This paper aims to solve the lack of generalization of existing semantic segmentation models in the crop and weed segmentation *** compare two training mechanisms,classical and adversarial,to understand which scheme works best for a particular encoder-decoder *** use simple U-Net,SegNet,and DeepLabv3+with ResNet-50 backbone as segmentation *** models are trained with cross-entropy loss for classical and PatchGAN loss for adversarial *** adopting the Conditional Generative Adversarial Network(CGAN)hierarchical settings,we penalize different Generators(G)using PatchGAN Discriminator(D)and L1 loss to generate segmentation *** generalization is to exhibit fewer failures and perform comparably for growing plants with different data *** utilize the images from four different stages of sugar *** divide the data so that the full-grown stage is used for training,whereas earlier stages are entirely dedicated to testing the *** conclude that U-Net trained in adversarial settings is more robust to changes in the *** adversarially trained U-Net reports 10%overall improvement in the results with mIOU scores of 0.34,0.55,0.75,and 0.85 for four different growth stages.

Herbicide use is rising globally to enhance food production,causing harm to environment and the *** agriculture suggests variable-rate herbicide application based on weed densities to mitigate adverse effects of *** weed density estimation using advanced computer vision techniques like deep learning requires large labelled agriculture *** large agriculture data at pixel level is a time-consuming and tedious *** this paper,a methodology is developed to accelerate manual labelling of pixels using a two-step *** the first step,the background and foreground are segmented using maximum likelihood classification,and in the second step,the weed pixels are manually *** labelled data is used to train semantic segmentation models,which classify crop and background pixels as one class,and all other vegetation as the second *** paper evaluates the proposed methodology on high-resolution colour images of canola fields and makes performance comparison of deep learning meta-architectures like SegNet and UNET and encoder blocks like VGG16 and ***-50 based SegNet model has shown the best results with mean intersection over union value of 0.8288 and frequency weighted intersection over union value of 0.9869.

Background. Cervical lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (LELC) is a rare varian t of squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. Association with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is still controversial. EBV has been demonstrated in Asian women with cer vical LELC. In Western women, human papillomavirus (HPV) might play a role in th e etiology. Case. We describe a 44-year-old Caucasian woman with a lymphoepith elioma-like carcinoma of the cervix without EBV, but in the presence of multipl e HPV infection. Conclusion. Our case supports a possible different pathway of d evelopment of cervical LELC in Western women as compared to Asian women.

Objective: To evaluate the performance of abdominal palpation as a screening test for intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) in a low risk population, under standard practice conditions. Study design: Population based observational study of 6318 consecutive low risk singleton pregnancies. The Dutch obstetric system distinguishes low from high risk pregnancies. In the low risk group abdominal palpation as a screening test is performed by midwives. If a complication, like IUGR, during prenatal care is assessed, the women is referred to a consulted obstetrician. Ultrasound is performed by the consulted obstetrician. In case of sustained suspicion the women is selected as high risk. Outcome parameters: severe small for gestational age (SGA) birthweight below 2.3rd centile, all SGA birthweight below 10th centile, operative delivery, neonatal morbidity and perinatal mortality. Screening value of abdominal palpation, abdominal palpation combined with ultrasound, and the performance of high risk selection was assessed by conventional performance measures. Results: Abdominal palpation as a screening test for IUGR is of limited value: the observed sensitivities were 28%for severe SGA and 21%for SGA p≤10, respectively. After ultrasound in case of sustained suspicion, the sensitivity in detection of severe SGA was 25%and positive predictive value (PPV) 16%. In detection of SGA p≤10 sensitivity was 15%and PPV 55%, which means 45%were false positives. The sensitivity of the Dutch obstetric system in selection of high risk pregnancies in detection of severe SGA was 53%, in detection of SGA p≤10 was 37%. Perinatal mortality was 0.9%(57/6318) and 32%of these cases were SGA. Six cases of fetal death were unrecognised during prenatal care (0.09%) and seem preventable. The prevalence of a 5 min Apgar Score≤7 was significantly higher in the SGA infants if SGA was defined as p≤10.
