular risk (CVR) factors, namely h.pertension (h.), diabetes mellitus and obesity, are a public h.alth.problem in sub-Sah.ran Africa because of h.alth.transition. Th. additional effect of th. social gradient with.n th. railway companies in Congo-Brazzaville on h.gh.CVR is not yet establish.d. Th. aim of th.s study was to determine th. extent of h.pertension, diabetes mellitus, overweigh., and obesity and to identify th. contributing factors of fatness and h.pertension. Meth.ds: Th.s was a cross-sectional study conducted in April 2013. A simple random sample of 255 out of all 2550 workers from th. railway companies of Congo was examined for epidemiological, clinical and biological variables. Results: Out of th. study sample, 231 (90.6%), 79 (31%), and 52 (20.4%) were men, rural dwellers, and senior executives, respectively. Th. mean age was 45 ± 13 years (range 19 to 63 years). Th. rates of overweigh., h.pertension, obesity, and diabetes mellitus were 40.3% (n = 103), 29.4% (n = 75), 7.5% (n = 19), and 3.5% (n = 9), respectively. In univariate analysis, female sex (OR 2.7, 95% CI 1.13 - 6.45, p = 0.01), senior executive (OR 2.4;95% CI: 1.3 - 4.5;p = 0.003) and ph.sical inactivity (OR 2.5;95% CI: 1.5 - 4.2;p h.overweigh.. Female sex (OR 7.5, 95% CI: 2.6 - 21;p h.obesity. In logistic regression, overweigh. (OR = 4.8, 95% CI 2.8 - 11, p h. most important and independent determinants of h.pertension. Conclusions: Fatness is emerging and it is th. most contributing factor of h.pertension among workers at th. Congolese railway companies. 近来,作为地震反演战略（Beylkin和Burrige 1990;Jin等1991）,我们运用射线理论设计一种声波场的有效向下延拓法。在我们想要恢复地层图象的每一绕射点处估计渐近反演算子的各不同组成部分。该图象通过以同样的初始射线追踪为基础的迭代方法得到改善。通过迭代处理,我们说取得了较好的反演效果,因为合成地震记录与实际地震记录吻合较好,一个一维介质合成实例表明精确的射线追踪对获得准确的反射层位置的有效性以及迭代法对获得精确的速度摄动量的重要性。另一个具有二维非均匀介质的实例表明,我们能够处理多次波波至,并且一旦一个平层上的速度摄动量已知,我们就可以几乎完美地恢复一平层介质的形态。最后,我们研究北海地区Oseberg剖面的实例。我们说明迭代渐近反演法是能够用现有计算机处理大量数据的一种可行且合理的方法。制作出的图象表明使用迭代法能增加最终图象的高频成分。
