The aim of this study is to map the areas exposed to water erosion risks in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco around the Hassan-I *** methodology is based on the analysis of the water power index(WPI)as a hydrological parameter,the vegetation cover,and the litho-logical *** WPI was derived from a Digital Elevation Model(DEM)and the litho-logical units and vegetation cover were derived from Advanced Land Imager sensor on the Earth Observing-1 satellite *** image was corrected from radiometric and atmospheric effects,and geometrically rectified using a DEM and grounds control *** variables were integrated in a Geographical Information Systems environment,and Multi-Criteria Analyses were used to derive the water erosion risks map pointing out the most exposed areas requiring the implementation of suitable conservation *** validation of the obtained results shows the simplicity and the potential of this approach for water erosion risks mapping.

Objective:To evaluate the contributions of the some quantum dots in different biological uses in order to valorizes such nanomaterials for further ***:Zinc sulfide ZnS nanoparticles were synthesized in aqueous medium at pH constant,the obtained nanoparticles has been characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and Fourier Transform Infra-red(FTIR) *** sulfide nanoparticles were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal profiling and tested for antioxidant activity using l,l-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH),hydroxyl radical(OH·) and hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) scavenging activity,ferric reducing power(FRP) assay and ferrous ion chelating(FIC)***:The sizes of the crystallites were estimated to 3 nm using the DebyeScherrer formula based on the XRD *** shape was identified to be quasi-spherical whith agglomerated *** obtained ZnS quantum dots present an antioxidant activity especially in oxido-reduction power,and can be used for species profiling either for bacteria and ***:It was found that ZnS nanoparticles showed relatively higher antioxidant activities and antibacterial with an antifungal behavior which proves that this nanomaterials can react at the interface with the life entities.

Introduction: The use of inhaled ketamine to manage a variety of painful conditions has been endorsed by the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Nebulized analgesia has multiple benefits, including rapid, effective and titratable analgesic delivery. The aim of our study is to assess the efficacy and safety of intranasal analgesic-dose ketamine compared to multimodal analgesia in patients presenting with acute postoperative pain or headache after a spinal anaesthetic in the intensive care unit of obstetrics and gynaecology. Materials and Methods: This was a prospective descriptive study, with hospital Ethics Committee approval and written informed consent from study participants. We compared the effect of nebulized ketamine and multimodal analgesia postoperatively in 120 patients belonging to the physical status I - II of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, in the intensive care unit of obstetrics and gynaecology, at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center in Casablanca from June 2021 to June 2022. Results: We included 120 patients in our study divided into two groups of 60 patients: the average age was 35 years, with extremes ranging from 18 to 45 years, All patients were hospitalized for postoperative care: all women underwent locoregional anaesthesia with a standard dose according to the service protocol (10 mg of bupivacaine, 25γ of fentanyl, 100γ of morphine), where pain was the common denominator. Among these patients, 59 were admitted for management of postpartum haemorrhage, 43 for postoperative monitoring, 15 for post-spinal anaesthesia headache and 3 for pelviperitonitis. The results of the pain assessment 30 minutes after the ketamine nebulization were marked by a request for analgesia in 12 patients, which is 20% of group A, including 5 patients, whose visual analogue scale (VAS) on admission was between 5 and 7, and 7 patients whose VAS at admission was ≥8;all these patients received a second d

Proposed by the Swedish engineer and mathematician Ernst Hjalmar Waloddi Weibull (1887-1979), the Weibull distribution is a probability distribution that is widely used to model lifetime data. Because of its flexibility, some modifications of the Weibull distribution have been made from several researches in order to best adjust the non-monotonic shapes. This paper gives a study on the performance of two specific modifications of the Weibull distribution which are the exponentiated Weibull distribution and the additive Weibull distribution.

In this paper, we studied the process of dissociation unimolecular of the evaporation of H+2n+1 hydrogen clusters according to size, using the Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus (RRKM) theory. The rate constants k(E) were determined with the use of statistical theory of unimolecular reactions using various approximations. In our work, we used the products frequencies instead of transitions frequencies in the calculation of unimolecular dissociation rates obtained by three models RRKM. The agreement between the experimental cross section ratio and calculated rate ratio with direct count approximation seems to be reasonable.

Researches into new and innovative uses of waste plastic materials are continuously advancing. These research efforts try to match society’s need for safe and economic disposal of waste materials. The use of recycled plastic aggregates saves natural resources and dumping spaces, and helps to maintain a clean environment. The present articles deals with the resistance to chemical attack of polymer-mortars, which are often used as low-cost promising materials for preventing or repairing various reinforced concrete structures. To gain more knowledge on the efficiency of polymer-mortar composites, four mortar mixtures: one specimen with Portland cement and three mixtures with 2.5, 5, and 7.5 wt% of the substitution of cement by polyethylene terephthalate (PET) were exposed to the influence of aggressive environment (0.5%, 1% and 1.5% HCl acids, 10% NH4Cl, 5% H2SO4 acid and 10% (NH4)2SO4 solutions). The measurements of several properties were carried out, the results were analyzed and the combination of X-ray diffraction, FT-IR spectroscopy, differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis and the composites were also observed by SEM led to the positive identification of the deterioration products’ formation. From this study, it was found that the addition of PET to the modified mortars, means reducing the penetration of aggressive agents. So, the PET-modified mortars exposed to aggressive environments showed better resistance to chemical attack. The new composites appear to offer an attractive low-cost material with consistent properties. The present study highlights the capabilities of the different methods for the analysis of composites and opened new way for the recycling of PET in polymer-mortars.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant and antimicrobial capacities of extracts from Euphorbia hirta L. and Terminalia avicennioides GUILL & PERR. Methodology: The crude hydro-acetonic and aqueous extracts as well their fractionations were prepared. The total phenolic, flavonoids and tannins contents were assessed using the Folin-Ciocalteu, aluminum chloride and vanillin acid methods, respectively. The antioxidant and antibacterial activities were investigated using standard methods. Results: Euphorbia hirta showed significant contents of total phenolic and flavonoids in n-Butanol (145.14 ± 1.37 GAE/100mg extracts) and ethyl acetate (23.56 ± 0.68 mg QE/ 100mg extracts) fractions. Total tannins were high in hydro-acétonique extract (11.18 ± 0.31 mg TAE/100mg extracts) and aqueous fraction (11.12 ± 0.28 mg TAE/100mg extracts) of Terminalia avicennioides stem barks. Extracts and fractions of both plants demonstrated a strongly antioxidant capacity through the free radicals scavenging and the ferric ions reducing. Concerning antimicrobial screening the extracts of Terminalia avicennioides were effective against 16 causative pathogens of urinary tract infections. Bactericidal effect against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213, Staphylococcus aureus and 2 methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus haemolyticus strains was found with aqueous fraction of Terminalia avicennioides leaves. This fraction also highlighted a synergetic effect with some antibiotics used against these bacterial strains. Conclusion: Terminalia avicennioides leaves could be recommended as an herbal drug formulation for the urinary infections management.

Mineralogical Study of Polymer-Mortar Composites with PET Polymer by Means of Spectroscopic Analyses

The sheer amount of disposable bottles being produced nowadays makes it imperative to identify alternative procedures for recycling them since they are non-biodegradable. Experimental investigation on the effects of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer, which is a waste material obtained by crushing of used PET bottles, on the mineralogical composition of composites after 28 days of casting are presented in this paper. Various weight fractions of cement 2.5%, 5% and 7.5% were replaced by the same weight of PET plastic;they were then moulded into specimens and cured. The fine powder samples obtained from broken specimens were subjected to X-ray diffraction, FT-IR spectroscopy, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis and the composites were also observed by optical microscope. Thermogravimetry (TG) and derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) were used to study the interaction between polymers and cements. Differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction and FT-IR were also used to investigate the cement hydration according to the additions. The results showed that an increase in polymer-cement ratio meets with a decrease in the quantity of Ca(OH)2;in terms of bonding, the rough surface of particle favours greater contact between PET and cement matrix and doesn’t seem to have chemical interaction between the mineral species and the organic molecules which could lead to the formation of new compounds. The present study highlights the capabilities of the different methods for the analysis of composites and opened new way for the recycling of PET in polymer-mortars.
