Distinguishing celadonite from glauconite for environmental interpretations:a review

Celadonite and glauconite are comparable in terms of physical,chemical and mineralogical *** of both these minerals requires slightly oxygen-depleted conditions in a semiconfined micro-environment,facilitating the uptake of Fe into the *** glauconite is ubiquitous in marine deposits,celadonite forms in both marine and non-marine environments,more commonly by altering intermediate to mafic rocks.A review of data across the geological column shows that both these minerals are more common in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic,which may be related to extensive *** composition of celadonite and glauconite is highly variable and is controlled by the availability of cations within the pore water *** major element composition of celadonite overlaps with that of evolved to highly evolved glauconite to a large *** data and representative samples of celadonite and glauconite reveal subtle differences in X-ray diffraction parameters and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)*** shows sharper basal and hkl reflections than *** characteristically exhibits distinct 111-021,003-022,023 and 130-131,and 060 reflections at less than 1.51A,indicating a betterordered crystallographic structure than *** FTIR spectra of celadonite and glauconite show similar absorption bands although Si-O bending,Si-O stretching and OH-stretching bands are sharper and well resolved in celadonite than that of *** palaeoenvironmental interpretations,it is,therefore,necessary to examine the subtle differences in X-ray diffraction parameters and FTIR spectra to confirm the identification of these two *** composition of celadonite relates closely to the host rock and depositional *** celadonite associated with mafic rock shows relatively high Fe,Mg and low Al *** contrast,those associated with felsic to intermediate composition rocks show slightly higher contents of Al and

Sequestration of blue carbon(C)in mangrove plantations depends on site characteristics and plantation *** study evaluated the effects of plantation management on C sequestration at a C-neutral site in Xiamen,China.A field study was conducted on 10-year-old Sonneratia apetala and Kandelia obovata plantations(mono-Sa,mono-Ko)and a 15-year-old mixed plantation-.We found that mono-Ko had a significantly higher ecosystem C sequestration rate(3.32±0.62 kg C m^(-2)yr^(-1))than others when planted in the indirect shade of pioneer *** a non-native species,Sonneratia performed better(0.57±0.01 kg C m^(-2)yr^(-1))when planted with Kandelia than in monotypic *** temporary and long-term certified emission reduction(tCER and lCER)of the 12.98 ha mono-Ko was 4103.89 and 3693.50 net CO_(2)-e within 10 years,respectively.A literature review was conducted to show the compatibility of this study with other natural and plantation sites of China and Bangladesh(the native habitat for Sonneratia).The C sequestration of Sonneratia plantation sites in China is comparable with those in ***,the soil C accumulation rate for a Sonneratia monotypic plantation in Bangladesh decreased with age,yet the same did not occur in the plantations of China.

Monitoring biosignals is crucial for intelligent health *** of Health Things(IoHT)provides a new path for monitoring the *** adaptive data dissemination is the primary requirement for the deployment of time and space-efficient monitoring *** dew-based systems lack an opportunistic architecture of data-synchronization with the *** paper proposes a model that makes efficient use of IoT and cloud-dew architecture for a sustainable health monitoring *** sensor nodes are used to monitor the biosignals *** accrued data is temporarily stored in the dew *** is synchronized with the cloud at a subsequent phase to achieve seamless accessibility and optimal scalability of the *** synchronization plays an essential role in the cloud dew *** have used the Gini index and Shannon entropy to ensure intelligent data synchronization with the *** sensors produce erroneous data,which poses a significant threat to the sustainable health monitoring *** normal distribution with a triangular membership function has been used to clean up the data and filter out the ***,we compared the proposed MedGini model with the existing models and analyzed the system *** is found to outperform others concerning cost and power consumption.

A brain tumor is the uncharacteristic progression of tissues in the *** are very deadly,and if it is not diagnosed at an early stage,it might shorten the affected patient’s life ***,their classification and detection play a critical role in *** Brain tumor detection is done by biopsy which is quite *** is usually not preferred at an early stage of the *** detection involvesMagneticResonance Imaging(MRI),which is essential for evaluating the *** paper aims to identify and detect brain tumors based on their location in the *** order to achieve this,the paper proposes a model that uses an extended deep Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)named Contour Extraction based Extended EfficientNet-B0(CE-EEN-B0)which is a feed-forward neural network with the efficient net layers;three convolutional layers and max-pooling layers;and finally,the global average pooling *** site of tumors in the brain is one feature that determines its effect on the functioning of an ***,this CNN architecture classifies brain tumors into four categories:No tumor,Pituitary tumor,Meningioma tumor,andGlioma *** network provides an accuracy of 97.24%,a precision of 96.65%,and an F1 score of 96.86%which is better than already existing pre-trained networks and aims to help health professionals to cross-diagnose an MRI *** model will undoubtedly reduce the complications in detection and aid radiologists without taking invasive steps.

Servo press forming machines are advanced forming systems that are capable of imparting interrupted punch motion,resulting in enhanced room temperature *** exact mechanism of the formability improvement is not yet *** contribution of interrupted motion in the ductility improvement has been studied through stress relaxation phenomena in uniaxial tensile(UT)***,the reason for improved formability observed when employing servo press is complicated due to the additional contribution from frictional *** the present work,an attempt is made to decouple the friction effect on formability improvement *** improved formability is studied using a hole expansion test(HET).The limit of forming during hole expansion is modeled using the Hosford–Coulomb(HC)damage criteria,which is implemented as a user subroutine in a commercial explicit finite element(FE)*** the contribution of stress relaxation is accounted for in the evolution of the damage variable during interrupted ***,the difference between simulation and experimental hole expansion ratio(HER)can be used to decouple the friction effect from the overall formability improvement during hole *** improvement in HER due to stress relaxation and friction effect is *** study showed that the model effectively captures the hole expansion deformation process in both monotonic and interrupted loading *** to stress relaxation,friction effect played a major role during interrupted HET.

Low Temperature Reduction of Graphene Oxide Using Hot-plate for Nanocomposites Applications

A green, easy to reproduce method to obtain thermally reduced graphene oxide （GO） is described, The only requirement is a heating source, like a hot plate, that can reach -225 ℃ without any special setup requirements. Upon addition of graphene oxide, effective reduction could be achieved within 10 s. Starting flake size affects the yield of graphene, final structure and composition. A detailed characterization of the produced graphene using thermal analysis, spectroscopic methods, electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy is presented. Application of the produced graphene as a filler to epoxy resin for mechanical reinforcement is also reported. Smaller flakes （Ds0 = 5.7 μm） showed improved ultimate tensile strength, fracture strain and plane strain fracture toughness compared to larger flakes （Ds0 = 47.9 μm） that showed negative effect. Both flake sizes showed a negligible effect on Young＇s modulus.
