Scientific interest in plant reproduction has a long and venerable history going back to early European naturalists including carl Linnaeus,christian Konrad Sprengel,Joseph Kölreuter,Fritz and hermann Müller,George henslow and of course,charles *** can be considered the founder of modern plant reproductive *** three books(Darwin 1862,1876,1877)laid the conceptual foundation for the field,and many of the ideas they contain are still topics of active research(reviewed in barrett 2010).The turn of the 20th century saw the rediscovery of Mendel’s Laws and breeding experiments on flowering plants played an important role in establishing many key elements of modern *** the 1940s,Fisher had developed the population genetic principles for theoretical analysis of the evolution of plant mating systems(Fisher 1941)。

constructing heterostructured nanohybrid is considered as a prominent route to fabricate alternative electrocatalysts to commercial Pt/c for hydrogen evolution reaction(hER).In this work,(Nh_(4))_(4)[Nih_(6)Mo_(6)O_(4)]·5h_(2)O polyoxometalates(NiMo_(6))are adopted as the cluster precursors for simple fabrication of heterostructured Pt-Ni_(3)Mo_(3)N nanohybrids supported by carbon black(Pt-Ni_(3)Mo_(3)N/c)without using additional N *** improved porosity and enhanced electronic interaction of Pt-Ni_(3)Mo_(3)N/c should be attributed to the integration of Pt with NiMo_(6),which favors the mass transport,promotes the formation of exposed catalytic sites,and benefits the regulation of intrinsic ***,the as-obtained Pt-Ni_(3)Mo_(3)N/c exhibits impressive and durable hER performance as indicated by the low overpotential of 13.7 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) and the stable overpotential during continuous working at 100 mA cm^(-2) for 100 *** work provides significant insights for the synthesis of new highly active heterostructured electrocatalysts for renewable energy devices.

Many plants employ osmotic and hydrostatic pressure to generate movement for survival,but little is known about the cellular mechanisms ***,we report a new cell type in angiosperms termed ’contractile cells’ in the stigmas of the flowering plant chirita pumila with a much-expanded rough endoplasmic reticulum(RER).cryo-scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy analyses revealed that the RER is continuously distributed throughout the entirety of cells,confirmed by endoplasmic reticulum(ER)-specific fluorescent labeling,and is distinct from the common feature of plant *** RER is water-sensitive and extremely elongated with water *** show that the contractile cells drive circadian stigma closing-bending movements in response to day-to-night moisture ***-seq analyses demonstrated that contractile cells have distinct molecular ***,multiple microstructural changes in stigma movements convert an anti-selfing structure into a device promoting selfing—a unique cellular mechanism of reproductive adaptation for uncertain pollination environments.

Slits have been widely used in laser-plasma interactions as plasma optical components for generating high-harmonic light and controlling laser-driven particle ***,we propose and demonstrate that periodic thin slits can be regarded as a new breed of optical elements for efficient focusing and guiding of intense laser *** fundamental physics of intense laser interaction with thin slits is studied,and it is revealed that relativistic effects can lead to enhanced laser focusing far beyond the pure diffractive focusing *** addition,the interaction of an intense laser pulse with periodic thin slits makes it feasible to achieve multifold enhancement in both laser intensity and energy transfer efficiency compared with conventional *** results provide a novel method for manipulating ultra-intense laser pulses and should be of interest for many laser-based applications.

In recent years,the Internet of Things(IoT)has gradually developed applications such as collecting sensory data and building intelligent services,which has led to an explosion in mobile data ***,with the rapid development of artificial intelligence,semantic communication has attracted great attention as a new communication ***,for IoT devices,however,processing image information efficiently in real time is an essential task for the rapid transmission of semantic *** the increase of model parameters in deep learning methods,the model inference time in sensor devices continues to *** contrast,the Pulse coupled Neural Network(PcNN)has fewer parameters,making it more suitable for processing real-time scene tasks such as image segmentation,which lays the foundation for real-time,effective,and accurate image ***,the parameters of PcNN are determined by trial and error,which limits its *** overcome this limitation,an Improved Pulse coupled Neural Networks(IPcNN)model is proposed in this *** IPcNN constructs the connection between the static properties of the input image and the dynamic properties of the neurons,and all its parameters are set adaptively,which avoids the inconvenience of manual setting in traditional methods and improves the adaptability of parameters to different types of *** segmentation results demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed self-adaptive parameter setting method of IPcNN on the gray images and natural images from the Matlab and Berkeley Segmentation *** IPcNN method achieves a better segmentation result without training,providing a new solution for the real-time transmission of image semantic information.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

●AIM:To determine the teaching effects of a real-time three dimensional(3D)visualization system in the operating room for early-stage phacoemulsification training.●METhODS:A total of 10 ophthalmology residents of the first-year postgraduate were *** the residents were novices to cataract ***-time cataract surgical observations were performed using a custom-built 3D visualization *** training lasted 4wk(32h)in all.A modified International council of Ophthalmology’s Ophthalmology Surgical competency Assessment Rubric(IcO-OScAR)containing 4 specific steps of cataract surgery was *** self-assessment(self)and expert-assessment(expert)were performed through the microsurgical attempts in the wet lab for each participant.●RESULTS:compared with pre-training assessments(self 3.2±0.8,expert 2.5±0.6),the overall mean scores of posttraining(self 5.2±0.4,expert 4.7±0.6)were significantly improved after real-time observation training of 3D visualization system(Pcores of 4 surgical items were significantly improved both self and expert assessment after training(PcONcLUSION:The 3D observation training provides novice ophthalmic residents with a better understanding of intraocular microsurgical *** is a useful tool to improve teaching efficiency of surgical education.
