Structure models associated with P-and S-wave velocities contain considerable amount of information on lithology and geophysical properties,which can be used to better understand the complexity of the deep crustal structure. However,records of converted shear waves are less due to the speciality of seismic survey at sea and the rigorous generated conditions. The study on shear waves has always been a weakness for studying the deep crustal structures of south {2. sea (SCS). In this paper,eleven three-component OBSs were deployed along the profile OBS-2.01 in northeastern SCS. After the data processing of polarization and band-pass filter,converted S-wave phases were identified in the radical component records of nine OBSs. Taking the OBS7 as an example,identification and analysis of converted shear waves were presented and discussed in detail. A few phase groups,such as PwSc,PgSs,PnSc,PmS,and PwSn,were found coming from the deep crust or Moho interface by simple theoretical model calculation and ray-tracing simulation. The results not only provide the underlying basis for studies of S-wave velocity structure and Poisson’s ratio structure,but also reveal the relationship between crustal petrology and seismology,which will be of importance for making full use of S-wave information in the future.

The low-velocity layer (LVL), closely related with tectonic activities and dynamic settings, has always been a hot topic in the deep crustal structure studies. The deep seismic (OBS/OBH) and onshore-offshore experiments have been extensively implemented in the northern south china {2. (SCS) since the 1990s. Six seismic profiles were finished on the northern margin of SCS by domestic and international cooperations. The features of crustal structures were revealed and five velocity-inversion layers were discovered. Among them three LVLs with 3.0—3. 5 km·s-1 velocity are located in the sedimentary structure (2.0—6.0 km in depth and 2.0—4. 6 km in thickness) of the Yinggehai Basin and Pearl River Mouth Basin. They were identified by the reflective and refractive phases for their shallow depth. The other two LVLs with 5.5—6.0 km·s-1 velocity generally existed in the middle crust (7.0—18.0 km in depth) with an about 2.5—6.0 km thickness in the transitional crustal structure of the northeastern and northwestern SCS. They were detected by the refractive phase from their overlain and underlying layers. We explored the possible tectonic formation mechanisms combining with previously reported results, which provided evidence for the formation and evolution of SCS.

Ocean current data for nearly 3 months in the south china {2. (SCS), combined with the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis wind data, are analyzed. The results indicate that the wind en-ergy enters the upper mixed layer in a wide continuous frequency band. In addition, the interac-tion between the low-frequency wind anomaly and the low-frequency current anomaly is the most ‘effective’ way for the energy input from the wind to the upper ocean. However, only the inertial and the near inertial energy propagate downwards through the upper mixed layer. The down-ward-propagating energy is distributed into the barotropic currents, the baroclinic currents and each mode of the baroclinic currents following the normal distributions. The energy change ratios between the barotropic motion to the baroclinic motion induced by the wind present a normal distribution of N (0.02.2. 0.3947). The energy change ratios of the first 4 baroclinic modes to the whole baroclinic currents also follow the normal distributions. The first baroclinic mode follows N (0.2.2., 0.1872., the second N (0.1979, 0.1504), the third N (0.1331, 0.1633), and the fourth N (0.0650, 0.1540), respectively.

More than 50% of the typhoons landing in china have landed on the southeast coast, where they have caused great pressure on the coastal environment. {2.grass, one of the most important con- stituents of coastal ecosystems, is also greatly affected by typhoons. In order to clarify how {2.grass distribution variation is affected by typhoons in coastal areas in southeast china, data of Typhoons Dawei and Tianying （category 4 and category 2.respectively, which just ran through the southern part of Hainan province） have been studied. In situ observation and satellite remote sensing data （CBERS-china Brazil Earth Resources Satellite） in 2.04 and 2.06 were used to retrieve {2.grass distribution in Xincun Bay, Hainan province. In situ observations showed that leaf length, stem biomass and above ground biomass on average showed evidence of reduction after Typhoons Tiany- ing and Dawei. However, {2.grass density showed no evidence of reduction after typhoon Tianying and Dawei passed by and increased rapidly in January 2.06. From results of satellite remote sensing data, {2.grass distribution can be detected with high accuracy, and the area of {2.grass distribution on the south coast of Xincun Bay in 2.06 after the typhoon passed by was smaller than that in 2.04 in region A and B. However, in region C, area of {2.grass coverage under 2.% increased. These results demonstrated that typhoons Tianying and Dawei damaged {2.grass bed and helped {2.grass to get rid of aged and dead leaves, and this correspondingly facilitated {2.grass growth.

In May of 2.07,the second generation selected （SS） and control （SC） groups of pearl oyster Pinctada martensii were established by selecting 10% breeders with the largest and mean shell length,respectively,from the first generation selected *** performance of the SS and SC groups were compared on the basis of measurement data at Days 8,18,60,95,195 and *** Day 365,100 individuals （60.0–75.0 mm at shell length） were sampled from each group and then subjected to the experiment where physiological parameters such as filtrate rate,oxygen consumption and ammonia excretion were measured at 15,2.,2. and 30°*** results show that the SS group had significantly larger mean shell length and shell height than the SC group at Days 8,18,60,95,195 and 365 （P 0.05）.The genetic gains at different ages varied from 6.0% to 17.0% for shell length and 5.7% to 14.6% for shell height,*** 15,2.,2. and 30 ° C,the SS groups had significantly larger filtrate rate than the SC group （P 0.05）.At 15 and 2. °C,the differences in oxygen consumption rate between the SS and SC groups were not significant （P 0.05）.At 2. and 30 °C,however,the oxygen consumption rate of the SS group was significantly larger than the SC group （P 0.05）.At 15,2.,2. and 30 °C,there were no significant differences in ammonia excretion rate between the SS and SC groups （P 0.05）.The present results indicate that there existed considerable genetic variability in the base population and a further selection could be likely *** selection for faster growth might produce animals that had higher intake of metabolizable energy by virtue of faster filtrating behavior.

By using the TRMM and QuikSCAT datathe characteristics of the 2.8 day high frequency atmospheric variability over the south china {2. are studied in this ***’s found that：（1） the 2.8 day high frequency signals are significant not only during the periods of the south china {2. Summer Monsoon （SCSSM）,but also after the retreat of the *** reaches its peak around July to August;（2. the 2.8 day high frequency signals exhibit strong intermittent features;（3） During El Nino years,the 2.8 day high frequency signals are active only in the periods of the *** La Nina years,the 2.8 day high frequency signals are obviously not only in periods of the SCSSM,but also after the retreat of the *** the SCSSM periods,the 2.8 day high frequency signals in El Nino years are much stronger than that in La Nina years;（4） During spring to early summer,most of 2.8 day signals propagate southward and eastward,during midsummer to autumn,however,most of 2.8-day signals propagate northward and westward;（5） The 2.8 day northward and westward propagation signals is probably related to the activities of high-frequency vortex over the SCS.

It is well known that marine sponges harbor large numbers of bacteria,some of which have been proved to be *** diversity of bacteria in marine sponges distributed along the coast of south china {2. has been previously studied but that of bacteria in sponges inhabiting the open {2. has been rarely *** this report,the diversity of bacteria associated with the marine sponge Agelas robusta from a remote coral reef in the south china {2. was documented employing 16S rDNA library construction,amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis（ARDRA） and phylogenetic analysis.A total of 32.phylotypes were finally categorized in nine phyla including Cyanobacteria,proteobacteria,Chloroflexi,Firmicutes,Actinobacteria,Acidobacteria,Planctomycetes,Bacteroidetes and *** dominant phylum was proteobacteria whereas the dominant genus was Synechococcus in *** spongespecific bacteria were also found in the bacteria population,but the proportion（5 OTUs/32.OTUs） was much lower than other *** study reveals the phylogenetic diversity of bacteria in *** and confirms the presence of some sponge-specific bacteria in the south china *** the diversity of sponge-associated bacteria in china assists to exploit the bacteria resources for biotechnology.

Cenxi Permian basalts are the late Palaeozoic island-arc type basalts first found in south china. REE and trace element characteristics and distribution patterns show that this volcanic formation, which has been isotopically dated at 2.1 MaB.P. by the 39Ar/ 40Ar method, is of an active continental marginal island arc type, and that the tectonic environment at that time was an island-arc marginal {2. or minor ocean basin related with the paleo-Tethyan tectonic belt in western guangdong-eastern Guangxi.

The condensates are generally characterized by high maturity,low concentration of steranes and ter-panes biomarkers and low content of non-hydrocarbon fraction. In this case commonly used steranes,terpanes and carbazoles parameters cannot be effectively applied in the reservoir-filling tracing. The hydrogen bond formed by sulfur atom in the dibenzothiophenes (DBTs) results in molecule adsorption and fractionation during oil migration in reservoir. Like carbazoles,total DBTs content decreases with the increasing of oil migration distance. Therefore,a new parameter——total DBTs content is proposed to be used to trace the oil migration orientation and filling pathway. In present study,total DBTs con-tents of condensates and light oils are obtained by adding internal standard——eight deuterium atoms substituted DBT during Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry analysis of aromatic fraction. Except for a few samples with much lower content of non-hydrocarbon fraction,the total DBTs content shows a fine positive correlation with that of carbazoles. Large errors can be caused in the process of pyrrolic nitrogen compounds separation. The application of this new parameter in the Fushan Depression of Beibu Gulf Basin,south china {2. indicates that this parameter is a reliable one to trace filling pathway in condensate reservoirs. Combined with other DBTs-related parameters,such as 4-/1-methydibenzo-thiophene and 2.4-/1,4-dimethyldibenzothiophene,oil migration orientation and filling pathway of the Fushan Depression was determined. The accumulations of Huachang oil field in the Fushan Depres-sion are mainly migrated and charged from northeast to southeast along the Huachang uplift. It can be predicated that the light oil and condensates in the Huachang oil field should be sourced from the source kitchen at the Bailian Sag. It shows that total DBTs content is an effective parameter to tracing oil migration orientation and filling pathway.
